Always start with a voltage and ground check , including starting, charging and voltage drop. That vehicle looks ancient and under maintained. Dude has to live on the edge .

Mechanic told me my 5.9 Cummins needed injection pump too. Turns out my problem was a bad ground. And I needed to bleed the air out of my fuel filter housing by draining the water valve. Every morning when I started it I would bleed it real quick and it would run fine. And finally I got it alll out and it's been fine for a year now. Also sometimes you can add a can of transmission fluid to your fuel and it will lubricate the pump and its good for it. Diesels will run on anything man.

Good morning mark! I hope all is well with you and I hope your staying dry from the storm coming that way. I am working on a 2cyl kubota diesel out of a onan generator right now. We swapped it on to a Toro wheel horse lawn tractor. We completely removed the electronic throttle control and made it cable control. I remember when I worked for cummins see this issue a few times on these units. They are great units over all tho.
