I play music myself, but a few strokes of fate meant that I couldn't listen to or play music for years. I removed everything from my life that could evoke emotions. It was only my 5-year-old son who brought me back to music when my father died in 2022. My mother then died in 2023 and music is all that remains of them. Not a day goes by where I don't listen to music by the hour. I never had access to this song by Springsteen. The way you play it, it should have been written! I think this acoustic version is better than Bruce Springsteen’s original. Jorgen Dahl has a very pure and spectacular voice. I can’t get enough of hearing it.

The song was written about the dispair/lonliness Bruce felt after success of his album 'The River'. His struggles to write a hit song just exasperated the existential pain.
As an 80s baby I found this song abrasive as I grew up - Jorgen has given this song a life I NEVER thought it could have in MY life - poingent and PERFECT in every way. God bless you sir. Im a fan for life.

This album came out when I was 2. Born In The USA was what made me fall in love with music. Some of my earliest memories I can remember are attached to this album. Your rendition of Dancing In The Dark makes it all come flooding back, and I can never get through it without shedding a few tears.
