You need a bigger bike
@@Kyledisieno thanks for watching and subbing, if that was you. But then my wife’s legs won’t reach the ground lol.
@@DustySteeljust pulling your leg, that thing is sweet! All about that weight to power ratio 👌🏼
@@Kyledisieno I’m gonna tell ya right now, stuff like that goes right over my bald head.🤣🤷🏻♂️
Nice setup. any idea what weight you carrry there from time to time. Says max of 11 LB but i suspect that a bit more is ok. I saw in South America they often put top boxes or cases , and no one says anything about broken frames.
@@PeterCichoszewski thank you very much for watching and subbing, if that was you; I really appreciate it. I’ve put my weight (around 200lbs) on it and it didn’t break. My wife and I rode around the block and it didn’t break or bend; that was before the big bore kit. Now I’m prepping it for 300cc.😎👍
No need, I'm contented with the basic power of my XR 150L.
@@gaddelacruz3433 right on! Thanks for watching and subbing, if that was you.
I highly recommended the piston profile should be Semi dome or Full dome to maximize power gains. Also piston must have valve pocket the depth may vary to camshaft lift or maximum valve lift. Cylinder head must ported intake and exhaust. Also you might need aluminum base plate thick enough to compensate the stroke increase. You might want to download MOTORUN ENGINE TOOLS for Android or ios. Just suggesting i hope it helps in someways 😊
@@enge1369 hey thanks for watching and subbing, if that was you; I really appreciate it. Thanks for the advice and I do plan on using the same piston design that BRT recommends which is the semi dome with valve relief pockets. Thanks again, I’ll have to checkout that app.
Glad to see an Update! 🥳

There's nicer oil coolers you can just install vertically looking like rads of the wc bikes (pnp brand for example)
@@Kris-fd9xs thanks for watching and subbing, if that was you. I really liked how this one looks, not as efficient as though. I actually have a Mishimoto 19row that I could use but I want to save that for my Audi. I have seen PnP Performance dual oil cooler setup. He drills and taps the clutch case for the oil line.

I agree lol. Thanks for the support! It means a lot!
Good stuff! I agree with DSG for the win! 🏆 Shooting video well is hard to do by yourself (as you know) editing is the worst and most time consuming part, its also what makes the difference. I am still trying to figure out how to do it all myself. Maybe I can make a decent "ride along" type motovlog soon.
@@MishMashMoto thanks for your support; it means a lot! It would be really cool to compare against a stock cc XR150L or really any other vehicles. I definitely will always try and improve my video content. My next video I’ve already made some parts of and it will have better editing.
@DustySteel Hopefully mine will too. I made a hefty investment on a new camera earlier today.
@@MishMashMoto did you end up getting something 360?
@DustySteel No, I almost got the Insta 360 X4, but I decided to go with the GoPro 13 (creator edition) for now. I want to add a 360X4 at some point, but I need some other items before I can do that. I was torn between which one to get first as both is really the best answer for this type of stuff. It will be an expensive process... 💰 🤑 💸 💲 🪙 💶
@MishMashMoto that’s understandable. I need to mess around with the X4 some more. It has a feature to use it like a regular action camera and take time-lapse shots so I can take some shots of me cleaning and organizing the garage.
Thank you DS(that acronym mean anything), all joking aside I'm really glad to see this. This little bike IS the only Dual Sport that I can buy new @ $2,900 & Tags.Tax -n- Title($3,500 total). So all of these upgrades will be on my radar if I get this little bike & I believe I shared some of that w/ you when we last chatted. Ohh, is that "Carb" the one that automatically adjusts itself even for high elevation riding? I had LQQK'd at one that might be able to do that but I never got any confirmation about those carbs that take care of the chokes & re-jetting..... Anyhoo, I'm glad to see all of this. peace, GB ALL, and have a happy holiday
Racing Clutch too ?! This is just so bad-arse'd there DS..... there I go calling you that again.. lol, go figure but I'm pumped over all of this! So cool, kool, and even kewler yet. Take your time so the video comes out good. Doing the darned video is as hard as the mechanical, one more specialty that takes time/know-how. Gotta run but I'll be watching man
@@diggy-d8w DSG for the win!🏆 Definitely shop around if you can and have dealerships fight for your business if you can. $3,500 is not bad, but you can definitely get the dealership to go lower; I did.

I've got some & I need it to pop back up & then I will be ready. You know the other thing I'd want to do before I add too much "Fast sH!Te" to the bike, the suspension? This one is weak or that's what I was told but hey man, I'm stoked that you are gonna do this. See ya on the next video. peace
What type of fuel economy are you seeing after the mods? Thank you.
@@detectorfieldtests414 thanks for watching and subbing if that was you. I had only put a couple hundred miles on it after the build before taking the parts off for the 300cc build. I think I was getting between 80-85 mpg and when it was stock I was getting 100mpg. I wasn’t really trying to baby it though and was giving it the beans everywhere lol.
What jets are you using and size carb?
@@clevero8532 with this 70MM big bore kit and 36/31 big valve head I was running a 30MM PWK, a 125 main jet, and a 32 pilot. Worked really well with this setup at 5000ft elevation.

@@rnkustomz that really depends on the brands, quality, and size of big bore. $40 carb, $360 head and cam, $175 BBK, $100 exhaust, $80 rear sprocket, and a $40 front sprocket.

Is this actually a viable option for going on the highway?
@@AccountNameGuy works great with the mods done.😎👍 I’m 6’2” and over 200lbs and I had no issues. Now I can take my XR150 wherever I want. Thanks for watching and subbing; if that was you, I really appreciate it.
@ Thanks for the reply, I’ve been thinking about buying one and all of the mods you do helps me get a better idea of what I can do with one.
@@AccountNameGuy you’re welcome! These bikes are cheap, low seat height, absolutely amazing on gas (stock I was getting 100mpg). The only thing they really lack is power; I could only go 55mph stock and would lose speed down to 45mph going up hills. Now I can go 80mph up those same hills if I wanted. With the highway gearing I max out 5th gear at basically 90mph, so doing 75 mph is not hard on the motor.
Just buy a real bike lol

@@RedRideRVT1R this bike definitely gets great gas mileage. Even with the big bore I think I was getting around 80mpg. That was with me constantly ripping it around though because it was so fun!
The road sign tells us this is at about 5000 ft elevation. At lower altitudes it may even be a little better performing. Interesting, now the whole rig has to cost less or equal to a 250 factory equivalent to “make sense”! This would be a great small bore hop-up kit to immortalize. Too bad the back ad pages in Cycle magazine don’t exist anymore. This would be an iconic advertisement opportunity. We need to see more about the build, just saying.
@@Simulera thanks for watching and subbing if that was you! This setup can be had for around $700 with decent parts. The reason I invested in doing this was because of the seat height for my wife to be able to ride. She wasn’t comfortable with a 250 and thought it would actually do 70mph like advertised but we were lied to lol. 55mph was doable. Now it’ll climb any hill no matter the elevation and how long the hill might be. Stock it would drop to 45mph and I’d have to downshift. I should’ve shown more before taking it apart to do the 78mm 300cc stroker build. I should have a new video of that soon.
@ interesting! Now you need to upgrade the brakes and install a fork brace! Very cool. It will be interesting to hear about engine durability and transmission wear too.
@Simulera yeah, the suspension, brakes, wheels and tires will all get upgraded eventually. I will definitely add a steering dampener. I plan on WPC treating a lot of parts to try and help with durability. I’m also planning on adding an oil cooler and filter.
