I’m currently a LPN and thinking of going get my RN. I found your channel in the process of trying to decide what to do. Any thoughts/advice you can share? So many nurses post how much they hate bedside nursing. It’s really making me question my decision to even stay in nursing! I’ve always thought I’d be happy doing medsurg but the horror stories I’m hearing are so discouraging.
@@cherryblossom1735 that’s so tough! I feel like every personality is different!! Where do you work as an LPN? Are you familiar with bedside and/or medsurg already? I am in school with nurses who love medsurg but me personally it has been tough. I don’t feel it’s my calling or passion. I would love to explore other specialties but I do think it’s a great place to start when you’re new and maybe unsure (but not necessary if you know what you want!) hope this helps!! Keep me updated on what you do🤍🤍
@@courtneysath I’ve been an LPN for almost 4 years. I’ve worked as a floor nurse in nursing homes for majority of that time and I loved being in geriatrics, but the nurse to patient ratio was unbearable anymore. Have 30 people to care for, for 12 hours at a time was taking a major toll on my anxiety and stress levels. My mindset is that I know the acuity will be higher with hospital work but maybe because I’m already used to the multitasking and time management I can handle the patient load of medsurg. I’m so back and forth and don’t know if I’m just being naïve😩. Best wishes for your journey with NP school! I always said in a different life that was my dream job. Unfortunately I’m just not in a place where I can go to school for 6 years.

I am new grad and started my residency last week. Sadly I failed my nclex. I am taking it again next month, but I am worried that I will loose my position if I don't pass this time. I already signed a contract for two years if I fail will the get rid of me ? 😢 I need advice

I’m thinking of OR nursing as a specialty but idk if my school has us do clinical in that area :( I wanna see what it’s like before I make a decision.
I have a few friends in the OR and they love it!! Look into a residency program that allows you to transition into the OR- even if you don’t get to do a clinical rotation there! Or ask to shadow!!
