6 Residential Design Innovations due to COVID-19
As the world slowly re-opens, relaxing lockdown steps, everyone is adapting to new realities. Imposing radical changes to our lives, the coronavirus has introduced a new "standard," shifting our expectations and transforming our goals. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our homes have been used as temporary offices, schools, gyms and pubs. And many of us invest more time in them than ever before. Although we cannot predict the future, we can establish rational analogies that are based on the present situation and our first reactions. Architects across the wo...

    a lot of these ideas are just concept-stage and barely scrape the surface. They are being promoted by people who dont really understand the science involved. Some real-world highly useful options include solvent-free paints eg Lakeland Paints - which are solvent-free, VOC-free, Non-toxic and actually edible ! Surely, paint solvent is a tiny concern you might think ?? Not at all - paint emitted 24 MILLION tons of greenhouse-gas solvents into the atmosphere last year and every year (WHO 180 et al) - and these solvents are on average 20-50x worse than CO2. So - if you really want to do something to help counter global warming you could do a lot worse than switch to one of the VOC-Free paints out there.

    using wood may be better to alternative but I think we have to reduce the sole purpose of it for building materials as many trees are already cut for many purposes... saving trees is actually being environment friendly and what is regarded as green.

    • @priestesslucy3299
      @priestesslucy3299 2 года назад

      Protecting forests is critical, but utilizing wood effectively is incredibly valuable. It's one of few truly renewable resources, and any wood put into a home has its constituent carbon pulled out of the atmosphere for well over 50 years (between the time it takes to grow the tree to harvest and the time until the house is demolished.) If we nurture a culture of home deconstruction instead of demolishment, we can continue to extend that timeline with the repurposing of lumber.

    Why is concrete not considered green?.

    • @archworld9951
      @archworld9951 2 года назад

      Concrete has constituents like cement that emits tonnes of carbon dioxide during it's production and application. Concrete cannot be called green unless it's constituents are replaced by greener materials like recycled construction, agricultural or industrial waste.

      Ingredientes Para 6 personas Leche entera600 ml Mantequilla cucharada sopera1 Harina de trigo cucharada sopera1 Jamón ibérico muy picado100 g Huevo duro o cocido2 Huevo para envolver las croquetas2 Pan rallado para envolver las croquetas Cómo hacer Croquetas de jamón ibérico y huevo duro Dificultad: Fácil Tiempo total35 m Elaboración5 m Cocción30 m Reposo4 h Picamos bien el jamón ibérico para que quede en taquitos muy pequeños. Ponemos en la sartén la mantequilla y la harina y en cuanto se funde la primera, removemos y agregamos la mitad del jamón, para que este quede envuelto en esa masa o roux. Muy despacio, vamos añadiendo la leche a chorritos, dejando que la masa la vaya absorbiendo antes de añadir más. De esta manera, nunca nos saldrán grumos, mientras que si añadimos toda la leche de golpe, tendremos que trabajar más removiendo para disolverlos correctamente. Mientras, cocemos los huevos y los pelamos, picándolos también muy finamente. Conforme la bechamel va espesando y terminamos de añadir toda la leche, vamos probando de sal, porque el jamón puede ser suficiente para sazonar nuestra pasta de croquetas. Cuando prácticamente esté en su punto, añadimos el resto del jamón y el huevo duro picado. Sabremos que ya está lista cuando toda la sartén se llene de burbujas, y al remover la pasta haga un ruidito con la sartén, formando caminitos o pasillos al pasar la cuchara. Sacamos la bechamel y la dejamos enfriar en una fuente. Yo la cubro con un film de cocina para que no haga costra. Cuando la pasta está bien fría, formamos las croquetas y las envolvemos en huevo batido y pan rallado, friéndolas en tandas de cuatro o cinco croquetas en aceite muy caliente. Así conseguimos que no se nos abran y nos lleguen con un aspecto bien apetecible a la mesa.
