I appreciate the detailed overview of devastation evoker, as someone who mained devastation all through dragonflight and detests augmentation this probably cinched my swap to mage. That and the transmogrification issues...

This race and class and spec was a mistake. Keeping them bottom tier for the remaining of time will almost fix the mistake they made.

i know im commenting kinda late but i think firestorm (and all targeted ground effects for the matter like earthquake and rain of fire etc.) should just go onto whatever you are targeting and just always follow them until they end, sometimes it could be annoying if the thing u target is like outside the pack or gets knocked but to me that sounds 10x better than just dropping it and tanks kiting out or getting knocked out.

What if the sig buffed Firestorm but cut its duration in half or so? (And maybe a cd) but I don’t know, never took FS.

I love the idea of more interaction with eternity surge. The 2 point node that just buffs disintegrate just feels like there could be something more inspired there. Titans wrath 2 points above causality is just hampering the point economy. Font of magic being a dps loss to take is also something could could be changed. Make the rank 4 charge do something to make the charge worth.

So main thing I agreed with alot of your points but the whole worship preheat and him dooming on the change so it's bad drove me nuts. Preheat is fine but really he's just a fire mage who was sad the class was bad for 5 weeks. I think that change overall is fine the skill expression argument is okay but let's be honest even without the change its you get 1 or 2 more extension based off outside buffs

I do like your idea of the Firestorm being something that you grow and empower to become truly devastating. Though I feel like having to hold that ability to get to that level of destruction might be a bit irritating. You could possibly turn it into a debuff you throw out that empowers itself as you get more Firestorm procs. Each level adding more affects like reacting to Pyre damage, occasionally throwing out pyres, etc. Not sure how easy it would be to balance though considering how fast you can send out pyres.

I have a long question. I play a ton of alts. Dev is one of the alts I have played but lately I have been thinking of Maining it for the War Within. Leaving SV Hunter. I used a rotation helper to get used to Devastation. Once I got rid of the rotation helper which helped me put up some very very good numbers, I was disappointed in how much the base UI makes you aware of. I did grab a Lukthos Weak Aura package but watching your videos made me aware I'm still missing too much information. I did add a burnout weak aura which helped with the Living Flame procs. You mentioned Iridescent blue and iridescent red many times. I am sad as a person who played a decent amount of the spec to say I had no idea what you were talking about. Even on a test dummy I didn't see anything that indicated red or blue. Are there some very specific Weakauras or Name plate notifications I should use? If you have already said all this in another video I can refer to that. I did try watching a Preheat video but he talks about the class like post grad professor.. Any advice would be cool or even a reference to a video you have already done.

have you been using charged blast at all in m+? i've dropped Catalyze for it in most runs i've done and damage seems to be pretty equal, but blast is way more fun :D especially sending a dragonrage with full charges

Dumb question, how do you know when you're in blue vs red iridescence?

This is like a blessing for devastation mains. Since we are usually overshadowed by our younger brother augmentation in mythic plus, there are barely any high key videos with devastation evoker pov. Let alone one with commentary. It would be quite helpful if you could make videos for season 4 mythic plus. Also mythic raid videos where you explain what you do when would be great too.

Did you see flameshaper? He seems strong number-wise but really bland, not changing any mechanic playstyle, besides adding 20 sec cd button. Would be bad if flamshaper tree turns out just stronger
