    To give an idea of high end expenses: Time Square NY City small 1 bedroom - $4600 rent (that's a very good deal). Total monthly expenses, Including rent, with controlled spending, and with very controlled eating out - almost $11k. Besides, NYC has both high state taxes and city taxes. Everything is extremely expensive in the Time Square area for anyone who lives there. (Surprisingly, you can get some cheap foods there but you can't eat that all the time every day).
    So, if you earn one crore, you will not be able to get accommodation. To be eligible to get a room on rent, you must show that you earn at least 40 times the monthly rent, which is more than 2 crores. But again, salaries don't mean the same things, given the horrendous expenses.

    • @rho992
      @rho992 Год назад +5

      You are taking an extreme example, have you seen rents in Mumbai? 1BHK rent in south Mumbai is in excess of $1000 Dollars but salaries are 10 times less than Manhattan for same jobs.
      A car is cheaper is USA, baaki goods are also same price... so lifestyle is much higher...

    • @amrahs6999
      @amrahs6999 Год назад +2

      Yea but a guy working in NYC will probably be earning way more than a 1 cr. For example, consultants after MBA easily earn 175000 USD base pay excluding performance bonus and sign on bonus. Which is around 1.4 cr ( only the base pay ).

    I have 2 helpers for my ailing mom, 2 maids for cooking and cleaning. And certainly I am managing all expenses below 70 k INR per month. I guess I have a life style that I am enjoying back in India. I mean certainly the glamour and progressive lifestyle in USA is attractive but what if that starts to fade away over a period of time? Also I guess the change of mindset that happens after moving away from our own culture like emotional distancing from parents etc is something we need to think seriously. Boss, I personally think nothing is lacking in India. Literally nothing. But I also respect all people who struggled to bring a change and moved out of India with big dreams in their eyes.

      I moved to England in 1968, three weeks after I got married at 18. I am now 75. I don’t have any family members here, except my own family with children and grandchildren. I have to say, I didn’t miss the family when I arrived as there is no servant, no one to iron your clothes, do the cleaning and cooking, the gardening, taking care of the children. Life becomes super busy almost overnight. I do visit Mumbai every 2-3 years. So not everyone misses their family, you become busy with your household responsibilities.

That means nearly 60% do NOT speak Hindi (these are not my figures, but the Government's own published figures). Yes, I agree that this still makes Hindi the language most commonly spoken amongst Indians (because all other languages are spoken only within their own States and so have much smaller percentages) - but equally we should not forget that this still means over 50% Indians do not speak Hindi. Many people may understand some basic Hindi to get by in the marketplace while travelling, but that does not mean they have the fluency to understand or engage in a professional conversation in Hindi.

    100k+ salary is good enough only as a bachelor. Plan a trip or visit to a hospital will drain most savings. Now once the family starts, expenses double or tripple. Both husband and wife has to earn to live a better life and that too without a house help. Better live in India and live a better life for the equivalent package of 27+ lakhs or go to USA if offered 200k + dollars.
