So before buying them I would think 2 times for a service issue. Good sound but bad service, speaker is not durable. The right speaker burned out after 5 months of occasional use with medium to low volume levels. Support is very slow to respond and does not have the necessary preparation to handle the fault. As an electrical technician I simply asked for a pair of 4.5" mid-woofers to replace but it is very difficult to have them. In addition, this woofer size cannot be found on the market because it is a custom made by the manufacturer.
Overall, I don't know whether to buy them again. This was my experience with this model, maybe other models are more realible.

How would these compare to similarly-priced models from bigger brands like Bose?

Bose sucks if you want *proper* music listening. Don't get them.

How do they compare to Edifier S2000 mkiii? I enjoy the Classic profile and use them with a strong midrange DAC in the 400€ area.

If you have the s2000 pros try the 100s or 300s airpulse

@@stevesnodgrass7434 i have s2000 mkiii, and had s2000pro in the past. Mkiii is a huge upgrade from the old pro’s they replaced.

@@ionescugeorge2003 I have heard that, I would probably go with the s3000 pros as well. I really like edifier. I just bought a t5 to go with r1850s it is a match made in heaven

@@stevesnodgrass7434 i also owned S3000 pro, and unfortunately S2000 mkiii beat the shit out of them. S3000 pro just have 7hz more bass extension and higher power and spl, one bass note, no control, imaging and soundstage depth is very weak, linearity and vocal presence is way worse, details are lower. I got cought in the naming scheme, but bigger numbers of the name does not tell the story at all, s2000 mkiii is 1 year newer than s3000 pro with much higher quality sound. S3000 pro also have a “feature” , the left speaker is wireless so they do a double conversion of the input signal and that kills the SQ.

@@ionescugeorge2003 never tried the mkii I will take your word for it. Edifier makes great stuff. Would love to see how they compare to the 300s
