Go and claim pension credit if you are not getting a full pension. You should be topped up to around £218 a week for a single person that way, and you will recieve the heating allowance as well.

It is a convention of 46 European countries that form the Council of Europe and was created in the aftermath of the Second World War to guarantee that the different rights and freedoms of people within all member nations are protected. (Britain played a leading role in its formation, by the way.)
Leave the ECHR and that ceases to be the case. We then become like Russia and Belarus (the only two recognised European states not in the Council of Europe or ECHR). With those two nations essentially being dictatorships, their citizens have very limited rights and freedoms.
Voting to leave the ECHR really would be the equivalent of turkeys voting for Christmas. In addition, Britain's reputation would be tarnished to the point of becoming an international pariah to some extent.
