It happened exactly how I expected: we struggled to break their defence and got punished in counters. We simply don't have the right type of players at all to deal with their play style. The same happened in the game with Inter. We have no creativity whatsoever against an organised and compact defence. We only create good chances if we're given space, like City did. None of our attacking players are equipped to deal with such teams. Odegaad particularly suffers in situations like this.

This has been the problem since last season some will argue but rice offensively made us worse, he has no creativity in the middle of the pitch we need another player who is fluid and great at movement to accompany odegaard but people are blind and think rice is the answer

Fully agree , I did an article on bbc 606 in 2004 on Wenger saying a DM would transform us, we never did buy one, now Arteta for the last. 3 seasons has been just short of a 3-4 match winners, a striker, or two and cover for Odegard,, Saka, Party and keeper, yet Left backs are never enough for Arteta. Ironically we scouted Isak, Sesko and a host of other top players but by not showing intent and dillying dallying playing clubs against each other till end of transfer deadline to save a few bob we are left short year after year. So after making a number of transfer mistakes, like Arteta is a yes man to Kroenkes and bound by their priorities which are baseball, hence we don’t have a target any year - but why say you want to win CL to your fans but have no squad depth to compete.

Arteta made 5 substitution in this match. His first in a long time which indicate the team is completely burnt out especially with no winter signings. I get the feeling he deliberate wanted Arsenal to lose but not by an embarrassing scoreline of 3+ goals or extra time so his players can get long rests in-between EPL and Champions League matches. If you pay close attention to their next set of matches from February to April its every 6-7 days which is enough time to rest and recover with his tiny squad vs him staying longer in EFL Cup or FA Cup which would have force him to play a match every 2-3 day with his tiny squad which would not survive. Liverpool on the other hand will be tested every 2-3 days due to them being in more than 2 competitions. I also think they sacrifice a competition too which is most likely the EFL Cup as well.
EFL cup would only be 1 more game which is the final, doesn’t make sense to sacrifice it at this stage

I agree what Big Turkish has said what's happened was going to happen right from the start of the season even I new that the squad was not going to be strong enough , Arteta new it and said it at the beginning of the season . There's been some bad mistakes have been made in the last summer transfer window and which can only be corrected now by this summer transfer window , in my view we need to bring in possibly 4 to 5 new squad players to strengthen the Arsenal team up for the new coming season ahead.
His season left who knows Liverpool have plenty of experience and have done it before and in Europe if we can hold it together who knows what can happen.

Once the likes of Isaak is behind the defence, he remains behind and get's his shot away. In the 2nd half Havertz got behind the two CBs for an instant but they soon managed to get goal side of him. That's the difference, Isaak and Gordon have electric pace and the whole team can capitalise and break quickly when an Arsenal attack breaks down.
