Sorry the market didn't go well. My daughter and I used to sell knit and crochet toques here in Canada. We gave it up after a few years. It is so much work for very little return. We figured out that once we paid table fees, spent money on display items, bought all our yarn, faux fur pompoms, brand tags and brand buttons.... we were working many hours for a very small wage. I knit for charity now and find it much more rewarding. Hope your December market goes well. ❤

Your stall looked lovely. I loved the bags and the hats etc but then I am in my seventies. I wouldn’t think to buy the cute stuff so you are right about different tastes but would young people go to craft markets? X

I changed up the pattern a bit too. I didn’t slip stitch in round 3, I did a single crochet. In the last round I didn’t chain in between clusters and I did double crochets and not half doubles because it looked weird. I also chained 2 in the corners. Oh and I used a 6mm. I haven’t had any issues doing it this way. All my squares came out nice, and actually square. I also haven’t had a huge amount left over. Enough for joining but not enough to be wasteful which I really like.

The first thing I thought when I saw the tiny balls was to take hot glue and wrap a strand of yarn around to make it a yarn ball.

I'm loving those little purse bags, I would think maybe put the black decor on the black purse and put a diamond one on the red purse, I think that it would give more of a glamor feel than a granny feel. just a thought.

And wait until then to ask any questions. As for the cat, I'm sorry to say, in my, not all that important 🤪, opinion, the bow looks like the cat's mouth. Or that it's in place of the cat's mouth, or even kind of looks like the cat has a pacifier in his mouth. When you said collar, I imagined you crocheting, even just a simple foundation chain, with a bell on it, around the whole head/neck/body. I love the idea of a bow on the ear for a female, and the Santa hat would be adorable! 😍😍😍

The left over is for the hooking together of them to each other i.e. sweaters, afghans and so on. With the flower powers yarn.

The cluster of small ornaments with just a simple bow and bells to tie them together would be cute.

For the flower power yarn I opted for changing up rows 4 and 5 because I hated the gaps. Basically remove the skipped stitches in row 4 and make row 5 a solid row

We all started there doing shows and no sales or hardly any sales don’t give up. Try doing bigger shows. I find that the Church/school venue doesn’t bring in the people. Good display just 1 suggestion have your table cloth reach the ground that would make your display look better. Good luck on your next show!

I’m also in South Dakota just starting selling at craft fairs and I am finding it very challenging without a lot of customers. I have many compliments on my items, but just haven’t seen a lot of people attending the shows. I believe that things will improve as Christmas gets closer, so keep the faith, baby!

Church markets are never good,the reason being is the people who come to the church sales are usually church members and friends/family of church members and they tend to buy from the church members themselves. Alot of the churches spend little to no time/money marketing their sales. They make their money from selling booth space and they really don't care if you make money or not.

Do you think you could make a tutorial for the starburst granny square with the Red Heart yarn? I haven't tried making any other types of grannys but the original, but I have a BUTT-LOAD of all-in-one at home!

You definitely have variety, which is lacking among the youngest crafters who crochet amigurumi only, and complain about lack of sales. I think consignment is something you should try, and how about selling on RUclips and other platforms as well. Nice work, btw! Peace and Blessings! 🧶

I did not know you were from Sioux falls! I am a fellow crocheter from NW iowa, just over an hour from you. Craft shows are fickle! We did tons for them back in the early 90s...could never predict sales from one weekend to the next. Dont give up!
