Family support. One of the most challenging topics to discuss before and after bariatric surgery. It's important to remember that not every family member will be supportive of your decision to have surgery. Further, some family members will not modify their lifestyle after you’ve had surgery to accommodate yours. This requires a great deal of mental strength and support. It's critically importa...

The first year will be the most intense, with up to six visits. After that, we will see you twice a year, and in year three, we will ...

Weight Loss Plateaus after Bariatric Surgery - Bariatric Bits
Просмотров 251Год назад
Plateaus are an unavoidable part of the postoperative bariatric surgery process. A plateau does not mean you failed. To get past it, try changing the foods you’re eating and working out different muscles. Remember, muscle is denser than fat and therefore weighs more. Early in your new strength training program, your weight loss will slow, or you may even gain some weight. This is perfectly norm...
The Pre-op Liver-Shrink Diet - Bariatric Bits
Просмотров 5 тыс.Год назад
The two-week pre-op liver shrink diet is essential. Yes, it's not all that fun, but it offers two significant benefits. First, it shrinks your liver, so we have more space to work on the stomach during a laparoscopic procedure. Second, it gives you a head start on the postoperative diet. Both are important for the long-term safety and effectiveness of the procedure. Don't cheat on your two-week...
Vitamins after WLS - Bariatric Bits

Vitamins are critical after your bariatric procedure. You will take a daily multivitamin for the rest of your life, and you may have to supplement with specific vitamins and minerals if we find a deficiency. Patients who undergo a duodenal switch or a gastric bypass will require more vitamin supplementation than the gastric sleeve. That said, ensure you stay on your vitamin regimen, as deficien...

I had exactly this. Was a scary time. Then I woke up to bilateral lung collapses. So grateful for good medical care.
i had a sleeve gastrectomy 8 years ago.... b4 surgery i hated cilantro.. it tasted like soap.. after surgery I love it.... i also love mango now and pre surgery i loved european wieners... now i dislike them ,.. the weirdest thing is pre surgery i hated spicy anything..... now i like a bit of heat like poblano peppers or banana peppers in my food.
😊
I had my gangrenous appendix rude about 15 years ago. The lapper scopic surgery. I was in hospital for 3 or 4 days. Fell like someone beat the c*** out of me in the stomach area
Same I couldn’t walk properly or stand straight for a few weeks.
I stocked up on protein I loved before surgery and after I couldn’t stand them lol. Cookies and cream premier yuck!
😊
Thank you
Thanks!❤
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you Doctor, Even though it's not a pleasant subject most of us dwell on. They say that most of your immune system is in the gut. So it's crucial to get screened & to maintain a helthy diet & lifestyle. And the work that doctors of the gut do, is very important.
When my gangrene filled appendix was removed I ended up on life support for two weeks I could not breath on my own . I don’t know why my lungs did not fill with air on their own
My lungs both collapsed after my gangrene appendix were removed. They told me it was because of the pain , and I could not breath properly afterwards, I couldn’t breath on my own either . Maybe the same happened to you.
Thank you for making this easy to understand. I thought I was just weird
I think this video should be simplified Everyone's not a f****** doctor..
If you're overweight like me this test is not for you very small very small Target when you stand The collection pot sticks to you what a mess!
Thank you for the video, but I have a question about the cylinders. You tolk about left and right cylinder, but i don`t understand is it left and right on the picture or left and right on the man body?
Very helpful thumbs up
perfect perfect
Is there a reason why this part of the body can't repair itself on its own?
If Cologuard is such an easy test but not as accurate as a colonoscopy, why not perform the test every year insteady of 3 years?
I GOT A POSITIVE ON MY COLOGUARD NO CANCER IN MY FAMILY
Did you get a colonoscopy?
@@randomthoughtstoday NO I DIDNT IT WAS A FALSE POSITIVE EMAILED COLOGUARD IT WAS NEGAITIVE BUT SINCE THERES DR SHORTAGES- WONT BE ABLE TO GET ONE UNTIL WINTER
Hello doctor I had the ruptured appendix with gangress they removed the appendix with the cectomy is the appendix stump removed during that process to prevent further infection
I needed to hear this. Thank you
Cologuard missed my stage 3 rectal cancer, it was found 18 months later by a real colonoscopy. Doctors said i had this cancer for years and cologuard missed it. Went through 8 cycles of folfox chemo, 5 weeks of 3500mg a day of capcitibine, 5 weeks of daily radiation and finally a surgery to remove my rectum. I will have a colostomy bag the rest of my life, If you think a colonoscopy is inconvenient try a colostomy bag. Had my cancer been found 18 months earlier it likely would have been surgery only and no colostomy bag.
@@FloridaNewbieExplores read his comment carefully, he had RECTAL cancer
Is it normal to have pain in the testicles and groin when having an inguinal herni
Obviously what we are told is wrong. It is very simple and very obvious what needs to be done. It is not fats or fatty food causing obesity. It is a lie that fats and fatty food causes obesity. It is the stuff we are encouraged to eat, carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are, bread(any type of bread) pasta sugar (from any source any type), honey rice cerals grains (any type) potatoes carrots pumpkin sweet potato taro (any starcy vegetable), any and all fruits. It does not matter if the carbohydrate food is organic or wholegrain or sourdough or other flimflam distractions. Carbohydrates are ALL converted to GLUCOSE when we metabolise them. Glucose is absolutely essential as it is our fuel, but excess glucose can easily kill you. Our bodies glucoses defense is insulin, insulin triggers our body to convert glucose to triglycerides that are stored as fat. Eating carbohydrates constantly causes insulin to be released constantly and eventually the pancreas wears out and you get diabetes. Insulin PREVENTS your body being able to use your stored fat as your body CANNOT both store fat and access stored fat, it is one or the other. To access stored fat you must clear glucose from your digestive system, this takes a day or two. Most people's addiction to carbohydrates prevents them from fasting the necessary time to be able to use their stored fat. Eating fatty food (with absolutely NO carbohydrates) does not trigger insulin release and hence your body can then use your fat reserves. When fasting you can eat any protein any fats any green leafy vegetables in any quantities you dont need to starve. Although your carbohydrates addiction will make you feel you are starving. Your body will then switch to usuing your stored fat, while you have body fat fasting cannot harm you.....
I was never offered this by the doc. I have no bleeding, and I had an endoscopy already

