Stay strong. You are loved. I'm in my 60's and a widower and I've known all my life. I just do the best I can with my struggle between being gay and mormon. If I were with you now I'd give you a big hug and tell you your not alone. I had a lds pop song in the 80's about you're not alone, even when you feel you are alone. Try to find the song on the internet. When I was at my lowest (yes I've had a few suicide attempts) I would cry and realized God does love my after all he is yours and my father. I'm only out to a few people. My brother joked to me that maybe I was gay and it floored him when I said I was. About this same time I was once again I was suicidal and finally went to the (Logan,Utah) local pride center and I cried and cried while people who were in the same situation I'm in understand and loved me. My mother and grandmother both asked if I was gay and being the 1980's I deneied it. I now look back and now suspect my mum was gay because of some of the conversations we had. I recently came out to my niece because I suspected she might be( she posts a lot of pride flags etc) she's not but she fully supports who and what I am and still loves me. She said she'd be happy to fly in andproud to march in the local pride parade. (She lives in the state of Maryland, U.S.A.) My wife knew and accepted me for who I was. I've outlived both my wife and son so my brothers family are all I have left so I still need to be careful who I tell even though I'm now in a nursing home. I'm now well enough to leave and was ready to go home (brothers house) or too an assisted living centre. I've chosen to go assisted living centre because of all my brother's nonsense. Be strong, you not alone. You also have your L.D.S. L.G.B.Q.+ brothers and sisters who love you and support you. I'm always here if you need me. ♥️

It then took me 30+ more years to gradually come back, not to the religion I believed in, but to the understanding of myself as both a sexual and spiritual being, and to better understand the meaning of my life and my purpose in the world. Don't give up on yourself, on all parts of your deep, beautiful self. You will find your way, I believe. The name of the path is kindness and truth. This is the teaching of all the great religions, though they say it differently. Wisdom and compassion. Love goodness and light (I know you do) and love people, including, importantly, yourself. Your statement is very moving. The most important thing you can ever do is be true to yourself. Regardless of your background, this is universal. Whether you live your truth or fail to do so, that will dominate your life. I am spiritual but not religious and have seen friends hurt by religious traditions they were born into. I have also known church leaders who have earned my deepest respect, and will never put down anyone for their faith. Only faith systems that call out or punish people for being authentic deserve my disrespect. My only link to LDS is having grown up in the same area where the young Joseph Smith and Brigham Young lived more than a century before me. What you did in this video, now four years ago, took courage and clearly caused you turmoil. But you survived it and emerged, or will emerge, a better version of yourself. Best wishes for your journey.

It is heartbreaking that a movement which declares that god is love should condemn one human individual for their love for another human individual for purely arbitrary doctrinal reasons. This healthy moral young man has been forced into a life of hurt and misery simply because he is who he is. If there is a creator of all things, he is as much a part of that creation as you or me.
