Hello! Thanks you for watching! I appreciate your support. In answer to your question, I think it would be possible but not practical to try to shoot the zig zag pistol by fanning it, old west style. The zig zag mechanism creates a lot of friction and would not be conducive to fanning which requires a very smooth action. Hi, thanks for watching. I have an upcoming video that will release next week that talks a lot about loading techniques. Some shooters will modify the 87 so that you can just drop 2 shells in and start working the action. Mine is not modified because at the time of the filming it was on load from Cimarron to me. If it's not modified then the only quick options are to drop one in the carrier and try to slide one into the chamber. The reason my first shot was delayed on that stage was because I was trying to drop one and load one in the cylinder while I was on the move but messed it up. One of the points of the video is that most 97 shooters load one at a time like we see Dan do and I really feel like if I continue to practice I can bring my time in line with him. We both won our categories in that match anyway.

Thanks for watching. To be clear, I am not paid to promote Cimarron but they did send me this gun on loan to make videos with. When I took it out of the box I thought they had slicked it up, but later when I looked at the wood and saw some imperfections I contacted them, they confirmed that they just pulled one from inventory and sent it to me. I was pleased as heck with the way the thing ran from the start and it just keeps getting smoother. I'm having a lot of fun with it. @@PopLeCorque I’ll certainly give it a watch, my pop pop had the opportunity to buy an original from a guy he met at a bar in the 80’s. Guy wanted $500 at the time which my grandfather just couldn’t swing. That’s his biggest regret in terms of buying guns that thing would be worth a fortune comparatively today

they are using specially loaded ammo which is under powered so having the targets farther wouldn't work, notice how even when firing big wheel guns in .44 and .45 they have no recoil

@@isaal-magyari9203 Hi! Thanks for watching! You are partially correct. There are strict loading guidelines and the MINIMUM power factor is 60 which roughly equals a 158gr bullet travelling at 400 fps. This is the minimum load and is not far off from the power of many traditional black powder loads. One other key factor is that only soft lead bullets are allowed, no jacketed ammo. This limits ricochet. All SASS clubs welcome guests. If you find a club local to you come on out and give it a try. We always make sure guests get to shoot .

Cimarron sent me this one to try out and make videos with. It's taken a bit of getting used to. I used it in about half the stages at the VA State Sass match this past weekend and ended up winning my category. I've been shooting it single shot holding it strong side like in this video and as long as I don't drop the shell my time is about like shooting a '97. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching. When I got the gun out of the box for the first time I honestly thought that because they knew I was going to be shooting videos with it that they polished it up for me. I then looked at the rest of the gun and realized that the wood was kind of rough on it so i contacted them and they said that it was picked at random. My brother bought one in January after SHOT show and I didn't notice anything different one way or the other with his. I guess it's just the luck of the draw! Do you compete with yours? I know I was pretty rough with it in the video but plan to compete with it. Cheers. Pop
