Chamberorgan by Dietrich Nikolaus Winkel, 1826, playing Variations by Henri Herz
Beautifully done!
This is really marvelous! One thing that amazes me is the vibrato. Also, the "ritardandi" he worked into many ending phrases.
Beautifully played on what is clearly a very well-restored piano!
Thank you. Indeed very well restored. The Gotha Steck piano was restored several years ago by the dealer that originally sold the instrument. The Pianola 65/88 system was restored at the same time by Fred Bernouw
Niels, fabulous work on the restoration of this instrument, always been a big fan of the sound of Hooghuys instruments. Now a question regarding the restoration, it appears from the outside this instrument has a Mandolin register, was this also restored ? I've never actually heard one !
The mandolin action or piano action (i'm not sure what it is) is present in the museum but has been removed for several (musical and practical)reasons by a past owner. That owner made other alterations too. It was decided to restore it in its altered state and not turn it back to how it left the factory. All part of it's history. I'm not involved with the museum or its restoration, just a visitor admiring the beautiful instruments and craftmanship
Awesome 😎 Thanks for sharing this … It would be great to see / hear one live🙏🙏🙏
That will be a challenge I think. The restorer told me there were 2,5 left (one incomplete) I have no idea where they are located.
Crrection: Military march
Is this a military marh?
"Souvenir"
Mars der vogelvrienden (Albatros-mars)
I believe you mean "Restoration". Still, what a lovely piece <3
Of course :) thank you for noticing. I've edited the text.
It sounds nearly the same as the strings
It even uses the same music rolls.
What’s this song title called, can you tell me?
Super !!!
Danke Jörg
Beautiful. A fine toned piano. What is the piece? it is very familiar but I can't put a name to it.
Thank you :) It is an older recording and I forgot to note the title, I'll try to find it, but half my rolls are in storage in preparation of moving house.
@@nielsberkers No worry. Good luck with the house move. I hope you will be very happy in your new abode.
I would love this on player roll ❤
Qui est l'arrangeur de ce rondo ?
Je suis désolé, je ne sais pas
@@nielsberkers Ce n'est pas grave. Merci pour votre réponse. Bonne journée.
Audio is good to me, quite an impressive machine
Time machine to shake Mr. Hupfeld's hand, please. I would love to learn more history of these instruments. They're amazing. And most of them have had longer lives than most of us. And each individual work has a story. Thank you for sharing this!!
would be great to be able to have a chat with Mr. Hupfeld. I have a great appreciation of what they managed to come up with. sometimes beautifully (over-)engineered.
Wonderfull tune it is krasno selo
"Krasno Selo March"
Did he catch the train?
Holland Rag
The tune playing is Ein Freund, Ein Guter Freund. A bit fast of a tempo though. At least the first video I saw of this tune (on another Violina but just the regular violins and piano alone) had a slower tempo.
The Music Rolls it uses are akin to the Hupfeld Phonolizt Violina (both with Violins & Violin Pipes) but the Tracker Bar has 23 extra valves to activate more instruments.
The rolls are not the same as the Phonoliszt violina. The Phonoliszt Violina is based on Hupfelds 77 track roll format. The Violina Orchestra is based on the 100 track standard roll format. All tracks that are in the PV roll are present in the VO roll and the indeed some more for registers, drums and more
@@nielsberkers The Phonoliszt Violina Orchestra is a Special Variation of the Phonoliszt Violina that has extra instruments so it uses special versions of the Phonoliszt Violina Rolls that allow all of the instruments to be played.
Brilliant
I would think mr Winkel did not profit so much I'm his life time as would now with corporate advantages exploiting
Wow! This is such incredible workmanship you have given to this instrument in recent years. Stunning! :)
Thank you. I have started on the next one now. A Blüthner Triphonola grand. But that will probably be some time before that plays
I would love to hear Winkel's "Componium"... Now in Brussels.
The Componium is now temporarily in Museum Speelklok in Utrecht. Unfortunately it is not in a restorable condition. But the Utrecht workshop has build a new mini-componium using techniques from Winkel's instruments. You can see a small documentary about it here: ruclips.net/video/wB6Clafqb-I/видео.html
Prachtig!!!
Lekker bezig Niels succes!!
Succes.@@nielsberkers
Super!
We take music for granted now as it is available at the flick of a switch, but 100 years ago you would have to be able to play an instrument at home or go to a concert to hear classical music. It must have been amazing to buy a piano roll, take it home & hear such works being performed on your own piano. A brilliant roll & a great sounding piano by the way. I love this concerto
