Making a Play Stage Part 2: Rough Build-out
Pop a nut onto that thread when you're hammering it in and you won't risk damaging it.
FYI, 2x4 as a handrail is not to code. 3 1/2" is too wide.
This was not what I was looking for but you are a fun guy so I still gave you a like. Nice video
Well done..
Where can i buy the black connector for the bottle??????? Would be a whole lot of help. TY
I 3d printed that. I believe the files are on thingiverse for free
Thanks for the tips
nice
How would you connect another handrail to the post, say if your stair run was much longer. Would you do it in smaller sections?
I would try and keep the handrail as one piece if I could. Given they sell 12' 2x4s, I imagine the stairs would have to be pretty long before that would be inadequate for reaching the full length without needing to split into sections
@@make.believe.woodworking Thanks, I ordered the 12 ft lengths today.
Great! Best of luck on the build!
what a wonderful builder an imagination.Thank you for sharing, you must sell the diameters in Etsy.
I'm all about sharing my learning experience with everyone so I actually make a habit of putting instructions and plans online for free. I have a link to the one for this one that I posted on instructables. Feel free to check it out!
Love the beginning!!
Rather than the flashing, couldn't you have used some washers as spacers to keep it off the wall? Might have been easier and serves the same purpose.
Ya I suppose, but I liked shielding the entire wood face rather than just using a localized spacer🤷♂️
What kind of hinges did you use? I’m looking for exactly what these do!
They are just your basic cabinet hinges. You shouldn't have toy much trouble tracking them down on Google
The waiting was fun, lol. Nice work
👍👍👍
This is exactly what I need! What kind of plywood and finish are you using?
The plywood is 3/4" red oak and I used a rub on poly with a flat finish
Thank you for your video. I’m glad I found it. Im using your video/page to help me understand what I need to do. I have 3 cases of stairs I need to work on. When mounting posts to concrete like @7:32 Would it be unnecessary to put brackets on the middle of the posts or on the bottom of the posts mounting the to the floor for reinforcement?
So, often brackets are used when you don't have the ability (or don't want to) mount the posts to the sides of the cement steps as I did in this video. In fact you can see that the previous owners installed the opposing set of handrails in this way. That handrail uses brackets that anchor the posts to the top of the steps. When properly installed, cement anchors can hold significant amount of weight, so a couple of anchors through the posts and into the side of the cement steps is more than enough. No additional brackets should be necessary. It's been 2 years since I installed this handrail and it is still as solid as it was day one.
@@make.believe.woodworking Alright thank you so much. Going to take care of it this weekend
This is really lovely. Good job! I'd hoped to see you actually build it though, not just put pieces together? Its like watching a 3D puzzle.
Could anyone help advise what kind of material is the fabric of quilting wall? I would like to find it. And is all kind of fabric patches can be attached on the quilting wall surface?
The wall material is felt, and yes, due to static cling from the felt nearly all fabrics will cling to it (unless it's a particularly dense/heavy weave)
@@make.believe.woodworking Thank you so much for clarifying it! Some of felt factories said their felt material can't do it. I am so confused. Maybe i have searched wrong felt fabric. Thanks again, dear!
This is wholesome - you seem like a good person!
Great build. You're kids are going to love that. I built a rock wall for my son in the basement.
I have a little corner in the house that I've mentally bookmarked for a rock climbing wall... One day 😁
I freaking hate carpenter bees... Nice trap.
That's a sweet play set for your kids. Don't get heat stroke! Haha.
Thanks!
Sure enjoying seeing the progress...and your comedic additions!
Love the kids' cameos!
Way cool!
Will you add windows, too? And will you sell your plans after you're finished?
there will be a porthole type window in the door and possibly one or two the ceiling (still trying to figure that out). And even better than selling the plans, I'm planning on creating a step by step guide on instructables.com once it's all finished
Love it! Had thought something like this would look great!
It's been working great for us, even a year later it still looks great! Definitely a conversation starter when folks see it
Wow that looks great I’m going to try this storage size out
I saw someone use a cheap chisel to remove glue, he save a lot of sanding.
Ya that's an option, my chisels are a little abused so they run a higher risk of gouging the wood(and making my sand out the damage) so I just stick with the belt sander. I need to invest in a better set before I do this again
Righteous build bro! And yes... my first question after seeing the trailer was how does it attach. You are a Wildman!
I absolutely love this countertop! Reminds me a bit of bamboo butcherblock. Your sense of humor is great. 🤣👌
How do you not have millions of subscribers?!? Awesome.
🤣 well I appreciate the support. I'm just a simple man, trying to find my way in the (RUclips) galaxy😉. Glad you enjoyed it🙏🙏
@@make.believe.woodworking seems like you're a cool dude, beautiful family. Thanks for sharing. Some of your scenes reminded me of the movie 'science of sleep.' Keep doing what you love and stay safe.
Loved the sanding scene - had me laughing for sure!!
Haha. I laughed out loud through your sandman rap! ☺️ Great work on the countertop. It's gorgeous what you can do with plywood!
Good👍 tutorial sprinklerruclips.net/video/obQQnLBpLSQ/видео.html
Nice footage
The timing of this is perfect; I just decided to make a design wall. How did you attach the foam board to the wall?
The screws that I used to hold the sheet to the foam were also long enough to hold the foam to the wall
@@make.believe.woodworking Thanks!
Nice
Thanks for posting this. I need to make one of these.
It's been a great addition to my wife's craft room!
How adorable with the kids added to your video. Loved the part when the girls were sitting swinging their legs while you attached the hinges!
I always try and find a way to get them all involved. Brings back memories of working alongside my own dad as a kid
Great job! Loved the video. Well I "liked" the video. Thanks and make more!
Haha 🤣 deal! 👍
Great vid mate & the seats look awesome.
Thank you for this video!
Thanks for taking the time to watch! 🙏
Really cool! I'm surprised you didn't add some blue epoxy in there to make it an epoxy River map 🤣🤣
Haha. Less is more my friend 😉
@@make.believe.woodworking but how will the algorithm pick it up?
🤔🤔 you may have a point here....🤣
Such a great, custom gift!! I love the details and the way you presented it all in video form.
Nice and quiet and peaceful build to watch!
Need to put down some tarp under the sprinkler and make a slip and slide! Also....less muddy :) Great vid Eric!
The mud's half the fun! 🤣 But that is a great idea for the slip and slide...🤔
@@make.believe.woodworking mud is great for the pores 🙃
love is creative
And I was definitely wrong on my IG guess. Very clever!
Ya I'm sure I had lots of folks confused 😉 got the idea from a Pinterest post my wife found but then I came up with the coupler design on my own instead of just taping the bottle to the hose
It is amazing how much fun kids can have with something so simple :)
I know right?! We could all learn to see life through their eyes and enjoy the simple things more...
