If you can find a WWII vet take the time to listen if they are willing to talk. My wife works in a assisted living center most times it gives them joy somone takes an interest in them.

My dad hardly said a thing about the war. He spoke more about before and after it ended. Not much in between. As for sleeping with your weapon, I did the same thing when I came home from Iraq. Would sleep with my Bushmaster M4 .

May God keep you in his arms so you can feel the love and piece that you deserve after what the German soldiers did to you. My dad was a WW2 Vet. and I tried to get him to open up and talk about his experiences but he wouldn't. You were one tough solider and the world is a lesser place without you.

As the generation from 1925 and before starting dying out, (regardless of race, creed or color) starting dying out was when the situation in the US worsened for everyone (regardless of race, creed, or color)

My Uncle John was in the 26th Regiment, 5th Marines. Amazing I would find this video of a great American who served with him. Outstanding story

I had a grandfather and a step grandfather who both served in WWII who never talked about the war and it breaks my heart that I never got to hear their story

The biggest mistakes of those men who survived the war was 'not telling about the war to their children.' As a result, the generations that followed them was left in the dark as to why the war has happened and how to avoid it. How not to fall victims to enemies propaganda. Now, many Americans were deceived, brainwashed and indoctrinated by their enemies: the communists, the liberals, the radicals and even the atheists. They even succeeded in demonizing their fellow Americans for engaging the war and lost many American men. Now, America has fallen to leftist and may soon fell into communism. America may also fall into neo-Nazism. America will suffer painful death. Tsk tsk.
