Variety is the spice of Life. And life presents many challenges and opportunities. So I've taken advantage of that. Over the years I've done the military thing; archeology; acting; reenacting - Civil War, Rev War, Indian Wars, Colonial, F&I, WWII,; EMT; Firefighter; search and rescue; caving; metal detecting on and on.
Currently: (1) visual human tracker; (2) Virginia Regiment F&I reenactor; (3) avocational archaeologist and often use a metal detector as part of site surveys.

Foxes are beautiful, but sometimes they can be troublesome. On my neighbor's lot, foxes set up house keeping and dug several holes in the mound that covers the septic system. Fearing that he might be searching for pest control to exterminate them, I offered to help trap the foxes and relocate them. So far, we've caught two. Here is a little about it.

Come along on a little adventure searching the north beach on the Virginia side of Assateague Island; coming across a few things that are not that common on this shore; some pounding waves in the background, make it a little noisy, but fun; feeling like a lone survivor during the pokyclipse or something, only my tracks in the sand, unusual for this place.

When you're home bound, and you need a little beach time, put this on a loop and sit back and listen to the waves hitting beach at Assateague Island, VA
What part of the island are you at?
This is on the Virginia side of Assateague, in the Chincateague National Wildlife Refuge. You can part in the parking lot for the Wildlife Loop, then either walk or bike up to "D" dike. From there it's a beautiful 8 mile walk to the Maryland border. The south beach is open now, a person can go 7 miles south to the end, known as the "Hook". Great place to look for Whelk shells. Please remember that if you want to drive OVER SAND that you must have a current OSV pass/sticker and a sand kit.
