Great tourist info on Budapest. Looks like a lovely City. You do a good job of pointing out these good photo opp spots around the City. Hope to come someday.
Wow this city is beautiful and you did a fantastic job portraying that while educating us on photography. I have been living here for 5 years now and I love this city. ❤
Aloha Miklos! It's Steve from Hawaii. You showed me Budapest at night in 2017. Best photo tour ever! I got some of my most treasured images on that night you guided me around. Wish you the best with the tour business! Anyone reading this comment, take the tour if you are in town. You won't regret it. And he is the nicest guy too!
Hi Miklos. I visited Budapest 5 years ago and took a photography tour with you. Thanks for sharing the video, it brought back memory. I love all the spots in the video.
Really nice video Miklos. It does bring back our trip with you in November 2022. We really hope we can do it again sometime in the near future. Thanks for doing this one. And, yes - it was one of the highlights of our trip to Budapest and also of our river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam.
Will be visiting in June - thanks for some great ideas. Nice presentation; great production quality, no wasted time on a long, boring intro (with stupid music), moved from topic to topic. - held my interest. Great job! What about night or early morning shots shooting across the river from the Pest side? Subscribed.
Thank you Jim, glad to hear you liked the video! :) You have to take into account that they turn the lighting off at 11 PM on the buildings and bridges. So in the morning, before sunrise, they don't look as glamorous.
Some great tips Miklós. I like using manual focus Voigtlander M lenses on my Sony A7Rii for night shots. The sun stars are fantastic with those lenses.
Great video..thanks a lot. May I know that is it safe to hike up to Gellert Hill during night? And i am planning to only bring my 24-105 lens. Is it enough to have a great close up photo of the building from Gellert hill?thanks a lot..😊😊
Thank you! Yes, it's generally a safe area, even at night. However, the best part, from where you have the best view is fenced off because of construction. You can stand next to the fence, but there's literally a foot wide place where you can stand :)
Great to hear you will be in Budapest! River cruise company: I have never taken a cruise myself, but most of my guests go with Viking. But there are other companies like Ama Waterways or Scenic. I hear good things about all of them.
Hi Miklos I am looking forward to visiting Hungary and taking photos. My family is from Hungary and I speak Hungarian like you speak English, With an Australian accent, haha. I hope we can meet and enjoy some time. If you're interested I will keep you posted. Peter
Awesome video. I'm going in 2 weeks. Is it possible to get to Gellert Hill from Fisherman Bastion? I plan to go up the funicular and then walk all that. Cheers
Thank you! Many people think Gellért-hill and the Castle-hill (where Fishermens Bastions are) are the same hill... But no, first you have to get down from the Castle hill and then go up to the Gellért-hill. Depends on where you'd like to go, but the easiest is on foot or by cab. Or you can take tram 19 or 41 to Szent Gellért tér
Hey Mike, I'm so happy that you're here! What's funny is that you were literally the very first person to book my services. Not only this made our photo outing memorable, but also because I wasn't clear enough on specifying the meeting locations, and we waited for each other at the wrong place :) Thank God, in the end, all came together, and though with a little delay, we could start the tour.
Szia Miklós! Thanks for all these tips! I saw some drone footage as well; I am in Hungary at the moment visiting my girlfriend's family and we couldn't figure out how to fly legally my sub 250 grams drone as the information available is scarce and confusing.
Hi Miklos Thank you for the video. I was hoping you could show how to take these beautiful scenery with people in it. Like for eg if myself or my family also in the photos. I mean, of course I can photograph myself with that shutter speed so I was wondering how to get beautiful shots with the lights on the background during night. I don't have problems when it's during the days. But I'm not able to do it during the nights. If you can make videos of this matter, I would be really appreciated it
nice presentation ,and good advertising . This is Norman from NYC , remember me?. Your video brought back fond memories . Might even pay you and Budapest return visit. Would also like to purchase some of your past videos to study. Please stay in touch, you are one of my favorite Photographers . My offer still stands have a extra room in my apt in Manhattan, like to hear from you . Your friend Norman Weinberg
Hi Miklos, Remember me, I tripped over and cracked my knee and ripped my trousers up at The Citadel (May 2022). My favourite is the Parliament at night. Swapped my D850 for a Z7ii, a lot lighter! Thank you again John
Hi John, of course I remember you! I very much hope that nothing serious happened with your knee - that area has so bumpy pavement nowadays, then the darkness makes that worse. Awesome to hear you switched to mirrorless, I'm sure it's much easier to carry around!
I’ve read it’s technically against the law to take photos in Budapest if people are in shot. Now that’s pretty hard if you’re going to tourist locations. Is this heavily enforced or is it a local law that isn’t really followed. Don’t really see how in this day and age with phones and what not this can be enforced.
Hi, that's totally not true, it's misinformation. You can take photos with people in the shot, and you don't need their permission if they are clearly not the subject of the photo. For example, you take a shot of Heroes Square, and dozen of people are in the frame. But if you take a photo of someone where he/she is clearly the subject (like he's the single person on the photo and fills the frame), then and ONLY THEN they have the right to object. Even then, you are allowed to take the photo, but you can't publish it without their consent. Of course, there are many variations to this, but in short, you can take photos with people in it. I have met many different photographers as a tour guide in Budapest, and people usually get upset at photographers who are clearly photographing them (like with a tele lens from 10 feet) without asking first.

Excellent video. I will contact you for a tour. Which hotel /area do you recommend me to stay for a 4 day trip?
Thanks
Thank you! Hotels: there are so many to choose from. But I recommend the ones along the Danube, or close to the Chain Bridge.
