Hey thanks for reading this. I am a C5 incomplete, T7 spinal cord injury guy that likes to have fun and travel. I consider myself a paraplegic, though I am a quadriplegic, became only one hand has a deficit. I travel a lot, and hope my video will help others with how to do things, and inspire you to reach higher and do more and find new ways to overcome your own obstacles. My how to videos are on various topics concerning wheelchair life, and spinal cord injuries as well as how to travel, fly, pack, and coping with various life stressors.

My third video, honing my skills. I'm making these videos because it was suggested to me it may help me deal with being a new paraplegic and it might help others going through the same struggles.
I currently have an Aero T in aluminum and getting the ZRA in titanium in a few weeks. I am so excited! I started the process in February when I was in the hospital for three months and finally getting my new chair soon. I am so excited! Going to turn my Aero T into a beach wheelchair. My biker buddies have done it before. Hope you enjoyed this chair! I only owe $270 for my new wheelchair and SmartDrive. Five years ago I owed $3,000. Then insurance wouldn't pay for titanium. Now they do. Weird!!! I am very grateful.
How do you prevent your toes from getting bent ?
Hello Alejandro, Can you tell me the name of your insurance company? most ins. companies in FL wont approve for this type of wheelchair.
Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO
Thanks for the information.
I'm about to order a ZRA and would you mind if I ask the front & rear seat heights for your chair?
The rear is 16 inches and the front is 18 inches, so it's a 2 inch dump
@@alejandroarroyo9659 Thanks so much! I'm currently using a chair with a 21 inch front seat height but I'm only and 5' 10" tall and I've suspected it's too much chair for me. I've been trying to get a mental snapshot of what other sizes look like in the real world. Thanks again!
@@elliot9688 I'm 5-9 and a half. 21 would be way to much height for me and it would have made life difficult. the only people iI know that have a front height greater than 19 inches are really tall people.
@@alejandroarroyo9659 Thanks so much for that very helpful info! Like a lot of wheel chair users, my first chair wasn't really the best chair for me and I'm trying to prevent making similar mistakes for my second chair. There really is so much to learn!
10,900?! Ouch!
It's customized to fit you only and it's titanium.
I'm getting an Aero Z and Smart Drive and it's $23,510, like how?! I could buy a car for that.
Yeah just add the word medical and it triples the cost of anything. They are delivering me my new Smart Drive MX2 next week. I'm hoping it helps my shoulders. I' pretty active and travel a lot.
I'm in a chair due to EDS, so my shoulders subluxate a lot. The Smart Drive is keeping me out of a power chair since I won't be propelling. When I was on my feet, my daily journey of just getting to college classes and around campus was between 5 and 10 miles of walking, so the assistance is greatly needed. Enjoy the Smart Drive! My order is going in sometime this month after I figure out my co-pay ;)
How old are you?
A few days shy of 22. Staying out of a power chair for as long as possible is a real concern.
Yeah, Im tryng to stay out of one also, hoping the smart drive will let me shoulders heal some. Im in Texas, where are you?
Do you have any leakage in between. Cathing? If so do you use a product?
In the beginning I had a few accidents, but with my current medications (myrbetriq 50mg and oxybutynin 5mg) I don't have any issues.
Alejandro Arroyo wondered if you could recommend a pad that worked?
I have the TiLite Aero T, but mine didn’t come with a cat.
Nice chair! Hope you enjoy it :)
Nice chair! Hope you enjoy it :)
Lol
What a sweetheart
Hey, you put your pants on the same way as me - one leg at a time! Haha Just kidding, but nice video.
Mason Ellis dammit , now I'm gonna change how I do it, gonna find a way to do both at the same time lol
Alejandro Arroyo Haha
That's awesome! Haha
Good on you Alejandro, you just made my day, seeing how you handled the situation. The JWs have their current life on hold awaiting a promised paradise earth with their own house and friendly lion.
Myrbetriq is the real deal. I don’t have dry mouth anymore and can taste food way better than when I was on Ditropan. You’re right, Ditropan has bad side effects including dementia. I’m curious about how pressure mapping works. I’d love to have a pressure mapping done. I believe it would be very beneficial. Awesome video. I can tell you’re a great guy.
Awesome! I got the GoPro Hero 5 last year and haven't used it much. I'm planning to record my hunts this year for my RUclips channel.
You're welcome, enjoy the new tool
Thanks for sharing the information. I don't need a catheter myself but often am liaising with people who do so it's very good to get some knowledge about the daily practicalities.
Awesome video! I'm glad to see you making videos like myself to help others with Spinal Cord Injuries like ourselves.
Excellent video. I'm planning to do a series of videos on Jehovah's Witnesses and disability/illness, as I keep seeing them acting illegally and/or like something from 60 years ago with their members. One of my points is that they presume we all can't wait to be 'cured' etc. They also do that thing of using us for 'inspiration'. Could I include your video - with full accreditation, of course. Anyway, thanks for the perspective and all the best from the UK. :)
What a most profound video. Thx for sharing. Seriously. You rock dude.
