Thanks! - Here's my 2 cents. Mirror - I recall when considering the mirror that it said it would only work on non-porous surfaces. Since I have travertine tiles, I knew it wouldn't work. Leave-in et al - I use the leave-in, twisting cream and oil when I twist my hair. I usually leave my twists in at least a week or two. When I take my twists down, they have great definition and my hair is very moisturized. To wear my twist out for multiple days, I often do chunky twists at night but for cost effectiveness, I use pink oil moisturizer for my chunky twists. My hair does NOT frizz up when I do this. Shampoo - Definitely a true cleaning product. Your hair will be squeaky clean so you need to make sure the moisture is replenished. Deep Conditioner - This is the only product I am not excited about. It just doesn't wow me as a conditioner. I'll give it a few more tries to see if I can figure out how to make it work for me. Overall - I love the line!
I wasn’t a fan of the DC either. I was very disappointed especially since it featured its star ingredient, Hyaluronic Acid. I had to mix the leave-in with the DC to get that slippage, deep hydration factor. I didn’t purchase it again after I finished the jar.
I have to go to Ulta to replenish my products because I love this entire line of hair products. I’m a day fan of her channel and her products cause sis is an og natural hair influencer on RUclips.
Your hair is so beautiful! Givin me hair envy. Thanks for this review! I've been using Melanin products since they came out, too. Since I started using Melanin my hair has grown a lot. But I don't care for all of the products. I agree with most of your review. I love, love, love the Leave-In Conditioner! I think that almost everybody does. It's often out of stock. At first I did not like the shampoo, but I gave it another try, and now I love it. I detangle and/or pre-poo before using it, and that helps because, you're right, it does not have a lot of slip. It leaves my hair squeaky clean, and I think that the leave-in conditioner works even better in conjunction with the shampoo. I do not like the Twisting Elongating Cream. I've tried it a few times, and it just does not agree with my hair. Does not elongate my hair at all. Leaves it kind of sticky, pasty. I have very dense hair with fine individual strands. It ranges between a 3B and a 4B in different sections of my head. My shrinkage is like Ripley's Believe It or Not! I did order one of her satin head wraps. I never use it. It's so much fabric, even for all this hair I've got. It just sits on my closet shelf. I really don't know what to do with it. I have not ordered any of her other more gimmicky products like the sun visor or other head wraps or the mirror. I really wish she would just stick to and concentrate on hair care products. I'd love to see a deep conditioner in her line.
Agreed I think the hair products are bomb and I want to see what's up with the new hair conditioner. Thanks for letting me know about the head wrap I considered getting it but I feel like I'd have the same feelings as you.
She had a deep conditioner a couple of months ago but it was on pre-order only with a limited stock. It's called Plumping deep conditioner (pumpkin, fenugreek, and hyaluronic acid are some few ingredients). It was her most expensive product in the haircare line. With the shortage of raw materials due to COVID maybe she wasn't able to continue with that one.
@@oneflowerlover Yes, it appears the deep conditioner was on pre-order but most people only received their shipments recently starting last month after waiting for over 3 months. Those who ordered from Ulta received it faster than those who ordered from the website. I believe Ulta still has some left. Thanks for your update🙏🏾.
I tried the styler as a one and done and it underdelivered. I love that it’s 16oz. The cost for the quantity is amazing. I also like that the styling cream lasts me up to 9 months before repurchasing. A little goes a long way and the definition is really good. However, it was not moisturizing or a good detangler just on its own. It really needs to be paired with the leave-in. In fact, I feel like you could just skip the cream and style with the leave-in alone because it’s just that good. And I have 3c-4a curls. It’s claim as “elongating” I don’t see a noticeable difference when compared to my other favorite cream stylers like Camille Rose Aloe Whipped Butter Gel or the Curlaide Moisture Butter.
I feel the same about the shampoo but it’s my first purchase from melanin hair care. So I was a little worried to try the other stuff. I’ve seen nothing but positive reviews about the shampoo so I thought it was just me. I have the same dandruff problem and I need a good shampoo that has a good slip. I also comb my hair as I shampoo. But it just wasn’t doing it for me. Also my scalp felt itchy like the next day or two days later.
Aww so happy this review was helpful to you cause yeah I dont think many people talked about this. I'm almost finished with my 3 month testing of the newest plumping conditioner. So we'll see how that one goes!
I love the products, but the syling cream is flacky on my hair and the oil has a strong scent. It's not one that I like my hair to smell like, it meshes with the scent of my perfumes. If those improved, I'd love those too. Can you let us know what you use for the dandruff. I have dandruff too and the Melanin shampoo works but I don't always need a clarifying clean, so I use it once a month at the most.
I use head and shoulders royal oils shampoo and conditioner.... I swear by this and don't use any other shampoo anymore!. Also thanks for the comment!!
Do you twist your beautiful hair. Are what is your patterns I am a hair junkie You name it, I buy it, lol I am just trying to get the right products for my dry hair. Before I go broke, lol My hair is moist when I use my products. The next day dry Thank you
