Just Me And The Watch
Добавлен 2 апр 2022
Welcome to Just Me And The Watch! I'm just a guy who stumbled into this horology hobby a few years ago and I thought I'd share my collection and my insights with you. Hope you enjoy it. Please keep all my comment sections respectful.
TYPE XX's!!!
A look at two interesting watches, both inspired by the original Type 20 aviation chronographs of the French military. Mathy-Tissot and Merkur have brought some excellent examples to market and i am fortunate to have them both on my wrist.

A quick overview of Certina and my DS Action Diver in 38mm. This is quite possibly the ideal everyday accessory dive watch!
Civil Rights
Просмотров 173Год назад
My recent visits to a couple of civil rights museums and monuments got me thinking about MLK's watch. I thought I would share a few of the sights I've seen over the past couple of months. Hope to get back to posting regularly soon. Check out @tajwiththesupra on TikTok and @TajCars here on RUclips. One of his TikToks helped to inspire this video.
Sharky Sea Ghost NTTD Homage...Still Good After The Hype?
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.Год назад
It's been a while since Daniel Craig's last outing as James Bond. Purchased during the hype of the movie release, I'll be reviewing my Heimdallr Sharky Sea Ghost NTTD homage. I got a little carried away with Bond's history, but I had fun with this one. Hope you enjoy.
The almighty Alpinist (SARB017)

Is the SARB017 the best of all the Alpinists? Honestly, they're all great. Here's a look at mine as well as a little bit of the history of the Alpinist line of watches. Hope you enjoy. Remember to like and subscribe!

Citizen Promaster NY0040 - The Choice of the Italian Navy

A brief discussion of my Citizen Promasters NY0040 family. A great little watch with exceptional design elements and a legitimate military history. If these watches can handle what the navy throws at it, it can definitely handle me!

