V6 MGB GT Exhaust Sound
This is an MGB GT with a Vauxhall X30XE V6 - the only one of its kind in the world. I think I've perfected the in-car recording with a pair of mics, one in the front and one in the back. All I need to do now is record a journey worth watching :D

I decided I wanted to bring the engine up to temperature to see how heat was managed. Everything was going well and then the engine started to make a weird noise just after the throttle was blipped. Sounds like something flapping about or rubbing under the cam cover. So, I took the alternator & cam cover off to expose the belts. Everything looked ok, so span the engine with ECU unplugged & ever...

Finally got an exhaust on it! I fitted an MGB GT v8 exhaust system from Moss. The front part, where it splits to each bank, was more or less right but needed some adjustment to fit the v6. A few evenings later, it's fitted and sounds great but perhaps a little louder than I thought it would be. I couldn't run for long because I don't have the radiator fitted yet. That's a job for the weekend.

Spin the engine over on the starter to prove I have oil pressure before I try for first real start tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll add fuel and then it will fire!

Track Toaster is a simple app that shows a popup "toast" on the screen showing you which track has just started playing. I use this on my in-car Nexus 7 tablet install. You can see that I start the video on CD0 which is the internal CD Player. When I switch to CDC, it goes over to the LaPower unit & starts playing MP3. I love the coil mounted on the bulkhead, looks very neat! This engine is so awesome. I've never thought about putting one in an mgb, basically any small RWD is a perfect place for this transplant. I bet its lovely

Great engines these, I just sold my ex unmarked x30, she had all kinds of little upgrades and got to 160 very easily, and she had 240k on the clock, ran like she'd done 40k. this MG is going to be so much fun..

We were there from Nov. 2nd to Nov. 16. 2018 and going back as soon as possible. 12 times in Cuba, of which 6 times @ Playa Pesquero. One of the most beautiful resorts we've been to. Excellent service, very good food, nice beach, room very clean, gardening very nice, terrific resort. Great mix of old and young. Noting to complain about.

Hi Ian, I really love your work and it looks tidy and nice. my car is a 08 legacy which had a factory installed Panasonic screen head unit (which is useless and keep reboot itself during driving), and I do want to have a Nexus 7 tablet to switch that off. And I also have a GROM SUB08B3 Bluetooth interface installed in my car, so I just wondering could I use that to connect with a Nexus 7 with bluetooth and just use some kind of cable to auto charge the tablet? ( like the one you did, boot the tablet when starting the car) As my research so far I can boot the tablet to let it do the auto boot mode, so can you advise me which kind of cable should I use to power it? Thanks!

Awesome setup, any particular reason you went with AutoDroid vs other ROMs?
Sammy Njoroge because Autodroid allows OTG+Charging, has a "fixed install" mode which makes it easy to turn on/off with ignition key, and has drivers for lots of useful USB devices such as webcam, tv capture, DAC. Biggest problem with it is that it's still Kitkat rather than Lollipop
What software did you use to activate? I think my vacuum hose on the actuator is leaking but it impossible to check while engine is running. I downloaded inpa but not yet setup.
