It's a remote jungle resort. Bugs are normal. Challenging wifi/electricity is normal. I hate when people don't manage their expectations based on the REALITY of a location. This resort is FANTASTIC but you absolutely must realize that a remote jungle resort will come with certain realities.

Yes, I did take this trip recently. The back roads to Cabo Rojo were pretty bad. There were a lot of holes on the dirt road we had to drive slowly around.
