Hello from the Netherlands . the Convoy song is from the movie : Convoy from 1978 (a year before my birth haha) with the lead trucker "The Rubberduck" . Ian (farmer P) is a good friend to have and one with a good heart (as in being generous and good to others) in the right place . thanks for the video Richard . Sincerely, Hollandduck
Talk to Ian about the podcast he is thinking of doing you to would be great just shooting the Breeze it should be the both of you doing it together like Batman and Robin. ( up to you to decide who is who 😂😂😂)
I work on my own all the time, I lay all the posts out first then move along the line could not knock the posts in without using the clamp, I modified my post knocker put the spool valve close to the mast so don't have to have someone on the tractor, not nice getting splashed in the face with creosote you need gloves and a full face mask, your very lucky to have a friend that will come and help, enjoyed your video
👍👍😁. Love the banter between you and farmer P. We have blackthorn here that keeps creeping out from the fence. They are a nuisance and those thorns leave a nasty hole in an arm. No wonder Buddy likes Ian. He had a heated spot for him in the cab of the tractor 😁👍
Watching this whilst Network Rail are piling the embankment 1/2 mile away - Now that's the way to bash stuff into the ground. Lucky to live in Kent where there's loads of Sweet Chestnut. I have untreated posts still good after 25 years old and now cost less than £2 each. Nice Teamwork from the pair of you. Crack On!
Great video Richard and a great mate in Ian. From all the fans, Thanks Ian. I agree the presure treated timber with the green stuff are nowhere near as good as proper creosote treated, they just don't last like creosote. This is just me thinking outside the box (or should that be slurry lagoon). Is there no way you could have a small tank filled with creosote somewhere and just buy standard posts and dip them? Maybe an old IBC with a series of holes cut in the top so the posts would stand vertical? Something like that wouldn't be a hazard for cattle trying to drink from it. Leave them soaking for a while then just up-end them so the full length would be done. If it was possible it could let you build up a small reserve stock for not too much effort. It's just a thought. Ooo... A haunch of Venison sounds like a great make it meat video😋.
Perhaps we should rename you two ‘The F Team’. Funky Funny Fencers Well done to you both. Not sure you would ever have got those posts in by hand Rich.
So good seeing this from your perspective. Just watched this project on Ian's channel. Nice work both of you - hope you're doing ok and yes I remember Hinge and Bracket LOL
Ian is a great friend to you Richard , always good to have, we all need great friends at times of need ! We couldnt do without our post knocker , l think if l had to knock posts in our ground using a hammer it would kill me now , plus take far to much time ! Thought when l saw the chinook helicopters you had called in the army to give you a hand with your fencing lol !
You might be able to pick up an attachment for your loader with just attaches like your bucket and has a 6 inch square with a lip on which you use to put them in with we have one and it works a dream
18 c here in Victoria,Australia. Severe flooding around Rochester Charlton Echuca, Shepparton and surrounding areas, we have had 17mm in the last week all of Eastern Australia is experiencing a La Nina event for the 3rd year in a row and the La Nina is expected to last until Feb 2023. All along the eastern side of Australia will be having higher than normal rainfall until Jan 2023.
Richard have you thought of putting a electric fence along the boundary, I have a gorse hedge along my boundary with my neighbour I put a two wire fence with warratah standards keeps my young stock in where they should be.
You shouldn't have mentioned hinge and bracket lol had a good old chuckle when you said that because I can just imagine what you pair of buggers was talking about also do you remember Les Dawson when he and Roy Kinnear did the Sissy and Aida sketches. I watch your vlogs as much as Farmer P's and love them both. Hope your are all well keep up the great vlogs.Matt.
To just put the odd stake in why not use loader on your tractor? Use the bucket with a bit of soil in for added weight and with double acting rams you will get them in a lot easier than using sledgehammer
Well it works on our hard and stoney ground, as I said for the odd stake use the loader, not for a full fence run, we use our old 50B, either front bucket or back actor, hell of a lot easier than using a sledgehammer
@@paulweston2326 true about the odd stake, we normally make a hole with our gablic first, then use the teleporter to knock it in, one thing though, use a rod or something to keep it straight unlike Richard using his hand, bloody dangerous really as you maybe seen one stake break in half.
Farmer P saved your day, I agree with the podcast idea, I listen to Just another trucking podcast with 2 of the trucking vloggers I follow and they are hilarious, hope it stays dry to finish your fence line off
Good job you tow did and I used one post Pounder on the Roads wind we put new Guard Raul up in the black top and it’s very heard to take us longEr to get the work done
well done on farmer p and he's post ramer helping out fellow farmer Richard C the funky farmer putting post in at edge in the felids from fan on Richard cormick funky farmer page from fan Stephen forster lives in Australia
Fencing has always been a costly business I remember as a youngster going with my dad to help carry home some wood from the timber merchants and a tin can of creosote and after the new fence had been erected a large amount of it was recycled old wood from the previous fence that had been re-creosoted.
First rule I tell everyone near my post driver if it’s male is don’t put your hand where you wouldn’t put the Willy and if it’s a female helper they are generally safer around a post driver maybe that’s why they live longer
Interesting vlog. Though when you wear that blue overalls and blue woolly hat you look like Papa Smurf. Farmer P has some good equipment for banging in stakes easy job . You cannot beat roasted pheasant... yum yum
We use 9 ton excavator for fenceing when I trim hedge back I try and put stabs in tight to cut hedge keeps wire in out of way when cutting hedges in the future . Crack on everyone to there own 🤣
We. Had the same post rammer and did 300-350 yards a day start to finish machine we even rammed in gate posts well worth having a lol easier than a stedge hammer 🤣
Ian saved you a lot of shoulder and back ache with his rammer. so will you keep the barbed wire up high so the deer can go under the wire........ you dont want the deer to get caught up in the wire or else they will rip the fence down again. whats your opinion on deer and T.B........... we find here that when the deer population increses we go down with T.B........ i think you said you got a bit of trouble with T.B again
3640 with a job like that normaly a contracters job or like yourself help from a neighbour plenty of old fence pounders forsale to do the odd fence posts and with the abundance of them cheap aswell
Where's your strainers Richard??...can't put up wire without strainer posts. Need 2 at each end, stayed tight and then a few in between...sorry but it's the basics of any fence....£9 posts just won't do it on their own. Strainers in first, stay them, then pull some wire in a straight line, which gives you your height for in between posts. Get your hands on some imported larch posts which won't need any stinking preservative on them. I'll stop ranting now!! Crack on🤔🙉😬
You can just tell... Farmer P is one of life's genuine people. Fair play
Farmer P and Funky Farmer should do a monthly podcast.
That’s a great idea!

