    Hi I have a question, when transfer blood via a transfer device (from a syringe) to a blue top for PT/INR…the vial is filled with blood but it accidentally has a lot of bubbles floating on the top of the vial. Would you accept it after the bubbles settle down or you prefer a new sample? Thanks!!!

      Acquire B is usually seen in a patient with GI issues such as colorectal malignancy, gastrointestinal obstruction, or gram-negative sepsis (where those bacteria can contact the RBCs). E. Coli is one of them. Luckily this condition is reversible when the patient's main health issues are taken care of.

    Can you please help me, I am O RhD positive and produce Anti-E, how does this occur?

    • @BloodTalks
      @BloodTalks Месяц назад

      Thank you for your question. Your blood type has nothing to do with you having anti-E or not. The ABO blood group is different from the Rh blood group. E is part of the Rh blood group. Since E is not a naturally occurring antibody, you had to be exposed to it in the past. There are a couple of ways you can exposed to E antigens such as blood transfusion, pregnancy if you are a female, or needle sharing.

    Hi, 1) Can you please confirm the frequency of Granulocyte Donation..? 2) What should be the time between the two consecutive Granulocyte Donations..? 3) After Granulocyte Donation, how much time should wait a donor for Platlets Donation..?

      please answer this question...

    • @BloodTalks
      @BloodTalks Месяц назад

      It is hard to give a straight answer because granulocyte donation is not established as a routine donation. It is the last resource for patients. 1) Can you please confirm the frequency of Granulocyte Donation..? Confirming the frequency is hard to do since it is on a case-by-case basis because there are many factors involved. The donation center will work with the local BB. There is no regular donation for granulocyte products because of the shot expedition date. These donations are just by special order as the products only last 24 hours post-collection. In a typical series, we do 3-5 collections. The donor also has to meet donor eligibility just like other blood products. 2) What should be the time between the two consecutive Granulocyte Donations..? This is a case by case, and the donation center will work with the local BB. The patient's doctor is also involved because it depends on the patient's blood test post-transfusion. 3) After Granulocyte Donation, how much time should wait for a donor for Platlets Donation..? This is at the discretion of the medical director of that donor center. It is usually based on AABB guidelines. I hope this helps. If you have more information, please share we can all learn. Thank you.
