Hello, Ambient Exploration! Because I'm a subscriber of your marvelous channel, your "Sunset Canal Walk by Creaky Water Wheels and Flooded Fields in Niino, Japan" popped up on my morning treadmill selections menu. I, of course, had to watch while on my treadmill and listening to my Amazon Music Workout Playlist! As usual, your camera work is superb! Horizon panning, editing, walk pace, expert camera usage were perfect for my morning exercise routine. I mainly use videos to keep me from looking down and watching the clock and distance measurement on my treadmill and avoid having poor posture while I keep pace with the music and watch the landscape. I really enjoyed seeing the flooded rice paddies, the flowers along the canal, the amazing Japanese housing architecture, not to mention those quaint water wheels working away. Thank you for taking the well thought out video and sharing it with others who enjoy a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and spiritually lifting experience. Oh, and the ads were there but brief and didn't interfere with my enjoyment! A devoted viewer, Margie, USA, California, Monterey Bay
Thank you, I really enjoy this area with the rustic rural atmosphere elevated by the water wheels and the trains, glad you enjoyed it over there too! It's nice to get in the zone on a walk and next thing you know the distance is covered.
The continuous, creaky sounds of turning wheels seem to rival the calming sound of flowing water. I like the wooden water wheels that add character and charm to the landscape. Do people use them for irrigation in many rural areas in Japan or just in Niino? The soft colors in the evening sky are so beautiful and relaxing to the eyes. It's a nice walk.
Thank you, it was a really nice sunset that day. I was surprised by the sound the wheels made and they actually were a bit louder in person. I've seen the occasional water wheel here and there in other parts of the country but these are the only ones I've seen that are transporting water to the fields, originally installed in the 1600s they say.
Thanks! Post processing varies from video to video and I'm still exploring different looks to better capture the feeling of each location. In this video there's a colorgrade warming the highlights and some noise reduction due to the low light conditions.
@@ambient_exploration Well it looks fantastic, and your cinematography is wonderful! Are you also using multiple audio sources for recording? I have very similar gear to you, but am just getting into the hobby and curious if you're recording audio and video simultaneously? It seems so difficult to record both audio and video without generating a bunch of noise from walking around!🙀 Thank you so much for answering my nooby questions, and keep up the excellent work :D
Nice, I'm just getting into it as well. The audio is recorded separately on the Zoom F3 and Clippy mics which are mounted to my backpack and then synced in post. The walking noise has been an ongoing issue that I am still battling. I've experimented with different clothing, natural fibers seem to work best, and walking more slowly seems to help also. I then tweak the EQ in Davinci to try and reduce walking noise but I'm thinking of ditching the backpack and finding a different mounting solution. More experimentation is needed and I think using software like Izotope RX might also be in the cards.