Very true
Funky Farmer to Farmer P: "When I nod my head, hit it............................."
Liked watching every min off it.
Great video Richard. It is always good when you two get together.
Proper job. Great to see you two having a giggle.
Talk to Ian about the podcast he is thinking of doing you to would be great just shooting the Breeze it should be the both of you doing it together like Batman and Robin. ( up to you to decide who is who 😂😂😂)
I vote the first one is done in full costume 🤷♂️

Great to have Farmer P as a friend. That ground looked very hard it would have caused you an injury if you did that by hand. Great vlog.
Cracking job lads👍
How nice it is to see friends helping each other out, brilliant.
Nice job mr. P. @ Richard 👍👍👍
good job guys⭐️ if a guy have mates like Mr P and Mr C he will never be totaly lost.

Richard great video. Ian is a top bloke. I am sure you would be first in the que to help him out if needed, farming community can't beat it.
Farmer P is a great bloke🚜🚜🚜🚜
Great video Richard and a great mate in Ian. From all the fans, Thanks Ian.

Good plan to run a string along to get a straight fence and a spacer string with a small weight on the distal end to space the posts out as you go.
Great job guys in sunny and windy here in tipperary ireland
Well done to both of you
Perhaps we should rename you two ‘The F Team’. Funky Funny Fencers

Now we know what’s going on to funky farmers Christmas list
You might be able to pick up an attachment for your loader with just attaches like your bucket and has a 6 inch square with a lip on which you use to put them in with we have one and it works a dream
Great video Richard
Briliant vid just goes to show how good friends help each other when needed, you are both good country men

Hell of a crop of fence posts 😁👍
Thanks farmer p for help 👍👍
Great video 2 very good mates helping each other out its how farmer's should work especially with how expensive things are getting..
You shouldn't have mentioned hinge and bracket lol had a good old chuckle when you said that because I can just imagine what you pair of buggers was talking about also do you remember Les Dawson when he and Roy Kinnear did the Sissy and Aida sketches. Richard...did you consider putting in big end post to anchor the barbed wire...it gives a mighty strain to the wire and a much better fence....❤
Needs a strainer
"How bout ya big Ben this here's the rubber duck you got a copy on me" 😆 🤣
To just put the odd stake in why not use loader on your tractor? Use the bucket with a bit of soil in for added weight and with double acting rams you will get them in a lot easier than using sledgehammer
It doesn’t work like that unfortunately, you can see in his video how much it takes to knock posts in against the hedge, hard and dry ground.
Well it works on our hard and stoney ground, as I said for the odd stake use the loader, not for a full fence run, we use our old 50B, either front bucket or back actor, hell of a lot easier than using a sledgehammer

