That other chain left on there is from too many people helping out unload. I find its safer for myself to load and chain down everything and then unload it too. Its cause you have a system down for yourself. Great piece of machinery, keep the videos comin.
@@reonrounds7404How many feet is the stick and how many tear boom is it with out a jib? And do you get a jib with it also lol how old are you Reno you look great proud of you keep up the great work Reon Rounds!!!!!
Alcoa wheels. Reon, this name hits home EVERYTIME I hear it, and never gets old. My grandfather, after serving in the Pacific during WW11, landed a job on the Alcoa foundry in Massena, NY. I remember going to see my grandparents, especially around Christmas, and I'd wait for him to come home from work. I was just a wee lad. Fun times. Oh yea .... awesome crane.
Reon I have a Favor to ask!!!! Start giving us more videos. Honestly as a 20 yr climber myself, Brother you are 1 of the best out there. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we miss your vids. Love the Grove, and it's really game on...
Wish you well with the new crane!! With all the fancy equipment and manpower I assume you get a lot extra done in a day, but can’t imagine how you can charge enough for tree removals to make that all pay!
Great video of the Grove 4100 Brings back memories when I worked for a Caterpillar dealership in BC Canada We were sales and service for Grove equipment. I was an industrial electrician and worked on many groves Thanks, the old school guy.
I took one look and thought Holly crap that's expensive. But time is money and time saved is your money. Just glad it wasn't me that ordered it, I'd be living in the dog house. Nice to see you back Reon on the tube.
So exciting to watch the delivery of the new crane Reon! Love to see it in action, was blown away with the Merlo when I first watched that in your video! Cheers from Tasmania!
Good to see you Reon! Thanks for the video! Look forward to more! What I thought was cool was the warning lights on the Tesla!!! 😂 You my friend are a living legend
Reon , congratulations on the new crane . I hope you're going to have a lot of joy using the crane , it will definitely make your work a lot easier with this awsome machine. Good luck and be safe. Wishing you all the best. Greetings from belgium 🇧🇪
Where have you been (reon) it's all right we know where you've been (as pink Floyd were saying) Anyway we missed you a lot please don't forget your audience waiting to see your work. Greetings and see you again soon 😊
I didn't grow up in the tree industry but growing up as a country boy i knew how to flop trees. I grew up in trucking and farming. I got in the tree industry after moving to Minnesota in 2012. I started as temp guy from a storm that came through and they needed help. I never told them i had a class A cdl and i was waiting to get back in trucking but i had to wait until speeding tickets fell off. I was just a ground guy and i got hired the first day on the job once the owner saw how strong a skinny country boy like me was. It was 3 temp guys and the owner wanted a log rolled onto the fronts of the swinger but them guys could not move it. I told them guys to step back and i rolled that log with no problem. The owner looked at me and said come here and i was hired. Then i became one of the best ground guys he every seen. I started driving the log truck maybe a week later once i told him i had a CDL. Then i starting operating a stand up grapple truck and now i operate a rear loader grapple truck that is 60 yards. I love when we use cranes like the one you bought. I think thd biggest one i have seen removed trees for us was a 120 ton. They are nice cranes. I still drive a tractor trailer only because the winter work just don't give me the hour to make the money i make at $30 an hour.
Man this is great, you no longer need to top and section trees for removal you can just yank the whole damn thing straight out of the ground. No stump grinding, no trimming mess, just a bit of fresh fill and seeding and see ya later!! Oh the $ savings!!
More content please!! Even if you have to literally add a full time 2 person production team. I would love to see a weekly video from your takedowns. Especially with the new Grove in the mix! Good luck and safe climbing!
Hey Reon. Just watched your new crane delivery. I see you’re from C.G. WIS. I lived there from 77 to 86 up in the Bohnsack Subdivision. If you know where that is. I’ll be subscribing and watchin! Thanks for the upload.
be careful when opening/closing the back cab door - the top c-channel runner doesn't always go fully into the little pocket over the door opening, so when you close the door, the little bit on the door itself can sometimes end up going past the end and popping out when you go to open it, resulting in the door hanging off. I've driven a 3050, and two 3055s, and worked with several other sizes with the same cab door design. the 3050 (the old one) was the only one that never had door problems, because it was the Krupp-originated cab design.
I’m wondering if this is the big grove that was sitting at Stephensons equipment in Harrisburg PA that I would drive by on occasion and drool? If so , what a small world it is sometimes. I saw the badge under the door and it’s got me thinking lol. What a long journey for such a big piece . Truck drivers did great . It amazes me what they can move up and down the roads .
I bought my 30 ton National rider from the orginal owners 6 years ago, since then I've made about 100 K every year, after expenses. I paid 215 K for it, and could sell it for 150K any day of the week, so yeah it was a great buy, my sixth, each one better and more expensive. Nothing like that new crane smell!
Great step forward puts you in control of jobs needing large crane as now crane will be internally scheduled and you can expand services offered with crane service to other tree service companies when available offering operator expirenced in tree jobs. Please follow up with all the tech on cranes capabilities/specs. if you can maybe a seperate demo video of crane's capabilities. Ray
Couple years ago we had a crane doing a transformator lift where i live in norway, it was a 400 tonne crane, the machine came alone under its own power, and then 5 semis with boom and weights. The transformator was 79 tonne and had to be lifted into a building.
Wow just wow! And I thought I was risky buying a beat up Mack and prentice loader awhile back! New is the only way to go for sure. Many blessings on your BIG journey, while you forget the headaches of renting etc.. Power on Reon!
You know what would be awesome if you guys could put a huge trailer behind that. Then you could pic and load most of the other needed trucks and equipment for each crane job. Cutting your fuel, maintenance, labor, and most of all, the other cost associated with driving multiple vehicles to the job sight.
its a nice machine to drive on the road if its not limited / restricted it will doo 60 mph on the flat and next to nothing on the hill,s just make shure the beacon,s / lights are working. the back cab,s the same very comfortable to operate, ballast pickup take,s getting used to as well , keep an eye on the cable drum for boom length it has a habit of running up to one side and you loose the jib length so you have to tele-in manualy @ time,s have fun!!!
Dang 11 axles to get her there and all the permits and the routes they put you on is a pain !!! Plus any big town you come to have curfew hour's during rush hour in the morning and the evening so with an Oversize load you have to park it until after those hour's !!! I bought a heavy spec truck back in the late 90ties an did nothin but oversize loads for a couple year's!!! The crane is amazingly impressive in person, then to see it on a lowboy WOW 😳😅 Super Awesome and congrats Reon that big girl is gonna be the Bomb !!!!! Hat's off to ya on your fleet, it makes this job sooo much safer 😉❤❤ Plus it's great to see ya !!! Now let's get some video's out 🤣🤣 Hiii Rocky
The new GMK’s are nice when they run. Steering and suspension issues suck! RCL is a decent computer and pretty simple to manual scope in a pinch. Nice crane!
Our local crane outfit sets our units with 1 almost identical reon…don’t bust a tire all I can say…lol…buddy you’ve come a looong way and made one hellova tree business I tell ya..
Cant wait to see this in action, So the maintenance on this like simple oil change. How many gallons in pan this have. ? How to change tire around, etc. Guess that will be another adventure when come time.. Wonder the new things you need to learn and experience driving it to job sites.
This is like the contractor version of taking delivery of a gulfstream jet lol. Proud of ya man
Hell yeah ... As a pilot and firewood man ... its a hard call which I'd take

100% correct. I get blunt and rude “back off, don’t touch, stay outta my way until I tell you otherwise”
