Early in the video when sighting in the rifle the client found the rifle to be shooting a bit low. When the ph suggested that he adjust the scope up a bit the client replied that it was good enough and he’d compensate by aiming a bit high to account for that. He shot that last buffalo high while it was looking at him straight on in the jaw at very close range. Something like 20 yards if I remember correctly. At that very close range perhaps the client was still aiming high and that’s why the shot was so high. Anyway that’s hunting and things like that happen. I’ve certainly had my fair share of such things. All in all a great video, great hunt and great camera work.

Poor Jerry was ducking Charlton's buttstock all through the safari......I guess carrying a rifle the old traditional safari-way is not always the best idea.

For what reason are these hunters killing a Cape Buffalo?? Is it like when hunters would go out make a kill return to the tribe in high spirits and everyone would gather around the fire eating succulent sizzling juicy strips of meat to their heart's content, whilst earnestly listening to the hunters brave encounter and of the skills and heroics they performed to bring down the beast? NO!! That;s NOT the Reason! Do it for fun.....TERRIBLE REASON!

Someone needs to take the PH aside and mention he needs to pay more attention to details AND get his crew under control. Never even heard of a client setting up his own sticks with a buff in sight. Keystone cips.

What double rifle is the PH using?

Come on. This is embarrassing. Shooting buff next to a tar road and people walking around???? Juding by the PH's physique, not a lot of walking gets done.

You know your hunting flat ground when your PH is twice as heavy as he should be , least you know that you can out run him other than to the dinner table.

It's pretty amazing that scope and rifle held up as well as they did - especially the scope. It's also a little amazing you guys didn't have those rifles strapped down a little better when travelling at "highway" speeds. Good hunt so far - I'll get back to watching it :).

Ok, so I admit it's not for me. But I've read Keith, I've read O'Connor, I've read Capstick and others enough to question why would anybody use optics on a dangerous game rifle? The distance involved is "reach out and touch". Wouldn't finding the right spot be complicated by optics in that case? Can anybody tell me? Oh, kudos to the camera man, too!
