Nice, you've given me an idea for our local canal. Other anglers tell me they loose small fish to Pike on the retrieve. Thinking a smallish bung set about 18" above your jigging rig. Flick it out and retrieve in slow short bursts. Iv got a bag of small sprats somewhere in the bottom of the freezer.!
I just love your videos your like the new mick brown with your love of predictors and there's a gap in the utube market for your type of videos good luck mate excellent quality content
Such an enjoyable vid, we hardly get any small jacks on the Nene, anymore, especially the bold surface takers, think they were the first to be poached, literally🤦♂️🙄😤🤣🤣🤣🐟🐟🐟
Agree camera angle spoilt this one a little. Could only see what was happening at your feet. But keep them coming really enjoy your videos especially now with little chance of getting out 👍🎣
@@The_ginger_fisherman I know that, I used to fish the Adur as a kid and it was alive, now 40 years later, it’s a struggle to find the roach let alone those big old chub I used to stalk as a kid (unsuccessfully). Have to bite my lip every time I pay the EA via my licence
I never got to pike fish but i am a big fan of musky fishin. My bait of choice is the Swim Wiz. Cant go wrong with it. Does dive a bit deep for some small rivers but it doesnt take much reeling to get their attention. Should get u one i use the green backed yellow bellied one. And it works like a charm in all conditions. I have caught a 63 inch Musky on mine along with many other 50 plus
Great video as always, between yourself and carl and Alexes channel, there very entertaining and you also learn a lot. Do you do fishing full time now for youtube, would be my perfect job, I just don't have the quality rivers you have around Manchester where I live.
love your videos mate, but can you either change the camera angle so it's not looking down, or use a head mount for your gopro. it's always looking to low.
Another great video! I’ve been inspired to fish much shorter sessions recently and to use the Ned rig which produced a 2lb perch on Saturday. Would you mind telling me which reel and rod your using? I’m particularly interested in the reel as I need to scale down from my usual bait runners.
Might sound a bit of a silly question but are there perch in all canals? I’ve fished my local Trent and Mersey in Cheshire and have never had a perch! Just started drop shorting and not had a single bite 🙁
Excellent, yet another "out of the box" perspective on the sport! Just a couple of points, camera angle a little low, and what rod were you using, looked a bit stiff for perch, a 2 pounder usually pulls back pretty hard, but it looked like you hauled it across the water with a beachcaster! 😂 Tight lines
Thanks matey. In built up areas i tend to keep the camera a little low to crop out building / sign post giving my location away. And the rod is a 5-20grm jigging rod the perch was just sat in about 8 inches of water when i hooked it 🤣
@@The_ginger_fisherman ha ha! Don't blame you mate, but I think may now have a good idea where this is! Don't worry, I'm not local, so it's not practical for me to visit. 😉
What kind of rod are you using for this kind of method? Recon you'd want a bit of a softer taper or at least tip so you don't tear the bait as easily. Correct me if I'm wrong.
'Jiggly bobbing it' . . . . that's a damn fine technical term!
??? Mate the ole “jiggle Bob” has been around years, you need to get with the program
Its watching Chris that made me invest in another rod, some braid and last weekend I had my first pike. Thanks.

Agree no waffle, catches fish for the camera 👍
Can you change the body gopro angle to make it look at the cast and not the bail? As always excellent video. Cheers
Yeah I’d agree, pointed more at the rod tip
I love how happy you are when you're making videos! Keep it up!

Your the best fisher man you are making nice videos 😃😃 but I’m from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 And keep fishing 🎣
7:58 proper funny to keep that in :D great vid, so jealous of these conditions!
every time i listen to your videos before bed, i just imagine you with a fancy safari helmet, love your content hope you continue producing more!

Nice one mate!!!
Carp fisherman, looking forward to trying something else during the colder months.
Fantastic video as always mate you are one of my favourite fishing you tubers 👍 Keep up all the great work you are doing 🎣🐟
This guy is blessed with that river, live in Sussex and it’s absolutely crap for decent fish holding rivers!
You'd be supprised. My local river is dying its a shaddow of its former self
From one Ginger angler to another..... my ocd is doing overtime with the swapping hands to flip the bale arm over ! Good fun video.

Plenty of pike in Sussex rivers!.
Loads of pike and perch in the sussex rivers 👍

Defo my favourite subscription on RUclips keep at it bro ya doing us proud🎣👊🏻
Stumbled across you channel by chance, and really got me interested 🤙
Great fishing, mrs. Gingerfisherman.
Greetings from Poland 🐟
Been experimenting a bit with this myself with whitebait and minnows. Works well for brown trout, and gets you fishing in no spinning waters

