2022 AFL Richmond Vs Geelong Practice Match
It was a man’s game back then
I was 6 months old
I was at this game. Maxfield destroying us was a like a dagger in the heart. Northey and Maxfield leaving at the end of 1995 put Richmond back many years.
What a soulless hovel was VFL Park.
This was St Kilda's 30th ever win against Carlton at the time. Carlton had won 146 games against the Blues up until this game Prior to the AFL era it was very one sided between the two teams. Since the start of the AFL era (1990). St Kilda have actually beaten Carlton more times Head to Head (31-22).
They should have faced Virat Kohli.
The Goggin and Farmer partnership - superb!
This for me was the cricket version of the 1982 RL Invicibles tour of england
A typical Windy Hill day where the school end was the place to be
Was the boundary umpire in the 2nd fracas hit? Certainly got some treatment from the trainers
The subtitles at 4:34:12 😂
I just watched the video of Bredon gale talking about the new Jack Dyer stand - now if your smart if it went rite behind the northern end go big but not happy bout the stand don't built a arty farty stand - old fashioned - from only a 47 member
Very nice Episode reminds my child hood
Little did we know what Fly would go on to do as a professional AFL coach a few years later… coming from a tigers fan, nothing but respect for the man
Fantastic day and congrats to all players giving their time and effort for free to Save the Richmond Football Club
Doesn't matter what year, decade or century, there is only one name: PHAR LAP
Nibble Nobbys Nuts...Ha Ha Ha , erm...NO !!! 😆🤣😂.
Did EJ do some of the call?
hi
Truly an incredible human on ALL levels - focused, fair and self-less. His love for his team mates and the game and desire to help others and give his all say it all. Good on YOU Dustin 'Dusty' Martin. You are a true champion - a legend.Yake good care post footy mate. From a Carlton supporter who LOVES the game and appreciates a real champion. THANK YOU.
fantasic series
Thank You Dusty xo Build that statue!
Late nights listening to the radio. What a great series. Heard Tim Lane remark that a piece of graffiti had the words 'Thatcher OUT!' With an addition 'LBW bowled Alderman'.
Thank you for putting these great vids up. Went to this and most VFA GF , straight off the train into windy hill VFA was great
2:18:11 👌
This was a good series, if sometimes economical with the truth - when Oldfield was struck on the head, it was a top edge off a regular delivery, not a bouncer.
Bloody fantastic. What memories, watching this program as kid in the 60's, and looking back at those days. Lou, Jack Dyer and Bob Davis (or Die-vess, as it was commonly pronounced back then) arguing over just about everything. And who does a live wood chop these days?
Except for the woeful, endless "musical" howling in the background, this would have been a great movie. The natural sounds of real life are far more dramatic than the musical scribbles and wailing of the professional unemployable musicians - can't they just get a real job instead of torturing an audience with musical soap?
Watched it in the 1980s on the government's TV channel Door Darshan (DD) in India. Loved Hugo Weaving.
Very subdued for Rex Hunt on commentary 😊
3:59:40 is the Woodful hit.
Say what you want about VFL Park, but you could always get a cheap seat out there. Nowadays it is a rip off and 'sold out'. Most of the MCG and Docklands is 'reserved' for no shows. Thanks for our tax dollars.
The junkyard doll
One month after Elvis Presley's passing.
The margin really flattered Dandenong
It was very disheartening to hear them both speak about Dustins father and how how was looking forward to seeing his father watch him in the near future play in Australia..and reflecting on what has happened in the past two years. His past few years have dropped he has also had some injuries however I can fully understand what loosing a parent can do to someone in so many ways. Dustin is a very emotional person and his dad was everything to him anc its left a huge void one that I believe has caused him lots of self reflection. Sometimes that can sturr up things that hold someone back. I really believe Richmond especially dimma let the side down all his talk about Richmond being a family Club and what it meant to the Players. Then he leaves his wife and children for a women that worked at the club. Family man my backside.😢
As an Englishman Kevin you can't speak or type a simple sentence in your own language.
Please get this club song right FFS!!! . Its risking head and shin . Until the AFL forced us to sell our souls it was , for over 100 odd years fucking Shin. Captain blood is rolling in his grave.
Could never understand why they called it World Wide Of Sports because there wasn't any other sports coverage world wide from what I remember?! Anyhow this is still some real class of TV coverage here where it's unscripted and it looks like genuine fun and uniquely Australian as well?! Don Lane was also the goto guy for any US sports I wanted to follow as well. Shame this show is sadly gone, after 37 years it's still sorely missed sigh...
And that's the way we liked it!!
The most boring game in the world like watching paint dry.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I miss the 80s era of footy. It was better than the 2020s.
Salmon is under-rated. He still holds the record for Victoria in terms of goals ahead of Lickett, Ablett...
This game I do recall as a point when Richmond really looked likely to carry on from what they had done in 1994. Their big win over the reigning premier suggested the Tigers would really be genuine premiership prospects against the five “power clubs” of the decade - Carlton, Geelong, Essendon, North and the Eagles. As it was Carlton ran into such form that even had they played as they did going 10-1 in the first half, Richmond would have been unlikely to stop the Blues. Nevertheless, it does strike me that this match really was a peak for the Tigers that would not be equalled over a generally awful quarter century.
Dusty’s 1st goal 1:03:33 Dusty’s 2nd goal 1:31:15 Dusty’s 3rd goal 1:58:05 Dusty’s 4th goal 2:18:10
You to get quite few laughs on the show love it matter of fact friend of family on it was a great bike rider, Bruce clarke
humble champ
Hard to believe they'd have to wait another 37 years to win another flag when they had a side like this. How the wheels fell off so quickly. Should never have sacked the coach 12 months later.
1:48.32 “we all believe in Richmond now…”
Hopefully you might be able to share some more of these with us.
That’s the plan David have many more to upload
Yes I agree would love to hear the "coodas" thank you so much
"What am I supposed to do? Bowl underarm?" Must have been a Chappell ancestor
