That Ford van is way better than a Sprinter ❤
Gorgeous! I loved the drone shots of Monument Valley. Nice.
We are still working on drone skills but glad you liked it! Valley of the gods is an aerial photography dream :)
Great episode guys! We need to get more info on where you stayed near Lake Havasu - we are looking to spend some time up there in the late January timeframe. How far out of the city was that ? Love the valley of the gods sequence as well - and the drone footage was great. With your van you have more flexibility than we had with the trailer. Great to see Pia driving the van too. Your spot looked great. Hopefully it was not too windy for you - our last stay there we had gusts to 80mph! We are definitely looking forward to more of this series - we love that whole area. Safe travels!
If you look on iOverlander or Campendium it's just north of the town and just south of Hwy 40, definitely a nice and flat spot for large and small rigs alike (there are actually a few BLM designated spots there so not quite sure on the official names). The weather on this trip was warm and not windy at all. We got pretty lucky with the conditions!
Great spot, the views are amazing! 🤩
Thanks! This is definitely one of our favorite spots to camp and explore!
Looking forward to this journey. Thanks
Thanks Barbara! Have you checked out Moab as well?
@ no my cousin has property not far from there he is developing. Possibly a trip next year
That would be awesome!
Take us back there asap! ❤
It's on the 2025 Agenda!
Chewy ❤
Thanks! We miss her so much
We LOVE Bodega Bay - have to get back there. Such a cool little town. So sorry to hear of your loss - but you provided a fantastic life for Chewbacca so be happy for that. That campground is really nice - we have not stayed there but rather at the state park just a bit north. Love to get dungeness crabs up there when in season. you didn't have any problems with the birds did you? (LOL- reference to Alfred Hitchcock's movie that was shot there). Man I wonder how much longer that bench is going to be standing? It does get windy up there doesn't it - but still so pretty. Thanks for taking us along - we really enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching! We also love the crabs and oysters in Bodega Bay, world-class seafood in that area. Thanks again for the kind words. We are crossing fingers no more loss for awhile :)
That beach looked perfect - Love the camera work in this one. And the drone footage is excellent too. Such a cool place with all the rocks surrounding Is there any camping around kennedy lake ? It was nice you could get a ferry leaving at 3pm, you had more time to explore the island. It's amazing how they pack you guys in there for the ferry - we had the same experience - they were super good with directions so it was a lot easier than it appeared. How was the food on the ferry? On ours (valdez) it was actually pretty good - we were surprised. Man 13 hours... thats a very long drive. Easier in the van than towing a trailer, but still super long. The RV park looks interesting - we will have to check them out - good stop half way up through the state. Great way to end it - with the tribute to the dogs - they were lucky to be part of your. family. You guys this was an excellent series - we so want to do this trip - thanks for sharing with us. Safe travels!
Thanks so much for the kind words B&D :) There are some cool spots and boat launches all around Kennedy Lake so we need to explore that more next time we are in the area. We also saw some folks boondocking right off the main highway. (Not sure if that was overnight tho) haha
You-Clue-Let!
Thanks for the correction!
Beautiful family. I know your hearts have more love to share. Look forward to watching your journey
Thanks Barbara! It was a great trip for Chewbacca but her heart failure happened almost instantly after we got home. It was almost like she wanted one last trip before she said good bye
@ She was so precious 🙏
Such a beautiful spot ❤
We can't wait to go back!
Wow, Tofino is looking better and better. Loved that plate of oysters/seafood - that looked so delicious. And then you added on ! sounds so good we love seafood. The shirt was really cool looking too, good stuff. Doggies looked like they had a good time too! Safe travels guys - we will be watching for the roadtrip back!
