200 series Land Cruiser RIG RUNDOWN 'BUILT TO BE USED'
A detailed walk through/rig rundown of a 200 series Toyota Land Cruiser that has been built by me over the past three years. 'Built to be used' was my moto and long range remote Australian exploration is what I do. This is no 'Toorak Tractor'.
Starting with Bar work and finishing with engine and exhaust modifications, I discuss why I chose certain Mods and what I think of them now. An honest no BS account of an honest no BS 4X4.

      Well if you have never done it maybe you should refrain from giving advice to those who have. I met with track a track maintenance bloke at well 46 who advised me that he has done the CSR 12 times and each time was with a trailer. It’s fine to take a trailer if it’s set up properly and especially if you are not traveling SOLO and have some to help you over the bigger softer dunes.

    It's now a walk in only campsite. 10km walk and you need to bring everything, food, water even firewood. The following is from the NSW NPS website- No vehicle access It's a long, roughly 10km walk to reach Newnes campground. The campground is walk-in only because Wolgan Road has collapsed and there's a landslip risk at Wolgan Gap. Wolgan Road was the only vehicle access into the valley and is managed by Lithgow Council.

    Thank you for the video of the Canning Stock Route, this brings back so many wonderful memories of my own trip (with a tour company and other people) on the Canning In 1992. So many wonderful places on the Canning, my favorite being the Derba Hills and Springs, near Lake Disappointment, and Wyndich Springs. I was lucky that that year on the southern half of the Canning had a lot of rainfall and so there were lovely wildflowers everywhere covering the landscape in beautiful colors. The northern half did not have the rainfall so I could see how the Canning would normally look. An unforgettable adventure and one that people should undertake if they can.

    Hey guys, nice video. I'm new to 4wding, just a few questions if you guys wanna give me some advice. I'm thinking to go there through watanga forest road all the way to the top, what pressure should I run on my tyres and when should I deflate them, I have a Pajero, should take me there, I hope so. Also where you guys using differential lockers in those technical parts at the end of the video, those tracks looked mad.

    • @stevenightingall4wdreconau599
      @stevenightingall4wdreconau599 3 года назад

      Gidday Sam For the Watagans I’d run my tyres at about 22psi in the back and 20psi in the front. Your Paj should be fine as long as you are not running road tyres. If it’s your first time I’d recommend you go with another vehicle that is equipped with recovery equipment including a winch though. Just take it easy until you are confident. Better to have fun than to break your car and get stuck up there. Also remember, there is no phone reception in most places up there. Good luck.

      G’day Paul Thanks for the nice comment. I guess you could use beef stock if you want to but I felt the it may over take the lamb flavour. Chicken stock is more mild in flavour and I wanted it to still taste like lamb shanks not beef. But, if you prefer a stronger meaty flavour, then by all means, go in with beef stock.
