In the summer, it may be really hot outside, but your irises are dormant and ready to be divided. Get outside early, sit in the shade, and get your iris beds in shape - and share extras with friends!
Thankyou for this info
I started because I thought my dutch iris were siberians... due to blooming so early, often in snow. Now I know so much more about the other species though; I always noted differences but never knew where they came from.
This is hugely helpful! Thank you!
hey, i know Terry and Barb! Woohoo!
I especially enjoyed seeing the section about Historic irises.
Excellent introduction to the topic. I was delighted you mentioned So Van Gogh. I have a few of them blooming right now in my garden. I do not know how well they'll take the heat here in South Carolina, but they're so lovely that I had to try.
Oh my gosh this was interesting! I live in the midwest and I just grow a few irises so didnt know there was such a thing as Louisiana Irises! Thanks for a great video!
Sending you love
Would appreciate the list of suppliers please!
Sure! Check out our (short) video on ordering irises and you'll see a lot of names of online suppliers mentioned.
Thank you for all this information. I have one clump of Siberian iris, blue but not sure of the name, as it came from a friend’s garden and I have also shared it with another friend. I will look for some of the other colours at a garden centre but they are not sold everywhere. Any suggestions where to look in southeastern Ontario in Canada?
