Honda express replacement carburetor
My 1978 Honda express had a non threaded jet in it that was either 72 or 74 but it was punched in by machine. I just switched to dellorto.
What is that part called on the new cap, where did you get it?thanks
Wow so thats what i have to do then ,cause i did bought a carb from ebay and when i installed it,the throttle cable was loose so the jet needle wont go up or down so if i cut it like you did then it should work properly right?.im just a begginner lol' thank you....
nice and easy!
Yes it is!
how fast after stage 1
I just got an express with a deltoro and mlm intake plus exhaust yet it needed a new cable, this new one doesn’t fit as well in the carb causing the slide to sit halfway and making the bike run at full throttle (straight up to 28mphs tops out around there after resetting to 58) How’d you get the cable to work in that configuration? Any tips for that process to properly set the carb up Cheers !
It really took no effort at all, I did use the original factory cables without modifying the cables. I think I’ll be posting a how to video on how to install the cables with the same carburetor, I’ll need to get a camera man 😂. And make sure that you get the factory dellorto cable adjusters, eBay and treatland carry them good luck.
@@miguelpagansr6128I still gotta get those adjusters but I got the cable/slide seated properly in the carb again! Ofcourse my ignition coil gave out and now no longer gives strong enough spark, I’ll have to do the treatland route with a new one and ground it just like your other video! It’s always great to see more express’s running around , hope the build is working great 👍
Can i use the old ground wire if its still on the manifold? And do i need to ground it with a new bolt, or can i ground it under the nut holding the condenser on?
Thank you for the video man
What carb is that 😮😮😮
It’s dellorto sha1515 clone, you can also get original dellorto jets for them. If you’re running this on a Honda express, you’ll need the intake adapter from Treatland. Thanks for watching
Update, I’ll be running a #58 jet on my bike. But the factory size is between a 50 to 55. And if you decide to run a pod filter, leave the screen on the carburetor and run a 66 jet. Thanks for watching.
I think it was the best decision I made for this bike, I tried again first thing this morning and it started right up without using the choke. I think my future bikes will get this set up no question. Thanks to all of you for watching and your comments, catch you on the next one.
79? I have an 80
Do you have any videos on it? Would be cool to see it.
Super clean
You got that right, thanks for watching
Sounds great Miguel, hope you still kept the red one too :)
Oh yeah I still have it, i might move the orange one on. I don't use it much anymore, I might put it on my channel as an update on progress. She's pretty much done and roadworthy, thanks for watching.
Great hack. Thanks for sharing. What ratio of petrol to oil mix are you using?
I’m running it 50:1 which adds up to 2.6 ounces of oil to one gallon of fuel.
Been following your videos very informational.
Thanks for watching, that’s the main idea. I’m sure they’re many folks out there with concerns on these cool bikes.
Sorry for the video quality guys, it looked a lot better when I filmed it.🤬
looks great to me
@@beausharp7715 thanks for watching, I’ll be showcasing it on my channel soon among other projects.
I like how you made an intake so that the engine doesn't have to sit at the required 30° angle like with the stock setup.
Very nice clean bike!
It sure is! I just saw your bike on your channel 2 days ago, hope to see more of it. Thanks for watching.
I used to have a NA (still have some parts of one) I always liked the "banana" seat on them!
Some parts would be useful, I’d like to know what you have for parts. Thanks for watching.
Such a stunning bike
Thanks for watching, I put a lot of time and effort to what you see before you. I might consider moving it on, I don't use it much anymore and I’ve only put 50 miles on it since the rebuild. I have a series of videos as I worked on it, you might want to check them out. Thank you for the compliment.
honda camino or hobbit
It’s a Honda na50 or an express2 with a single speed transmission. Thanks for watching.
So is the yellow cable the hot wire ?
Yes the yellow wire goes to black/ white wire for the kill switch.
what is that cap on the coil and what is the part number
That’s a NGK spark plug boot, and I also have the NGK plug wire extender which I got it from eBay.
I love it. Used to have a Honda c70 passport but traded it for a stage 4 mini bike
Minibikes are just as much fun, I just finished mine not long ago. I’ll show it on my channel sometime. Thanks for watching.
I’ve since then took the stage1 kit off due to running extremely rich so much so that I smelled gas in my oil, so I had to remove the parts and change the oil as well.
What is that part called on the new cap, where did you get it?
The rubber boot? It came with the new carburetor
The metal part is a throttle cable adjuster, hope this helps.
Nice!
Thanks jack, I think I might have to get a longer cable. I think it stays wide open I think, the bike didn’t try to turn on with it.
You know it, thankfully I have the factory shop manual otherwise I’d be screwed. Thanks for watching, and I also have the sales brochure that the dealership would have given you when it was new, it’s so cool and it’s like going back in time. I think I have a video on that too, ride safe out there and thanks. I have a minibike project that I just finished so stay tuned for that video coming soon.
Congratulations!! Electrical gremlins are not my specialty lol. Your persistence paid off!!
Thanks for watching, I also have a minibike coming to the channel soon.
My bad, it's 43 years old.
Japón de los 80s
Gracias por ver el vídeo, es de el año 1979 en ese tiempo yo tenia 11 años de edad. Saludos desde el estado de New York.
why 1st? the engine is very old
It was from a power washer, but I recently have a video on how it looks now.
Reply me plz
It’s not for sale sorry, I put it on a minibike since then.
Iska price kya hai
Im sorry but it’s not for sale, I’ve put it in a new minibike since then. Thanks for watching
very cool
Thank you for watching, I’ve only put 50 miles on it since the rebuild. I might move it on due to the fact that I don’t use it much anymore. If I keep it and restore it I might not want to use it at all because I’m afraid to scratch it up, we’ll see what happens.