We loved it too! So much good food and fresh air. You will find lots of awesome vistas for Dang to shoot as well if you head up there on your next trip north :)
Another great vlog of this area. Love how you captured both the cozy cabin you were in as well as those stunning views out by the sea. You did a great job editing them together too (love the pups on the vouch scene as a transition). Those steaks were good i bet! Great job again looking forward to seeing more up there! Safe travels - Bob and Dang
Thanks Bob and Dang! We really loved this spot and the rainy weather seemed no problem with the nice fire and cabin. Pia is the best editor in this family :) She enjoys your comments about the transitions.
Gorgeous videography!
Thanks so much! We are trying to learn from you guys!
Tofino beaches get muddy so bring your boots! 🥾👢
Extremely necessary, and rain gear!
Like 9 🎉 awesome video congratulations from Brazil 🇧🇷
Obrigado! We are headed north for the next adventure
@@VanDoghies awesome and congratulations for your video 🤝 thank you so much for your attention and I'm sharing your videos here
It has been a while since we have done a ferry we may have to take an adventure. We have been wanting to do the one from Anacortes to San Juans. We still haven't been to Vancouver Island yet we have been to BC many times looking forward to seeing the area. So glad you had time with your family. Looks like the fur babies did well on the ferry!
Ooh yes there is so much to see on Vancouver island and lots of Breweries! The Tofino brewery didn't make our video but their beer was one of Sean's favs.
A wonderful trip to Victoria is via the Coho ferry from Port Angeles to downtown Victoria.
Love Vancouver island! It's been way too long for us. Interesting they let you on the deck while still at sea. When we were on the Alaska ferry recently they did not. How fun to be in the snow - Tofino looks fun, I don't think we stopped on our trip years ago. That place you had was awesome! Great job showing us around - makes us envious ! Safe travels and we look forward to more!
Thanks! Vancouver island is amazing and I bet you would enjoy a long trip there. We want to see the north part that is really wild. So much natural beauty.
If you are ever on BC ferries again you can take the doggos onto the top sun deck now
That's amazing! We did enjoy the back deck but the top deck would be even better views :)
Precious
They are the cutest
I have a beast mode w/Volta and it has been problematic from the start(for some reason the Volta system shuts off and then restarts). I auto-start charge for 1 hr and it gives me a 30% charge which is terrible. On two separate occasions I have called Volta and no one has ever returned my calls. Additionally, they said I would need to change out the digital screen and then update the system which they have failed to do on two teleconference calls. No we have no answer to the problem and I have a bad Volta system in a vehicle I live in. I do not recommend them or Storyteller for putting in a faulty energy system in a $225,000 RV. It is pathetic and unacceptable! Wait till you see the pain in the ass way to update the Volta as well.
We feel your pain! A few folks at Volta have gotten back to us but we had to use multiple channels including Instagram and other methods. Essentially the true answer has always been to go to Warner Vans or a similar shop near you. If you are visiting the Southwest we can definitely recommend getting a full checkup there. Hope that helps a little but we have the same frustration overall.
Hey guys! That 7 feathers looked like a very nice place, heading up this time of year you should get some great fall colors. Great you get a chance to see your parents Pia - it's been a long time! And great that your power situation is well behaved - dealing with that kind of problem just makes travel so stressful. We look forward to seeing the following videos in this series - it should be great! Safe travels :)
Thanks Bob and Dang! We get out exploring to a fully new part of BC in the next one!
Enjoy family time. See ya next week ❤
Thanks Barbara! How is your Mode LT running? We are almost at 40K!
@@VanDoghies great
We really enjoyed our stay at Seven Feathers this year and it is a stop we would do again for sure. Love watching playtime with the puppies! Enjoy the time in Canada and with your family! Safe Travels!
Thanks so much! We have loved our stays there and it gets packed in the summer. The Casino is fun too :)
Oh I want to visit this campground
It's truly one of the best spots in California. It's also a really good time to go because the road is still closed from the north side of Highway 1
Hi guys, I’d love to know about the bed rails you’re using, I have 2 Havanese I travel with. Thanks !
