I get that Eddie is amazing. I wouldnt know what to say to him if I were given the chance. But Stone in ways gets more credit from me. To understand so much and to still seem approachable. Without Stone there's no Pearl Jam. There's no Eddie Vedder. Stone seems so down to earth and chill - and talented and committed - and quietly so. He's authentic and straight forward. sometimes the message gets lost in trying to sound poetic. He doesn't focus on that - he's just real. What a wonderful guy
I disagree. I think that Pearl Jam is a Pearl Jam because of Stone, Ed, Jeff and Mike. Can you imagine Alive, or Black without those words or Ed's voice and emotion.. Or wothout Mike's solos... Jeff bass.. No.. It would be something different but not Pearl Jam, not Ten, not all the se albums after... i have no doubt in my mind that every one of them would be more or less successful in music business, they would be known for sure... But in this amount, in this incredible way.. No. They found each other for reason. Their amazing talent and uniqueness and energy collided in one incredible moment and here we are, here they are.. Stll. Pearl Jam. One missing piece and all this would not exist. There 'is always discussion of us fans who' s what... but answer is easy.. there would be no Pearl Jam without Stone, Ed, Mike, Jeff. What is even funnier is that all 4 of them are aware of that. They said it themselfs so many times one way or the other. That is why they are respecting and taking care of each other.Dave (i'm not going into that) was fired but Mike never was. Even in his worse days of adduction, he said himself million of times that he is surprised that they didn't fire him. He said that he would fire himself because of how awful it was, and how he was messing things up. They never did because he was essential part of PJ and of course they loved him very much. Mamason opera, Alive, Back, then Jeremy one of a kind singing voice and Best lyrics someone can wrote, manic energy, then most beautiful guitar riffs, incredible solos, unbelievable bass riffs, how many incredible albums later... ... 4 unparalleled guys, one band, the only way it could have been. Change one thing you've end up with something else. It's a miracle how they found each other.I am so happy they did because i am sure that i wouldn't be a same person without Pearl Jam or maybe i would not be here at all. I love them all.
"He's been playing here since before Mother Love Bone..." That's called "a tell". He could have said a specific year, or "since Green River" or even "long before Pearl Jam" but Stone references many things around MLB. When Andy died, Stone wanted to stop. Jeff kept him going. Even Andys mother encouraged them "Keep going. Just make sure your next singer isnt a junkie" (that's an emotionally exhausted junkies mom speaking!).. so they did. It's all about MLB with Stone. There's a video floating around of Stone glaring at Andy when he's high, talking. Stone looks so disappointed in him. "Bro, youre f*cking up a magic thing here".. I love Stone like a brother. He's a good guy. He's the real thing. Edit: It was Andy's dad, not his mother.
Stone is a heart and soul of the Pearl Jam.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.
It'd be curious to hear a Stone heavy album again, where he writes 80% of it. Probably never happen though, too many songwriters in the group.
I agree. I’d be friends with Stone.
Stone made Pearl Jam great, then Eddie took the creative lead around 1994

What’s that interview called you mentioned?
@@Dacooliest I think it's something like "Chris Cornell backstage with Mother Love Bone" or similar. Saw it quite a while ago. On RUclips.
Real rockstars drive Toyota.
Background music is called “Chinese”, a demo tape from 1991.
4 :45 Jerry Only , from Misfits !! :)
it does look like him tho
My favorite.....has a certain mojo going on.
It's a demo called 'Chinese'
I don't heard it really clear, but in the beginning it sounds like 'Alive' but later it turns to be 'Crown of thorns,' isn't it?
Makes me miss Seattle a bit, but i know the weather on this day was the exception so not that much I guess.
Stone. Was Leah who inspired Black?
