I love this Chorale and Shaker Dance by John P Zdechlik. I played it in grad school band, high school band, college band and my own town band!. This chord structure is amazing as it seems to float in the air! And the way he sometimes uses the chorale structure in his orchestration makes it so satisfying! This is excellent musicianship by the Northern Illinois University Wind Ensemble!

There are so many bad performances of this online, it's good to hear a good one!

This work was commissioned by the Theta Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma sorority for the Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity at the University of Cincinnati on the occasion of their 40th anniversary. It was performed by the sisters at their celebration and later by the Dallas Met Winds under the direction of Randy Bass with brothers performing with the group (including yours truly). I think this recording is from that Dallas Met Winds performance. I played euphonium.