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌for watching, I’ll set it in my new minibike kit from mega moto. It’s a complete kit with everything minus the engine and this is what’s going on it. It’s nice for once to work with something new.
@@miguelpagansr6128 hopefully you make a video when your done
@@junkyardlife2691 you damn right I will, I might not do an unboxing on it but I’ll showcase it when I’m done. Plenty of unboxing videos out there already.
@@miguelpagansr6128 that’s the truth
😅 since then I had to remove due to the stage1 kit due to not working on a stock application which means I have to modify the engine and I don’t want to do that on a Honda set up. Winded up putting all the stock parts back on.
Things mint! Gonna slap her on a mini bike?
De este motor cuánto vale el yoyo
Yo grumpy! My bad this comment has nothing to do with el video, just like you said my fa50 topped out at about 29-30 today, even with a tiny hole in the float which I will solder soon, might do a video. All the best man.
Thanks for watching moped guy, hope you can find my videos educational, I do this to help others who are in the same boat.
Tengo un problemita quite la bobina pero no me percate cuanto de separacion yevava aora no me arranca el motor es de una picadora
You need to figure out the air gap between the coil and the flywheel.
You might wanna show exactly what your doing and how it fits afterwards (or the whole process of shortening the piece). And also point out that using an aftermarket carb won't allow you to use the factory airbox. Might not be an issue for some, but if your going for the original look, that might be an issue. The new carbs work great and don't leak like the originals do, but I like to keep mine factory looking. The originals have no adjustment for the float bowl (at least on the 78 & 79), which can cause it to puke fuel from time to time. And finding original parts can be hard for these things. Trust me, I'm no RUclips expert, so watch Mustie1 and Dale Sweger for some insight. Mustie has been at this for quite some time and love his content and presentation. Dale is kinda new, but does an outstanding and very thorough job with the projects he works on.
You’re are right about that, I’ll most likely revisit the topic and let everyone know about that thanks for the heads up and thanks for watching.
@@miguelpagansr6128 happy to help.
Good video very interesting. Cheers
Hope you’re doing well, any progress on the old Peugeot? Thanks for watching.
I’ve since then replaced the tires with IRC NR77 70/90 14 showcase video coming soon.
@@miguelpagansr6128 Hi Miguel how are you doing? I haven't had a chance to work on the Peugeot. I need to paint a section of the fuel tank due to it developing a fuel leak and had to repair it. I will probably will be selling both of them. Because I found out that I will need to get an endorsement to my licence in order to drive it. If I would have known that I would have never bought them.
@@miguelpagansr6128 looking forward to the video.
@@SDsailor7 Im so sorry to hear that, it’s one of those things if I knew then what I know now. Good luck selling them and maybe once you get the endorsement, you can get something real nice that you can enjoy. Take care and until the next one.
I think there’s a way to bypass the switch, you might want to check noped Thursday who has a series of Honda express videos. Hope this helps, good luck.
Really cool video man. My points look horrible but I figure once I clean them Up I should have spark. I also don’t have a key, any idea how to Hotwire the bike so I can have spark?
Thank you very much for watching sir, I found out that the plastic washers were cracked and that’s why I had intermittent no spark. I sent the pipe out to my buddy which he’s going to put it in his burn barrel, I should have it back up and running again once I get it back.
From my experience with the Hondas, you disconnect two wires only leaving the green wire and the black and white stripe wires connected, hope this helps.
Definitely burn that exhaust somewhere with good ventilation. My neighbors literally thought I was cooking chicken lol! You’ll burn a ton of crap out of there and avoid harsh chemical fumes. (Besides oil smoke) lol and paint her with rusto high temp black paint. I did mine with a can and brush mint!
You got it, I’ll be burning it in my friend’s burn drum in his backyard. Thanks for the advice and ride safe.
I’ve since then replaced the tires with the IRC NR77 70/90 14 so stay tuned for the showcase video coming up soon.
Do you have any videos of your ride? I’d like to see it on RUclips in the future.
That is a cherry express! Looking for one currently, I have a beater I’ve dubbed the “Crackhead express” due to its condition and being in the possession of tweakers lol. I’m considering parting it out but not likely.
I wouldn’t part it out just yet, I know that some parts are almost impossible to find due to only having a two year run. I thought about building another one with a modern day gy6 150cc set up that way you can go as fast as you want. Maybe something to consider, I haven’t been able to make my idea possible but I’d like to someone else do it.
Here I am after parting it out a bit and kinda wish I left it alone lol. Still will be able to run it, as I have the engine and frame still. Hopefully I’ll have a dope Honda one day, I really want a atc 70
@@Japanese_moped_guy good luck finding one and if you do make it’s not rusted out, in my opinion if it’s too far gone I wouldn’t go for it.
Wondering where I can get pulley like that. I have something like this but has a tapp shaft😡😬
The pulley actually came with the machine, it came off of a toro snow thrower and it’s a texumseh 2 stroke 3 horse.
where did you buy this?
I got it from Treatland.tv hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
I’ve used this coil. It works exactly as you have it set up. I had to extend the wire as well. I used an NGK splicer and a chunk of wire from my old coil.
Thanks for watching Jason, I thought about the NGK splice kit but it was just too bulky for my standards. But I’m glad you can use some help from the videos, I’m not in it for the fame and fortune but to help people out there that have concerns about their Hondas.
বাইয়া এট কি বিক্রি করবেন
That’s hopefully for a future minibike project, thanks for watching.
