Hey you! Yes you, person watching! More than half of the people watching this video aren't subscribed. Let's change that, hmm?

its been 4 years since this video was posted, and this is the only source I've found that points out the trick with the rar thunder,
    You have to tilt diagonally.
NOTE: Its not a 100% RAR otherwise you would be doing slingshot thunder, but the secret is the diagonal which makes pichu almost stop in place.
    thank you so much

Something I want to add is that you don't need to jump to guarantee that you don't kill yourself with thunder offstage.
You can reset you air momentum if you see you're going forwards with one input backwards -> thunder. This will make Uair-> Thunder hit in lower percents.
It's something to train, but quite useful.

Also, another note of mine. If your doing up-air > thunder and NOT double-jumping, you could b-reverse the thunder making you turn around and it will probably hit you there anyway. I'm not fast enough at thinking so I just double jump but b-reversing it makes them only hit the spike and die BUT the lightning blast will still strike Pichu, so it gives the most reward.
I've seen players like Karoegu do this before and it like, works everytime.

Sometimes they fall past the lightning blast doing thunder offstage because... well, looking at the frame data for it you can see that the first spike is the actual lightning bolt and a second spike occurs slightly later, when they hit the second spike than they will always fall past the blast and into the blast zone.
The base knockback on thunder itself is stupid strong and since they don't hit the lightning blast and get saved, they will just straight up die, even at 0%. Unless the thunder spike is too high up in the air in which case they wouldn't fall all the way down in time before they could recover. Just down air them if that happens though, since you'll be right above them.

    Thank you for making this.
About what % should we be looking for short hop thunder, full hop thunder, and I've heard something about a double jump thunder? Is that a thing?
Is there ever a time where the opponent can't DI out of regular up throw thunder with no jump?
Does pummeling ever help to mess up there DI?
Sorry for the questions, thanks for the great video!

    • @BaselardFE

Definitely stuff that should have been in the video, but flew over my head. Could make a part two of course. Anyway let me try to answer as best as possible
SH Thunder - Around 130-40% depending on weight
FH Thunder - Around 150-60% depending on weight
Double jump thunder is useful for catching people trying to air dodge out. Then the blast will hit them and more often than not their stock is gone :^ ) However the opponent never really gets to that percent because of Pichu's kill power, but it's worth practicing for so you're ready for when it happens.
I'm not sure I understand your second question entirely but uh... If the opponent doesn't DI your Up-Throw, Up-Throw Thunder works earlier than usual since you don't need to jump. (Closer to 100%~)
Pummeling will allow your opponent more time to react and adjust their DI yes, so in a way you can manipulate where they're gonna go.
Thanks for the questions, I hope this helped

the b reverse looks helpful, but often it doesn't matter, cause a lot of people miss the tech. trust me, i've baired people into the stage several times, and even though that should be the easiest shit in the world to tech, they miss it. i've noticed that joker mains are far more likely to tech than others tho, probably cause they're used to getting hit into the stage mid-up b (without arsene)

    How 2 Thunder:
On the ground, you do Up-Throw and (RAR) Thunder below them.
On the air, Double Jump Thunder. Pichu doesn't need a double jump to get back to the stage most of the time, so use it to Thunder!"
