    I wish to point out to Patrick Harpur the Norwegian author and researcher Maria Kvilhaug ! - she has written to books “ The Seed of Yggdrasill” and “ The Maiden with the Mead” . This is a multiple stories about what Harpur call Diamon - please check her up. She has a bunch of knowledge about this from the norse mythology- and she told that The Great goddess Freya/ Frøya appeared when she was working on her master thesis.

    One of the best in an excellent series. I want to second the suggestion of inviting Peter Kingsley.

    Double vision;
    Schiller: "But Goethe, that is not an observation. It is an idea!"
    Goethe: "Then I am very fortunate to be able to see ideas with my own eyes"
    Gebser saw this insight as the fundamental feature of integral consciousness. A capacity to see through the transparency of the sensory world; an "awaring" of the diaphaneity of Being.

    Priscian of Lydia 600Ad says precisely this- the imagination is at once receptive of both external object and the living form of the object. Patric gives a great summary of this. There is no perception without imagination.

    Have you ever heard about "Mushi"? I found them in a Japanese manga, Mushi-shi, a very beautiful one, indeed.
    They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead, they resemble the primaeval body of life and are generally known as "Mushi". Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a "Mushi-shi" who travels around to investigate and find out more about the "Mushi". In the process, he also lends a helping hand to people who face problems with supernatural occurrences which may be related to the "Mushi".

    Arete! What if energy itself possesses awareness - “there is something that it is like to be energy” - and among the aspects of being energy responds to is the attitude of the querent so, accordingly, only those willing to see will see the magical-imaginal realm of consciousness?

    Great conversation. This link is one video in A whole series of videos addressing imagination in early Christianity. Particularly late platonic work of PROCLUS AND PLOTINUS. -450AD.

    Otra buena entrevista! Jung's concept of imaginal vs. imaginary included the concept of daemones. Mr. Harpur makes a strong case, too. It reminds me of all the old Greek myths of heroes defying the gods, only to be reprimanded, and taught their error by the forces of nature. El filósofo fuma 🚬❤

    William Blake received his platonism from the author of the LATTER Platonists - Thomas Taylor. In this latter Platonic theologia mystica - there is a subtle but important psychological difference with modern neo- platonism and the lineage of the Areopagite and Henry Corbin. Fabulous conversation and way overdue...

    Thank you, I missed the Zoom due to ozone. My wish is that Pari would invite Peter Kingsley, who provides evidence for Parmenides and incubation and Apollo, not as the rational sun order deity, but as deity of the lair and the soul. A western indigenous shamanistic practice that has been layered over with falsehoods. Kripal adores him. Also Sebastian Junger, the atheist novelist, who died, met his father (a physicist), and wrote In My Time of Dying. I have it, but haven't read it yet, though I've read that he is very scientific in his investigation, but can't account for why the dead appear in NDEs. Thank you so much for this talk.

    I do wish Patrick Harpur would stop saying 'you know' every second or two! - many times per sentence!!! 😣It makes it v hard to follow him. I really love his other discussions where he talks normally & am enjoying 'The Philosophers' Secret Fire.'
