Watched a few RUclips videos on this before going at it, realized some shortcuts and decided to make my own! Let me know what you want to see done next!

1990 Honda Civic Cut Springs- How to
Shouldve used wires to compress springs
UPDATE ‼️ REAR WHEEL BEARING STARTED GRINDING TODAY.. FOUND OUT MEYLE IS MADE IN CHINA- AVOID‼️
possibly the chillest guy of all time
12:23 reason you put the wheel on and the car back on the ground is because its possible to generate enough torque to knock the car off the jackstands, probably something you wanna avoid.
E30 lug bolts are typically 88 ftlbs. Good job.
😅😅😅😅przy składaniu zapomniał zamontować tarcze kotwiczną i co spowodowało że musiał ponownie ściągnąć nowe łożysko prawdopodobnie uszkadzając je🙈🙈🙈 poorly done job
2 years later bearing is still good no harm no foul
Nice to see a video where things go wrong and you have to get creative. I know the Bentley manual describes breaking the hub nut loose like you did, but why not use an impact gun? I suspect you have one.
Just replaced my wheel bearing. Broke the nut loose manually with a 3/4" drive breaker bar and pipe extension, with the wheel on the ground. Worked easily enough. I have a theory though that because the nut is torqued on to such a high force, the average enthusiast may not have an impact wrench capable of breaking it loose. Thanks once again for your video because my inner race stayed on the spindle, same as yours. Although it should be obvious, I may not have thought to remove that rotor shield for better access. That dust shield ring that presses onto the spindle behind the bearing, I slit that with cutting wheel on a dremel tool, as close to the spindle as I could get, slicing partially into the old bearing race, then used a hammer, screwdriver, and pliers to tear it loose. Once out of the way I could get my puller on the race and it came off easily. I did try prying as you showed but my channel locks didn't have just the right shape like yours to get in there perfectly. Oh, and I anticipated trouble, so I had a new dust shield ring on hand. Thanks!
Dude just used a torque wrench as a breaker bar
Had the same problem with the race getting stuck, but on the passenger side so no wheel speed censor to leverage it off. Had to order a fancy puller and heat it up. Appreciate the video.
Nice man yeah that inner race is a bitch haha
Isn't it better to buy the cheapest spring press which are what like 10-20 dollars rather than losing your eye, finger or breaking bone
I've had those slip off too, and we were 15/16
Very cool 😎
Very nice info thank you for sharing 👏
Update: I plan on replacing the axle nut I damaged probably not safe after breaking that tab. May have put the rotors on the "wrong side" but it makes no difference
😂🤣🤣
They'll be safe I think their using snap on tools 😂
I needed that camo paint to touch up my truck.
Bro try to drop shock absorber thanks 😀
That's fucking sick, cut springs make cars look so fucking cool fuck
Callum Tapper Thats what happens when u get a free civic
Sebastian Butler mint, a got a skyline with cut springs for cheap, the fronts were fully bottomed out and the car got stuck on seemly level ground
Where are your parents do they know you guys are doing drugs ?
you know what's cheaper then 10 vice grips? a ratchet strap from harbor freight. works great. need to buy 10000 lb one it's 15$
Danger,Danger,Danger. Can't believe this video.:(
thomas edwards chill everything will be ok my man no worries here lol
Just didn't want you to get hurt man take care..
Should have used a thinner wheel for your angle grinder. The one you used was so thick. haha nice vid though
Mark Joshua Quevedo it was the only wheel we had haha
don't cut springs.. I just bought a 96 civic coupe and some IDIOT that owned the car before me cut the springs.. the struts where blown he had all the rubber pieces in the top hat duct taped in.. just buy some ebay coil overs for $40.00 and drop your car all the way around..
I think the reason everyone hates cut springs is because most of the time people do it they chop them in half.. you gotta just cut 2 maybe 3 coils tops, cutting it in half literally might as well not have springs in at all.
those e bay coils and adjusters are garbage at least these still expand into the spring bucket and provide decent ride
So mean skate box hahaha
"we got downledge, we got prostate nate."
this is the funniest sketchiest car video I ever seen on the toob
can't wait to start my build lol just gotta completely gut the car maybe even a few windows lol flip exhaust manifold have it coming out the hood and a home made pvc pipe snorkle/cold air intake lol gonna be fun wish I had a friend to work with though lol
all that for nothing.smh.. buy coilovers for 45 to 80 bucks...smh
kamakasii true hip hop i dunno how good $45 coils are hahahah were just havin fun dude
wtf..... woow there lucky... hhaha with hondas n some imports dnt have much tension on the springs but them using vise grips on some bmw n n much more higher imports smh.. nooooo
kamakasii true hip hop were like 15 bro chill
Shock bottom out?
over bumps
Looks like you can afford a $30 pair of coil compressors
It probably dropped further after you took it for a drive, plus at the height it is now you'd have clearance for bigger wheels.
10/10 would rather watch you goons than haggard garage. keep up the good work brethers!
haha thanks brethor
