      @@DudeRV I do not have one currently. I guess you can say I’m in the research phase. All I know is that I want to get out there and go on adventures. It’s a pretty steep learning curve so I’m just trying to figure out what all I will need and what will be realistic budget wise.

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  3 года назад +2

      @@betosalinas7054 just about every RVer will tell you this. Stare where you are with what you have and you will figure it out as you go. If you have a car and a blanket you have have adventures, I see plenty of folks out exploring the world car camping and tent camping,. I have seen just about every kind of trailer converted into an rv just as I have seen every kind of car,truck,van,bus, you name it used as an RV.
      stop waiting tomorrow never comes.
      The basics are water, food and shelter. Campgrounds offer water and in some cases even shelter, most every campground I have been to has a charcoal cooker so all you need is a cast iron skillet and something to cook. A comfortable bed is always nice so some kind of mattress is a plus.

    Dude rv I’m watching this a little late and just love these units. My question is how are things working so far. I’ve watched several videos on these and everything you can think of went wrong.

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  3 года назад

      So far we have had no serious issues. We had a pretty long warranty list that is just about cleared up, mostly small stuff. The biggest item was a leaking fresh water tank air vent. Thor replace the fresh tank. We had a little rain leaking in around the front cap seal but that was fixed with fresh silicone. Those were the only big issues. Thor has been great about all of the warranty items and Demondtrond (the dealer) has also been pretty good to work with.
      What can I say? we love our Trudy Thunder! So nice to drive and so very much power!
      I will say we are not a fan of the insta-heat water heater as it really seems to use way more water than when we had a tank.

  • @doublenickle570
    @doublenickle570 3 года назад

    Congratulations on your purchase. I hope it is a wonderful experience owning this rv and it brings you many years of joy. 2 questions, how much stuff can you put in it? GVWR minus GAWR = load capacity. I've been seeing that issue in videos a lot lately and I'm curious. Also does the GAWR include all tanks full or empty?

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  3 года назад

      Wow! those are really heavy questions! LOL!! GVWR is determined in part by GAWR for both front and rear axles. GVWR also includes any water in the tanks and any weight on the hitch. We can carry 1589 lbs of cargo, less 540lbs of liquid and less 375 lbs of people and rat terriers so we can carry 674 lbs of food and gear in Trudy Thunder. Now we have to subtract about 150 lbs for the outdoor kitchen and RV gear (blocks, chocks, hoses and stuff) and another 30 lbs for my various fishing gear and lawn chairs now we are at 494 LBS and still have to account for food and we really like to eat so a full fridge and cupboard of 200 lbs means that Yappy can bring her 200 lbs of hair and makeup stuff and 50 lbs of pillows and blankets and I have to bring my 30 lbs of laptop and camera crap, so that leaves me with about 14lbs of extra luxury cargo space.🤔🙄🙀👍 LOL!!

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  3 года назад +1

      As long as the tank is solid there is no problems, but Houston, we have a problem! the air vent fitting is loose and the vent seems to be blocked. we have a warranty apt to replace the tank.
