Luggage included with my ticket: personal item (backpack, and FYI, seats are smaller and this did NOT fit properly - I heard the same from all over the plane), carry-on sized wheeled suitcase, full size suitcase. First box up to 50 lbs was $100. Next box was $225 and could be up to 75 lbs. I called Air Canada to verify all measurements and weights before packing.
Seeing you in your new backyard doing your first video left me grinning right along with you. So so happy for you! You picked really good stuff to re start your closet over there. I love those bags for packing as well. I will be looking into those bags for moving. Those are awesome! See you in June!!
First off, love seeing you in your new yard smiling from ear to ear! Second, I love those bags… What do you call them? Pulling the air out to condense them! What a great idea! It’s so fun to see you re-start your store over there. Wishing you the best! 💕
Thank you ♥️♥️ I found these bags on Amazon after searching vacuum sealed bags. I got a variety pack and it was cheaper per bag than the Dollar 25 tree 😂 I was also able to use some to store sweaters at a friends house to collect next June!
I agree, it’s been just a short while but feels like so much longer!! But time is flying and that means a visit isn’t too too far off!! I’ll just skip over the rainy season 😋
How does the American dollar compared to the Australian whatever currency? Pricey to send but worth it so you can start up right away. Maybe you’ll be able to find a few resellers there that can help you navigate the waters. Did you leave room for your own clothes? Love the vacuum storage bags, I bought them for my trip to Reno so that I would have enough room in my extra suitcase for bins and thrift store shopping in my spare time. And a little extra volume of weight mine just has a little hand pump that fits nicely in my suitcase. The only problem is that they are so hard when you suck all the air out that you can’t squish them up against each other but I still fit a lot more stuff by doing it that way.
The air vacuum bags are a strange block to work with, you’re right, a bit hard but ultimately a space saver! I found I liked the small bags better than the jumbo for just that reason. They were tighter and stacked better than the big ones of personal clothing, because yes, I did bring my own things even if I DID reduce by tons :) The American dollar is stronger, even stronger than my last trip in 2020 when I’d memorized that $10 AUD was $8 USD and I felt like I was getting a secret deal on things. Now $10 is $6.50ish USD which is a hefty savings when I convert prices!! I’m still learning prices here and think I should do a video on basics and why it costs to start over. A pair of black career pants at Target for example said $50 on the tag and my jaw fell until I realized that’s like $32 USD and there’s no sales tax to add on top, so actually quite comparable!
@@WellREDWardrobe yes, part of my retirement plan if I move back to Canada is the value of my American dollar to the Canadian dollar. Once you start selling though, you’ll have to remember when you’re using money you earned it there versus money you are getting from US.
@@Elahnah.Reseller oh I just had friends / some of my last housemates move back to Canada this week! Small world :) We had talked a lot about the financial aspects too while all prepping to move, and taxes while earning in two countries is not going to be simple so I’m definitely hiring an accountant! I had to remind myself to start a fresh spreadsheet to keep those sales and cost of goods separated too, yikes. Good luck on your some-day move back!! Will you resell after retirement as well? I can’t imagine not doing it now tbh, and am surprised at the years that I let pass without it as at least a supplementary income.
@@WellREDWardrobe I’m sure I will continue to resell part time. I want to travel so I would have to put my closet on vacation but I just love Thrifting so I have to do some thing with all that stuff. Fortunately, there is an agreement between Canada and US so you don’t have to pay taxes twice but you do have to have an accountant that specializes in cross border taxes to get it right. It really shouldn’t be that difficult.
