This video is for anyone with a new ALU cabinet shipped out in late October or November 2023 with the 10940_A18 firmware loaded on the machine. there is no way to update the arcade from this firmware and it does not work with any 3rd party Front ends like CoinOpsX or OnesaUCE. this is my explanation on how to update from 10940_A18 Firmware to 5.68.00 Firmware. i hope this helps someone, please ...

I've been trying to gain access to the Google Drive link for about a week now. Is there anything else i need to do other than request it?
Received mine from SAMS club and did a factory reset to 10940_21 Firmware. My model is HA8802 and followed the instructions to the "T" but when I input the flash drive it just tells me the flash drive is installed and then nothing happens. Any help would be great, thanks.
Are there marquee files with the games for the bitlcd? Or is that not supported with awesomesauce?
Yes BitLCD marquee files are available with instructions within to Google drive to have that set up but it does require extra steps. There is a readme file within the drive that explains how to have that set up if you wish

I'm starting my journey toward converting from CoinOpsX to OneSauce after months of resistance and want to thank you sincerely for this well-done tutorial video! 2 TBD SSD has been purchased and I'm going to setting it up soon, so fingers crossed this works and I like it as much as everyone has insisted I will!
Awesome, welcome aboard! It's a fairly simple process, you can add the expansion packs at your own pace some of them can take awhile to download and transfer. Dreamcast and PS1 are around 100gb each. But if ya need any help just let me know in the comments, good luck!
It's so much better than COX. Easier setup. Much faster menus, overall better interface.
Thanks for the video. I found that n64, atomiswave, naomi, and sega cd runs extremely slow and choppy. Awesome saUce is a great build, much thanks to those putting it together.
Great video! I have my pc plugged in to the new 5.71 sams club but cant get the control panel to register. Im thinking of adding awesome sauce but not sure how or if i want to downgrade the firmware.
You have turn on OTG mode in the settings on the arcade first, once OTG mode is on change the input on the display to the HDMI for your PC and then boot a fighter game or something up on steam and then you should have use of the control deck once the game is loaded
You can also stream games wirelessly over your home network but you need the AtGames application on your PC. It can be found on their website to download for windows, it basically does the same thing just over wifi without the HDMI connection

I'm terms of powering off the ALU, would you recommend still backing out of and closing onesauce first, then hitting the physical ALU power button? Or do you think it's safe to power off the cabinet while you've got onesauce running?
@@vpx_pinball_mayhem you can just power it down, that's what I did and it worked fine.

It may take a day or so for someone to accept your request into the Google drive, as far as the Facebook group just make sure you fill out the questions correctly when applying to the group and agree to the terms
For coinops, I batch compressed all the images/videos and cut down the video clips to 15 seconds and it completely sped up the interface. It now works quickly with no delay when switching games or categories. It was easy to do, took less than an hour, or I saw someone posted compressed their own assets links on reddit.

Every time I try and join the Facebook group it says I can’t because it’s private. I click the link in the description and no luck. Any suggestions on how to join the group?
Hmmm I'm not sure, try not the link but actually search for awesome sauce on Facebook and see if that's any different. It is a private group but it should at least give you and option to join it. Make sure you answer the questions when you request to join

@@dustinmeyer2633 click the Google drive link and request access to that instead, you technically don't NEED to be in the Facebook group to be able to build your drive all though it's recommended

@@dustinmeyer2633 usually not too long, id head to the Facebook group and just mention to one of the admins and they will get you in
Does it have instant video preview without any black screens in between switching? Similar to pandora boxes.
Yes it does, And if you leave it on the kiosk it will actually perform some sort of attract mode and it will cycle through the previews of each game in the library
@@TacticalDingus I don't think you're understanding "instant". Whenever I scroll on builds, it will have a microsecond of black screen. It takes away from the scrolling. Look up pandora boxes, you will know what I mean. No black screen in between video previews.

@@jackipieggif you're not satisfied with side loading a front end you can just plug a Pandora's box into the cabinet itself and use the OTG for the controls
Do you know how to do this on the newer ones that start with the 5.71 UI? HA8802 model with 10940_A21 starting firmware that looks like the 5.71 UI. I can’t figure out how or if you can get to 5.68 on these

With the HA8802 when I put in the usb it doesn’t read it as a firmware update. It just says it’s mounted. Any ideas on this?
Someone of onesauce said I need to put USB in before turning on the machine so going to try this. Also I wasn't sure if file name needed to be "ha8800_update" or "ha8000_update.img" so going to troubleshoot both. Some reddit also said ha8802 might work so will see if any of the 4 work

Renaming to "ha8802_update" without the .img on the end worked, not sure if thats common knowledge but previous video had the .img so it wasn't finding the file. Thanks!
Is the side bezel artwork for each game (that doesn't already fill the full 4:3 screen) included with the arcade/console packsl files you get off the archive site? Or do you manually have to scrape the bezel artwork afterwards? For example, does it already come with Ms. Pacman side bezel artwork since that game is vertical and would have black bars on the sides.
It's already included, all the artwork for each game will load on the sides while you're playing the game since most are 4:3 this display is 16:9 I believe

Thanks very much for this! For arcade titles that utilize the trackball or spinner, will the trackball and spinner automatically work? Or do you have to do other configurations elsewhere to get them to work?
from my experience games that utilize the track balls and spinners automatically work, for example Golden Tee or Centipede just work automatically with the trackball or arkanoid works with the spinners right from the install. if there are any issues this runs retroarch behind the scenes so you can get into all of the keybindings and set what you want to which buttons
Are high scores for arcade games saved using onesauce? Is there a certain way to exit out of the games so your scores are saved?
@@vpx_pinball_mayhem yeah everything is saved internally on the flash drive even after you power off and power on the arcade all the high scores should still be saved

Consoles and handheld won't play. They just loop to the menu. I did unhhidw the consoles and handheld. I downloaded the packs for v2
that could possibly be the issue. im making a new video for V2 soon, its very similar but some of the links are different. i do reccomend at this time you use V2 there's no reason to use this build anymore
Stuck trying to find this and this is the only place I've seen where it looks like I might have any hope. Got a new HA8802 and it has firmware 10940_A21 which it keeps telling me is the latest and refuses to update. Unfortunately, the link for the 5.68 isn't working anymore. Trying to rollback My firmware to 5.68 and the link is not working for me. It just times out. Checked security settings and that's not the issue. So I assume the link doesn't work anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not much of a computer person, just an old man...lol. Anyhow I purchased an ALU from Sam's Club about a week ago and followed the instructions and unfortunately updated the firmware to Version 5.7.1. Without knowing the trouble I was in for, I purchased a CoinOpX thumb drive off Amazon with 7,500 retro games...I followed the directions on how to load the games and unfortunately, I didn't have CoinOpX, BYOG...nothing but the 300 games which came with the machine. I take it that I should try resetting the firmware and loading 5.6.8 in order to get CoinOpX and BYOG....? Great video, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I tried running onesauce a while back, but it only tries to boot, then goes back to the scripter screen, coups it be i need to get a certain Flash Drive?
Sounds like something may have gotten corrupted during the file transfers, I have a new video on a base build for OneSauce 2.0 I uploaded recently, using just a 64gb flash drive
