戦場で無惨に命を散らしていく兵士たちの年齢がせいぜい17，8歳で、自分と大して変わらない年齢だったと知った時に出てくる感想として「あぁ、オレまだ恋とかしてねえな」は不謹慎なほどに等身大だし、これこそ笹川マジックの真骨頂だと思うね。
