Man you aren’t kidding about this plastic age we live in lol I want to say I replaced this starter not too long after this vid was shot, and I got it from EBay, I went through 2 starters on this thing before I sold it. Yours must be a newer version of this one, by 81 Sears turned the engines so the crankshaft was front to back and somewhere by the mid to late 90’s they went to vertical shafts.

@RooneysSears01 horizontal opposed twin 18hp looks like a compact car engine if I were ta put fan on the electric pto with a small alternator . That would be beneficial anyway for that old lawn tractor , the alternator anyway . Maybe a chrome air filter cover , the drive pulley is behind the engine in front of The firewall and I see it has dummy warning lights on the dash and high / low range transaxle that has a horizontal 5/8th input shaft tapered and keyed with about a 10 or 12 inch driven pulley while the drive pulley is 3inch maybe .swap those around , ...daily driver lol..

Saturn it’s great to hear from ya! Ya my nephew scored both of these minis and didn’t have time for them. The Penncraft was in an old junkyard that closed in 1979 and didn’t get opened back up until 2014, that’s when he got it

Is it a Sears like this one? If it is the belt size should be 5/8x82 or 83 inches depending on what engine it has. And as far as it not moving, could be one of many things I’m afraid.belt, idler pulleys or springs or something in the transmission

@@RooneysSears01 It worked fine then I went n reverse to park it and it quit. There is a belt broken under the hood. But it is not theu usual skinny one? It seems to be a couple inches wide.

@@Sydneygirl00 huh 🤔 that’s weird I’ve never seen a mower with a belt set up like that, but it must be what operates the drive I can only assume

I looked again today and that belt is something else. Not sure what it is but the regular belt is fine. Not sure why it quit going in forward and reverse?