Hi there! We got them both on Amazon. The Front side is the "Dream On Me Lightweight Mesh Security Adjustable Bed Rail - 33 inch" and the back side we installed hooks for the "JE Extra Large Cargo Mesh Net for Trunk, RV, Boats Storage Mesh Pocket Net with 6 mounting screws" We love them both
@@VanDoghies thank you so much !! I’ll look for them. I always worry that someone will roll off the bed in the middle of the night. 💞💞
@@SlowTransitTimes Yes we don't want any pups taking a tumble 🙌
Adventure van expo in lake tahoe? I love aeound the area and i didnt hear about this 😅 when are the dates?
Generally it's every year in mid to late September. Going for 3 years at this point I believe. You can check the AVE site and join their newsletter to get the invitations. It's a great time and they do them all over now! Still a few more in Big Bear and Venture in October this year.
Hey guys, happy 100! Can't agree more on that Ecoboost. We had one in our f150 and while I feel the truck itself was a bit undersized for our trailer, the engine had plenty of power. Those things are awesome. Awesome stuff you have done to the rig - and good job on the repairs... Our backup camera failed (wiring ccnnection on a proprietary connector) in alaska.... thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks! If there is one thing we have learned is that things can always need a little upgrade :) We are watching your new video right now! That beginning scene was humbling and we have had trailer issues too (more with boats but still scary)
@@VanDoghies Next winter/spring we should try to do a meet-up in Death Valley or something... But we won't blame you if you want to lead :). Take care guys!
@@bobanddangsjourney Meetup in the desert is always fun!
Congratulations 🎉🎈 love your review of the van. I also have the same van. It’s interesting our likes and dislikes are almost the same. Looking forward to the two big trips. Stay safe. And see ya next Sunday
Thanks so much Barbara! We are still crossing fingers that our Volta holds strong so we don't have to worry about the out of warranty service. Have you had any issues with your power system?
Woo! Congratulations on hitting 100th episode! I always look forward to seeing what you and the doggos are up to. Can't wait for Alaska and Baja trips. I'm a few months shy of two years in my LT and have been having a blast. The open floor plan is high on my things I like list as well.
Thanks so much! 2 years seems to be a huge milestone for these puppies. Checking the suspension, drive shaft and keeping that power system humming. Have you been having any similar issues or all clear on your side?
@@VanDoghies I had garage specifically check the front end after watching the Russos' vid. All good so far! My only big expense was an expected one -- replacing the KO2s with another set of K02s. I had around 42K on them. Probably good for another 10K, but I was going to be out for a month and wanted to play it safe. Keeping an eye on Volta system. It occasionally just decides to restart. Rare. Once every 1-2 months. I've written it off to heat, but not convienced. I've also ripped the bug screen down. The rubber stopper on the door lines up perfectly with the handle on the screen. They hooked together when I was opening from the outside. Always careful now to push it to the side if I close the door.
@@robertsurtees4380 We are also doing the same and talked to FieldVan about doing the Qlift upgrade while in Tahoe. They do tons of work on Transits so we are excited to explore that mod! We are def going to replace the bug screen too haha.
Nice job showing us the campsite. We have stayed across the street at sunset - basically a big parking lot - and furnace creek looks a lot nicer. You guys caught some great weather. Funny how the pups are just sprawled on the floor enjoying the AC :) . When we walked up natural bridge the wind was blowing strong to our backs... of course we had to come back, and it was whipping sand in our face - glad you caught it at during more civilized weather. We love Death Valley, hoping to visit it this next winter again - its time! That Ramen looks great - we will have to look for that brand. Thanks for sharing this - travel safe guys!
We love that area too, especially in the cooler months! Excited for your next video!!! Saw you hit Banff and Jasper :)
@@VanDoghies We did hit Banff and Jasper. Next video drops tomorrow and if you watch that you will learn why we didn't visit Whistler. So bummed about that we are going to have to go back!
@@bobanddangsjourney OMG that was a crazy situation!
