  • In this video we walk through simple Acceptance and Commitment Defusion Techniques - Acknowledging, Observing, Naming and Name the Story. This is the first step in gaining distance from difficult thought loops (worry, rumination and judgement) which can be followed by the principles in the next video on compassionate self-talk.

    It's not that some of our thoughts might be true, but how workable are they to our lives in the moment. ACE...huge influence RH has had. 😊

      Totally, I’ve learnt so much from Russ, happiness trap was incredibly helpful when I was in a lot of pain in the past

    Defusing techniques can be super helpful because we recognize that we are not our thoughts!

      @@jonnysaytherapy I just finished Dr. Z's first eight-week cohort program (ACT Beyond OCD) so having these videos plus the program to add to my toolbox gives me so much more to work with. I am so grateful.

      @@nancyburkhart1070 that's great, I think Dr Z's program is wonderful and I have learned a lot from her. It was a lovely warm group of people on the course.
      My goal is for these videos to provide lots of support to anyone working with tricky brain thought loops and emotions.