Excellent brace of Perch, Chris. Best wishes for 2021. Looking forward to seeing more top underwater footage. Tight lines.☺🎣
Thanks mate
This is a common way to catch walleye (American Zander) in the states. I have used it here in Germany for Zander and perch as well.
Great video again. 15 minutes flew by 👍
Another great vid Chris, always enjoyable!
Looking forward to the new content, some great ideas, great video some really good fish well done mate 👊🏻
wonderful fishing, thanks for sharing an amazing fishing.
Keep it up.
Big up from Greece 🇬🇷
No obviously I didn't enjoy watching it as much as you enjoyed filming it. Looked like great fun. Great bit if youtube though. Keep em coming.
Nice 👍 video I'm Waseem from Pakistan
Foxrage roach replicants have served me well
That’s one heckuva net!
Super Video - greeting from Germany✌🎣
Another great video Ginge. Love watching these. You need to get a big female pike clamping down on yah finger, then it might worth it! 😁
I aint never seen a fisherman clickbaiting, they always show the reality in the thumbnail.
I aint never seen two pretty best friends
A few of Carl and Alex’s videos are a lil click bait but most fisherman are down to earth unless they’re American
Great idea it wouldnt be sad if you lose a dead bait in a bush on the cast as apposed to a £15 lure im all over this idea 👍👍nice one
Super pomysł zamiast gumy żywiec 😁
Nice perch!
love your videos mate, but can you either change the camera angle so it's not looking down, or use a head mount for your gopro. it's always looking to low.
Jigging's good, but hey,Ginge! You're NOT my Dad!!!
Peter Joseph Jones slightly creepy vibe, eh
Great video
Targeting the slack waters and snags to find the fish in the rising river. and hook up again in 11:12 nice photo
Nice video again Chris

Fantastic.
What size hook and jig weight you using Chris
have ya tried injecting large worm with a little air to get em of the deck?
Hi mate well done, I like the way you are fishing, may I ask where is that area u fishing?!
Really like the idea of that, definitely going to try that 👍🏼🎣
Great video!
Hey up Chris, great video. . .Just wanted to ask about your gloves, what are like and are they any good ???
Just found this channel, glad I did!
You should check out the underwater footage in some of his old videos, really fascinating stuff
Wow amazing vid mate
I've been wondering about this for years
Nice vid mate.👍
great idea 🔥 🔥 🔥 👍
Can I ask! I’ve got some dead bait three weeks old are they any good when smelling as dead bait laid on the bottom?
What make/ model go pro do you use looking to start recording sessions your videos are allways quality keep up the good work 👍👍
Looks good matey
#HTO ROCK FISH - I Love that rod..... I use 3-15 and is brillant ...
Peace Bro !!!
Might sound a bit of a silly question but are there perch in all canals? I’ve fished my local Trent and Mersey in Cheshire and have never had a perch! Just started drop shorting and not had a single bite 🙁
I think most do mate definetly try micro jigging or worm on a float before a dropshott cus ther most likely to get one
I went ages before I caught my first perch on a canal, it will have then in 👍 keep trying different sections
Why no wire trace when you are targeting pike?. You are lucky you haven't been bitten off!. Sink and draw great method for predators
Over 50k subs now! 👍👍
Nice video!
Nice fishing

What sort of permit do you need to have to fish on these streams and rivers?.
Do you ever stick the bait down the fish mouth when you put them back..
I have close to 50 of this size roaches and rudd in freezer waiting for summer to end.
Sorry I from Germany and my ask because I not here is fresh ore frozen batfish???
Love fishing for perch there just pigs for lures.
Do you think this method will work on the canal?
Do you braid for pike or do you just use normal line
Great vid mate would love to fish with you soon please
Swigiing and Dropping on Rocks !!!!!!!!!!
Every single time I watch you I see you faff with the net once a fish is hooked. Why would you not extend it first?
I agree with comment below, want to see where you cast.
What kind of rod are you using for this kind of method? Recon you'd want a bit of a softer taper or at least tip so you don't tear the bait as easily. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You are wrong.
@@Johnnyalexwales assignment failed.
can you do dutch subtitles because then i can also follow it in the netherlands because i can't speak english very well
Love you're vids keep up the work and would this method work in a canal
Ye I have caught pike in the canal twitching deadbaits but try and use sharper twitches and pauses instead of light jigging
Thank you
Just check out "TA Fishing channel" on Twitching Sprats on a Canal. I use this and bang out loads of them. Big ones as well.
Hahah best intro ever
great video - but it's illegal in Poland, unfortunately
The Jack Pike @14.05 had a Leech attached to its right side.
Whats the length of the rod you was using?
I have a question- are Zander not present in the u.k?
@Tony Robinson non-native species, shouldn't be put back if found in canal/River systems
Canals here are full of them, Just watch the "Snagged Bro" videos catching them.
Watch 'Snagged bro' a couple of lads from Birmingham, they have a good zander video on their channel.
Where do you get your Micro deads from?
Too bad we are always looking too low and missing the casting and the fish biting.
Hello the ginger fisherman I don't know if u will see this but if u do can u do another top water pike fishing
I will deffinetly, but probably when the weather starts to warm up in the new year
@@The_ginger_fisherman OK that's cool love the content very positive
Smart idea..:)
I would be using a little more than a 5lb trace.
Where did you buy that bag of small roach deadbaits from mate?
just from the local tackle shop. You might be able to get them at onlinebaitsuk though
@@The_ginger_fisherman ta very much! Top video, tight lines fella. 👍🏻
@@The_ginger_fisherman I know this is over a year late but I'm just wondering mate, why not catch your own roach?
Where did you get the bait?
Have you fished the union canal I'm new and very bad
I'm also pretty new and fished the GU Canal from Paddington upwards a few times. I thought it was empty but then caught a few.
Lively little jack nearly had your finger
Hello! In Poland this is illegal , also in Poland there arent any fish so its very annoying u cant even catch 1fish 5h of fishing
Not suprised they ate em all
Rumour has it if you don’t subscribe the only thing you’ll catch this winter is a cold
what rod is that called
Derek
@@martinryan8101 thank you