WE WERE THERE EARLIER THIS YEAR, ALABAMA HILLS IS SO AWESOME !!

Is there a place that u go to wash up since u don’t have a trailer? We wanted to camp out in our van as well
Hi there, we actually do have a shower and sink in the Van. The Shower is hidden and we can open it up with a full drain. We also love to stay at RV parks on longer trips to take advantage of their facilities.
Excellent episode! Thanks for sharing! We cannot wait to make it to Alabama Hills!
Thanks! It will be close to your next destination :) Might be a bit hot still though.
Looking forward to Death Valley re-visit! Love the other side of California along 395. So, I'm gonna feel pretty dumb if it's been like this all along, but my 23ModeLT/22Transit just started doing wireless android auto. Have been running with cable for the last couple of years. Both Android Auto and Ford Sync recently updated so maybe some magic happened.
Nice! We have been using the wireless iOS Carplay too but also use the charger to keep that phone topped out and now we have it mounted too for extra shots :) We love this are of the world and will be back alot. (in cooler months)
Great treat playtime. I love the container idea for the ashes. Safe travels
Thanks! We always keep them with us.
What is that thing haning down the door?
That is our new DayLodge hanging kitchen workstation! Game changer for outdoor cooking as it can hang off any door frame!
@@VanDoghies yes, it looks helpful. :) btw I love your videos
@@amykim5325 Thanks so much! We will keep making them if we get some nice comments like this :)
So hard to find campsites there these days - easier though in your Van that us with our trailer! I guess it just got too overused... Love that time-lapse segment driving in - that was really well done - and the weather was perfect for it too! Those fire permits are crazy easy - Its a 4 part multiple choice test that you do over and over until you get it right... if you do everything wrong you will still 'pass' within a few minutes :) But given the fire problems we have seen in recent years I'm glad they are doing something. Nice job on this - we need to get back there!
Thanks! We are excited to see more of your big trip too! The next video will have some of the extra footage of the area and crazily enough there were tons of marked spaces open for overnight camping!
Yuk. It’s probably so hot in that thing to be living in it
It does get hot, unfortunately, but we do have AC inside to keep it cool and fans to use as needed.
@@VanDoghies does Walmart allow u to park in their lots overnight? I remember when I was homeless in college and Walmart was open 24/7, they allowed campers to stay in their lots. Not sure if it’s the same post covid
@@kizbitshello, there are some Walmarts that won’t allow overnight parking anymore and may require speaking to management for permission. We usually read reviews of sites that allow parking so that we aren’t disturbing anyone
Will you have to keep the engine running to be able to power the AC all night? Sry about all the questions. Everything is so expensive nowadays and I’m not sure if this can be a better option
@@kizbits Nope the battery just needs to be about 60% to run the AC most of the night. It just depends on how cool you need it ;)
Please tell me you are not about to make chihuahua-ka-bobs.
We made a special dinner for them instead
Found another one we missed when we were out of service this area is great coos bay is a favorite for everyone especially for side by sides. Winchester Bay is amazing for fishing. Nice drone footage of fhe bay so glad you explored aome of the best stops along our coast! 😊
We can't wait to get back!
So precious
Hanny is growing up too fast!
Such a stark difference in landscapes between Lopez lake and Joshua tree right? Love them both ❤ We have not stayed at black rock before so thanks for showing us around - looks nice. We typically boondock on the BLM land out of the south entrance. That is a nice shirt and a good way to memorialize. The new puppy is so cute - I think you will have many great times ahead of you. Dinner looks great as always - love curry :) Best wishes to you guys from Denali !
Super big difference! Lopez will get another shot for us this Fall as well. Technically Black Rock is outside of the NP so drones are good to go! Thanks for the best wishes and same to you on the awesome Alaska trip!
Hey guys great footage of a couple of pur favorite bays lots of great drone footage from beginning to end. That was a perfe t spot for a goodbye brunch! Looked like you enjoyed Oregon cant wait for you to get back.
