Dystopian Wars First Impressions

There's already plenty of unboxing videos for the new Dystopian Wars starter box 'Hunt for Prometheus' so I thought I'd do more of a first impressions. Show you some of the built models and some ideas on how you might magnetise them. Also where I think they've slightly missed the mark. Regardless I'm excited to get my journey into the Dystopian Wars started!

Ancient Britons Update. Infamy Infamy 28mm.
Hey! Nice video. I´m about to start Battlegroup or CoC in 15mm and I would love to base them on multiple bases instead of single bases. How did you do yours? What is the system behind it? Any suggestions?
What is the book you refer to? Is it The Waterloo Companion?
Great explanation on supports and why you need them and how you adapt what you would need!
Why was the model printed in a tilted position?
Hi mate, 2-mins of grey plastic at the end of the video?! Can you demonstrate self-flagellation in the next video please?
I never cared for the Steam Tank, but your work on it makes it look exceptional. I love this color scheme.
Thanks so much. Black, yellow and gold is a hard combo to beat!
Thank you for the video I loved my 6th edition orc army, sadly I had to sell most of it when I went to uni. I attended one tournament and came second to last lol. Still was a tone of fun and loved seeing all the other paint jobs the other hobbyists had given their armies I'm slowly getting back into the hobby now buying some white dwarf magazines and buying some warhammer underworld sets since they are more manageable to paint
Hey Sam, thanks for messaging. Great to hear you're getting back into the hobby. WD is a great way to get some inspiration, I love reading through old copies. Once you've got some models under your belt you'll have to try recreating that Orc army!!
Does this method still work? I can't find the generic sla setting for prusa
Great! Looking. forward to more…
Naval wargaming
Printing tanks is also alot easier if you hollow the body and punch holes in the bottom shell. Saves resin and makes the print lighter less prone to failprints.
Good tips!
If i got the largest elegoo resin printer do you think it could print 1/18 scale tanks?
Anything is possible but depends how much effort it's going to be to slice the files up to fit.
That is pretty cool, the Steam Tank looks great.
Thanks for all the kind comments!
@@WargamersAnonymous No problem. :) How´s it going with the stuff?
Still looking great!
Glad you got the Greatswords. They look good and it adds variety. Nice with some Elite infantry for the feel.
They look great! Well done! Love this kind of thing.. :)
Is 6th Ed really "Oldhammer" though? ;)
Cool vid by the way. I have done the same but with Orcs & Goblins, the last year..
No not really but this is YT and no one is searching for keywords like middlehammer :D.
@@WargamersAnonymous Ah ok, gotcha. :) I actually DID search for 6th Ed but.. I found you anyways!
Absolutely fantastic looking force.
Thank you kindly! Haven't done much with it unfortunately but will get round to it!
Do you have a video on how/what paints you use for these boys? I myself am thinking of doing averland!
I don't I'm afraid. I'm using contrast black templar and nazdreg yellow for the base colours though. Good luck with your force! Averland forever!
First and last thing you printed at this rate... :D
6th Ed. Was really the high water mark for Warhammer fantasy.
It's really good. We're having a blast playing it again!
Spectacular and impressive tank!
Thanks Phil. Hope you are well!
Very nice work Phil, especially the traces on the horse teams.
Cheers Alan, very kind of you!
Looks fantastic friend!
Thank you very much! Done nothing with them unfortunately but I'll get round to playing with them one day!
the Freeguild units (at least the old empire ones) get square and round bases
Amazing project! hope you are still going strong with Averland. looking forward to your next video! cheers Matt
Thanks Matt! I've got a few bits and bobs to finish off and I did pick up some Archers on ebay a month or two ago but this one is mostly done for now. Need to get the guys fired up for some more games!
This is exactly the video I’ve been looking for! Just picked up some files for ww2 tanks but they don’t come pre supported and trying to figure out what’s the best way to print them is a nightmare! I think it’s still going to be abit trail and error but this has helped massively! Thanks
Glad it was useful Matt! Good luck!
Great Job! Could I know what colour you used for the hull?
Hi Jorge, Heavy Goldbrown by Vallejo Game colour.
@@WargamersAnonymous thanks!
Yay.... 'O' Group .....
Looks great
Great work friend!
Such a solid design, still going strong.
Nice, you still working on this project?
Not really. I've picked a few bits here and there, some archers recently from ebay and a good friend sent me a metal balthazar Gelt model but I've not had a chance to run any games over summer so it's died off a bit. To be fair the army is mostly done. I'd be keen to add some 8th ed stuff just to paint some of the nice models. Karl Franz and the various altars etc. Cheers for watching!
Nice , I just got this !
I'm sure you'll enjoy building and painting it. It's a nice display piece that's for sure!
No hollowing?
Certainly could do but for the size of the model I'd prefer the extra weight rather saving a little resin. Certainly hollow out the bigger stuff!
What size are in the infantry bases and also the cavalry? I like how many figures you’ve managed to fit on each base and give a better effect.
Thanks. Sorry for the delay. Infantry are 30x30mm which is slightly smaller than my British to give that packed in look. Cav are 35x30mm. Hope that helps!
Well done.
Shame that disaster wasn't captured live!
Want to see a grown man cry? :D
Well Done
Thanks!!
More of this greatness please! :D
Very kind of you!
Nice demo and very helpful, great vidio.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Looks great!
Thanks Michael, much appreciated!
Holy cow that looks great!
Cheers Michael!
Nice kit will look great once it’s sorted The crew gives the turret scale ! Bismarck had yellow turrets when she was sunk !
yellow Turrets?.. grey with red tops and two swastikas bow & stern when commissioned for sea trials & then dark yellow flat tops only for the Luftwaffe range
Nice kit... look great once it’s painted !
The ensigns on the back look good.
Why don't you put your models in hot water to soften the supports? Not boiling hot water, but close to it. You'll find the supports will come away from the model more cleanly. Just a thought.
The lip smacking makes this fkn unwatchable omg
Roman’s look great.
Those Roman’s are outstanding friend!
Cheers buddy, very kind!
Hello bud looking at getting into resin printing and i'm interested in ww2 modelling I was wondering if you could recommend a site for 1/35 scale models soldiers, tanks artillery that kind of thing ?
Hey Aynsley, unfortunately I'd never get anywhere close to being able to fit a 1/35 tank on my printer so I can't point you in any direction I'm afraid. At that scale I'd stick model kits but I could see it being good for figures. All the best.
@@WargamersAnonymous thanks mate.