Does color guard show 100 percent cancerous tumor?
Its not 100 percent

To Whom it may care about? Can a person have a Chronic Inguinal Hernia pain that comes and goes with intense pain and problem moving, sitting, functioning? And also have normal to excellent blood test? Which in fact, this is in my case, I’ve suffered and have very low Rt. Abdominal and Pelvic and Rt. Inner Leg pain. Plus, my Rt. Lower Abdomen and Pelvic, Leg area is swollen compare to the Left side! But it’s hard for an Physician to see because I’ve gain weight in my Abdomen! Now, I was referred to an Gastroenterologist Surgeon for Exploratory Surgery! But if my blood test are normal will the Surgeon want or will even consider this? This pain and me functioning, whatsoever has gotten worse over a couple year’s! Then I fell off my bike 1/24/21 and it’s gotten so much worse! They did Ct Scan’s after my fall! 1/24/21 But nothing showed a Inguinal Hernia! I can’t image any Surgeon wanting to do Exploratory Surgery if all my test were normal, yes? So I’ll just continue enduring the awful, agonizing, pain and not being able function to do, Jack Squat! And when my pain and symptoms become life threatening, I’ll call a Ambulance and go to E. R. Happy Easter, God Bless! Patricia Pantoni Niewinski

@@equinoxeparabellum6776 mine would bulge out small at first even went in the army with it but over time lifting heavy stuff just got worse most of the time I would just push it back in
I wish if there was a more elementary video on the subject.
Absolutely 100% true, food temptation is irresistible 😅 so must be controlled
Nicely explained. The naming could have been vice versa though. To me it’s more relatable that way😅😅
It will be interesting at what threshold for testing preventatively will be diagnostic, and then hold the crown of the gold standard.
Thank you so much! Nobody explained it like this.
Thx
very informative video. Thank you
My dad has it, since 2009. He's taking meds now and it isnt doing anything he has a flareup now what should I do? I contacted his doctor and he just asked him to take meds, we are calling him again soon

OK. Who's aggravating or worsening their inguinal hernia during this quarantine?