I'm finally getting around to sharing my second 11/11 sale watch with you. Pagani's attempt at a datejust homage. Honestly, very well done. Hope you enjoy the video. #pagani #datejust #aliexpress
The Steeldive Slim Turtle
Просмотров 9 тыс.Год назад
I picked up a slim turtle homage during the Aliexpress 11/11 sale and I thought I would share my first impressions. All in all, a pretty decent value for the money!
Beautiful
Itilian miltary's reputation not matching this watches'.😂
Thank you for the Certina history. I too own a 38mm DS Diver and I love wearing it. This from a guy who owns a 16610 Sub and an Omega SMP300. I still wear my Sub and Omega but Certina definitely gets more wrist time.
Ich kann die 38er nur empfehlen. Sie passt hervorragend an mein 16,5cm Handgelenk
Great video about a great watch.
Calling it a "crows foot" avoids copyright issues but the Ministry of Defence logo is correctly called the Broad Arrow.
Brilliant narration in this video, bruh. Great job on a fine looking watch. Still trying to get one but the prices nowadays are ridiculous
Forget the cool watch.. where is the pup?
Great video ! Thanks for sharing ! I love this watch too (good tech specification, nice … and affordable 😊). I didn’t know before this video that it was the choice for Italian military marina
You really know your stuff dude. A truly beautiful collection.
Recently i bought the new Version NY0086 (Coke) with hacking an handwinding for my collection. It soon became my daily reliable, accurate and great looking beater. I love it.
Thank you for this review. I've got and enjoy both watches although my Merkur has a solid caseback, sadly. I also have the Massey Tissot Type 21 Flyback with an ETA quartz. Good affordable homages of Air force chronos are rare. There is also the Baltany Model S205054, a quality Type 20 with a Miyota 6S21, and a San Martin (SN00127 I think). Last year Breguet re issued both their Type XX and Type 20, but I don't like the new hands they put on the XX and its date window at 4 and half. Their price tag is close to 20K$ !
good content sir keep creating :)
Great review. I love your channel. One observation, though. I thought that you referred to the Willard as an homage to the Seiko 6309. However, I believe Steeldive's Willard is an homage to the Seiko 6105-8110. I could be wrong.
Great review. I have the 43mm version with ceramic bezel and micro adjustable wrist. I love it.
Great video.
The watch that started my collecting again was the steeldive sub hulk and was so surprised how good it was ive now got four other steeldives and yes the willard is an awesome watch considering i got that one for about 80 GBP which is just amazing for the quality watch your getting, thanks for another great review.
Good to see you back !
I love the look of the titanium version but I prefer the heft of steel.
3:23 - yeah you’re into divers alright! Was how I got into watches too.
Certina certainly has a cool history. I like the DS Action Diver and have had my eye on it for a while. I agree they’re underrated. Something very cool and vintage feeling about that bezel. Thanks for the enjoyable video. 😊
Really good video 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I was trying to find Malcolm’s watch
Great video! I already subscribed 👍🏼 As a Bond movies’ fan, I appreciated the intro information. One thing that keeps me from buying this watch is the heavy blue coating on the glass. The rest works just fine. Thanks for sharing your experiences with it.
A nice measured review of a model thaat I've not heard of. The Phylida, I had. My son has the Pagani version of this version of this watch which isn't bad. I have the Goldeneye Omega and Casino Royale Planet Ocean. You didn't mention that the Seamaster was also used in Die Another Day. Nice video from a Bond fan! 😁
You can black mirror polish this watch yourself. It looks amazing.
Great approach and review.
This review was top tier, I look forward to you other reviews
After swapping my tissot watches for a far superior steeldive i wanted another, this video helped me decide i need one of these for my collection, thank you.
Calm, clear and a real pleasure to watch. The kind of review i like to see. Kudos! Well done, Sir. Suscribed. Cheers,
I have one of these, superb watch!
Okay, so I'm just gonna say it. Best Alpinist/017 history and review I've seen. And you know we watch (no pun) all the reviews. I'm acquainted with the Laurel history, and I agree that the 017 was a perfect evolution of those original concepts. 👍🏽⌚⌚⌚
Hands down, the best review of this watch on the internet! You've 1000% sold me on one! Fantastic review sir!! Keep up the amazing work!
6:00 That SARB015 reminds me of my currently lusted-after Sinn556i RS 🤤 Great dial + handset for clarity. EDIT- ...but is absolutely *not* what I envision when thinking "Alpinist". The classic green + cathedral hands for the "W".
*Outstanding!* The OG SARB017 is on my shortlist for sure; it is just perfectly unique. The new version just doesn't have "it" (but it does have that heinous "X" Prospex logo and the ridiculous cyclops lens). I recently obtained another "always wanted" list - my Sinn 104i St Sa A (grey, H-link). The Sinn 556i RS i it a SARB017 is next. Between those 3 watches and a G-shock 5610U, I'd have all the watches I'd ever "need". But, you know... 💸💸💸 It never ends. Great vid, glad to be onboard with your burgeoning channel. 👍 I really like how you lay groundwork with a bit of history before getting into the watch. Great format 🥂
How are these in the water
I was in watches of Switzerland (London branch) today wearing my 033 and had 2 admiring glances from salespeople wanting to know what watch I was wearing ! Surrounded by many countless watches far greater in value yet didn’t feel at all out of place
Hey there - nice review..what is the model number of this specific Steel Dive watch?
New Sub, good stuff sir
Hi! Nice review my friend. Have you prove the v2 of this watch?
Fine vid!😊
I have the full lume version, with the updated movement (it hacks now). The only thing I dislike is the metal bracelet, since it's links are folded metal. Anyway, I put it on a tropic rubber strap, and the watch is awesome now. Citizen is very underestimated. Nice video btw!
FYI, Long Island watch makes a nice aftermarket bracelet for the promaster
Great video, greetings from México❤
great channel, need more volume, please. Hard to hear you.
Great video bro, very informative & done right in my opinion as a owner, collector & fan of all tool watches, I personally have the full lume version with updated hacking movement, from Italy of course 👍
Great video. Subscribed
Really interesting video, I'm a big simpathiser of the the Black panthers and love watches as well.
Excellent video. I like how you combined your recent travels, and interest in the Civil Rights movement along with your interest in wrist watches. I've often wondered what notable politicians choose to wear. Controversy seems to come from anything in politics, so I'm curious what politicians wear in public as opposed to private. Recently, president Emmanuel Macron of France apparently had some recent controversy, as he was shown to remove a wrist watch before a TV interview. Some were claiming it was an expensive FP Journe luxury watch ⌚
I love the backstory you included about Ian Fleming, especially the references in the original books, albeit infrequent and brief, of the description of the watch James Bond wore. Nice editing, production for the video. Your channel is really excellent, you should have thousands of subscribers, tens of thousands, millions!! I'd like to see you start another RUclips channel with all kinds of other content, including stuff with your doggie 🐕🐶
My diver watchs is etarios watchs very good
They have a white face dial one and that the only one I'd ever buy...if not just buy another seiko. They actually much better but I'd buy the white dial one
