Juliet Prowse is the right girl for this part, as supporting role for the lead, Shirley MacClaine. Her beauty is so awesome any man could fall in love with. Have watched this scene for decades and still watching over and over. She and Feank's singing amazes me until today. Nice real-life lovebirds too.
This enjoyable, melodious song is from the movie, “Can-Can”, if my memory serves me right. I wish Turner Classic Movies would show it. I saw it many years ago.
i hate when people say this, its not that modern music doesnt have melody its that mainstream modern music doesnt, amateur artists are were its at, there are still jazz musicians, there are still orchestras and there are still great vocalists who dont sound like whimpering dogs lol
@@mitchelturner7793 mainstream modern music does have melody, organic instrumentation and jazz aspects. Absolutely sublime vocal performance by the greatest ballad singer of all time- the legendary Frank Sinatra. The embodiment of tough yet tender masculinity of his era.
That’s a hard wire to balance on but Sinatra was tough, masculine but tender and sensitive together. It takes supreme confidence to let your feminine side out yet retain your masculine side. Women wanted him and men wanted to be him, including JFK...
What a beautiful arrangement and also impressed with Sinatra singing! I am doing the research and transcribing this song and many great jazz giants such as Sonny Rollins don't play the melody line on the C (last 16 bars tag) section.
Sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Abram Travis Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The chemistry, omg😭 just imagine Frank Sinatra singing in front of you and then kissing you passionately.ok ok just imagine 😁 He was probably relating to his break up with Ava!
@@marilynwillett804 Sinatra had swagger. Elvis was a mama's boy. And didn't you hear what Ava Gardner had to say about Sinatra? He weighed 119 lbs and 19lbs of it was cock. Sinatra's career spanned 6 decades. His music is timeless. He starred in 60 motion pictures. Elvis was a flash in the pan next to Sinatra.
Frank ate slept drank lived laughed and loved on a royal red carpet highwire tightrope without a net and never missed a step, never missed a beat....... He was careful, rather mindful, to set the bar so high that only he could ever reach it...
I can tell he wasn’t acting. He was being true to her. He wanted to marry her in real life but asked her to quit dancing and acting. That didn’t go too well. It must’ve been really hard at that time .

And that, boys and girls, is how one sings a love song😍
My favorite scene in the movie. 😊
For what I know about singing, that selection by Sinatra is just Genius.
His voice defined an era. God bless America.

She was a babe indeed
Underated song
Nothing to add, except wow!
His voice control was unbelievable....

Great song and Sinatra!. Life is good (or was good)
OHMY!!!
wow...that voice!
From an era when melody still mattered. I miss it.
we still have it here and now, so I do not regret the present,
I just choose the bits I enjoy!

I swear to God Sinatra could have you falling in love with "Mary had a little lamb"! Amazing voice control.
Well said my friend, or a shopping list X

I've always loved this song
Its just perfect

G.O.A.T.
The most seductive voice ever. A great song from the genius pen of Cole Porter.

Just perfect. ..
It's by far the best version ever
@BoulderBro999 why?for real, its so mesmerising and primal. I love it
Tony deSare
That was a nice scene.
Frank Sinatra was just phenomenal!
Though I like a lot of Elvis' work, I find it would be hard for anyone to leave Sinatra for him. Just my opinion.
She didn't, he broke it off. She wanted a career, he wanted Mrs. Sinatra..
She didn't. Sinatra wanted her to be Mrs. Sinatra, give up her career or work part time. She wanted to be a star. He left, broke her heart..
Sinatra was a little dude average looking who begged the Mafia to make him a star, Elvis made it on his own, he turned the world upside down.

Nevermind i would be dead today, but I wish I had lived those days

When (not if) Brett Eldredge does an album of Sinatra covers, (dude, give it up, it's gonna happen) I nominate this as linchpin.
He was not only great, but also knew his shit. Sorry for using slang, street or in the vernacular/ idiom but I need to express myself my way.
I can tell he wasn’t acting. He was being true to her. He wanted to marry her in real life but asked her to quit dancing and acting. That didn’t go too well. It must’ve been really hard at that time .
Poor Sinatra 😢
❤️❤️❤️
Frank Sinatra could have sung the "Old Moore`s Almanac" and made it sound romantic. What a superstar.
❤
Got my volume way up,still to low.
Hello Frankie 😍🥰!
Kiss me my darling 😘❤️!
I love his suits ! So elegant 😙😚!
Жалко,что они разошлись
.Ава шикарная жөнщина..Мнө жаль Синатра.Он өё очөнь любил.

Two masters at work, Frank Sinatra and Leslie Caron. This scene gave many opportunities to appear clumsy and awkward.
But ... they were masters!
This is not Leslie Caron, it is Juliet Prowse
excelente, pero me gusta más la versión de Tony deSare.
Too slow.
...tell Abe Burrows.
I don’t care for Sinatra in this movie (too smug and American) and he drags this song which Cole Porter wrote in a more up-tempo way.