Farmer P to the rescue . You be on all day doing that yourself and a man in your health
always nice to see u and farmer p together crack on lads
Hi gents it's nice to see best friends helping each other out well done to both of you and a very good video and stay safe
Can you imagine a towny driving down the road and meeting that?it must get the looks driving down the road
Thank you Farmer P, enjoyed seeing the rammer in action. So will there be some work on the hedge itself at some point to get growth going in the gaps?
Well done Farmer P. So much easier with 2 people.
Farmer P saved your day, I agree with the podcast idea, I listen to Just another trucking podcast with 2 of the trucking vloggers I follow and they are hilarious, hope it stays dry to finish your fence line off
Good fences, good neighbours 👍
I'm betting P would be happy to know that there's a simple bracket that'll mount that P220 on his Doosan. Also a front-loader bracket design as well.
Great job will u mind your self ur working to hard tc
Good job you tow did and I used one post Pounder on the Roads wind we put new Guard Raul up in the black top and it’s very heard to take us longEr to get the work done
Not sure about Hinge and Bracket but you too remind me of Cissie and Ada (if you know you know) 😅😅😅
You've got a good mate there Richard but I'm sure you know that. Do you think an old style cutter bar hedge cutter was better for the hedges.
Does the creasote not burn the younger inqiuzitive cattle or do they quickly learn not to. Remember Biscuit is a she and chief supervisor.
farmer p knew what to bring and it makes sense rather than fight with brambles looks nicer
well done on farmer p and he's post ramer helping out fellow farmer Richard C the funky farmer putting post in at edge in the felids from fan on Richard cormick funky farmer page from fan Stephen forster lives in Australia
you should buy standard stakes and paint burnt oil onto them. They last longer and save money
Just to tell you burnt oil has no ability to preserve wood unless it’s used to dilute creosote
Most creosoot stakes that break around here either get a horse (horsefarm here) or a machine bashing it. But they did get more expensive lately..
the song you was butchering is
COVOY
from the film
errmm
let me take a guess
oh yeh
CONVOY
Veronica would be so proud of you
HAHAHAHA

A very good Saturday afternoon to you all
Interesting vlog. Though when you wear that blue overalls and blue woolly hat you look like Papa Smurf. Farmer P has some good equipment for banging in stakes easy job . You cannot beat roasted pheasant... yum yum
That Farmer P is certainly a Good Egg!
We use 9 ton excavator for fenceing when I trim hedge back I try and put stabs in tight to cut hedge keeps wire in out of way when cutting hedges in the future . Crack on everyone to there own 🤣
Once you use a post knocker you will see how easy and quick it is
is your trailer made by charles marshall richard?red name plate in middle of headboard,my late dad had 1 nearly identicle of it
yes it is
Venison is very tasty when cooked on an outdoor grill.
You might need a bucket to carry a tune! 😊
it looks great you to remind me of the Chuckle Brothers
Trying holding the post straight for the knocker was on the gimp proper
We. Had the same post rammer and did 300-350 yards a day start to finish machine we even rammed in gate posts well worth having a lol easier than a stedge hammer 🤣
Class vid once again. Who’s is the abbey tanker in your feild

Great
Hi Richard great video I wish I had a post rammer
3640 with a job like that normaly a contracters job or like yourself help from a neighbour plenty of old fence pounders forsale to do the odd fence posts and with the abundance of them cheap aswell
We used to sit are stakes in a drum of old oil for 12 months to stop then going rotten instead of paying exs tea for ones already treated
Brilliant post knocker far better than using the man killer ie the Drival.
defo looks nicer trimmmed up and posts banged in
You two are more Statler and Waldorf than Hinge n Bracket.
Cracking video Richard. Crack on 👍
Top guy is Farmer P 👍🏻

So much quicker with a fence post ramer ,, I think you and farmer p should do a Friday night live video,,, perhaps you could call it chewing the cud
🤣🤣🤣
