Sounds great!!
Now I could listen to this all day long.😊
*Very nice work~This is Ratt's LIVE 1/25 & Tammy :))*
Looks like it was an awesome event. Thanks for posting. New subscriber.
@ClassicChrome86 It was! The Good Guy's Shows are always 😎!! If you've never been to one, you should definitely check it out. Thanks for subscribing!! I will be posting a lot of new videos this month. B
@ Sounds great!
Why didn't you deck the block
Alrity sir. Looks like a contender. Sounded good to me. I was convinced when I saw those headers. Cool. 😃👍
Oh damn it sounds like a shitie
Man, that’s a lot of lift. Wonder what the duration is ? Sounds GREAT ! I personally would rather have long duration than high lift numbers. Keep the valves open longer rather than stressing the valve train. The greater the lift, the more susceptible to breaking a valve.
Cam Specs ?
520/540 Comp Cams Solid Roller. Howard's Cams Lifters and Pushrods.
better break the cam in !!!!!
It’s a roller… no break in.
Ooh, i heard that, damn thats deflating
Yep. These new camshafts are so poorly manufactured. It's really hard to get people to understand that. These days a quality manufactured Camshaft will cost a grand. That's why I use mainly old steel Crankshafts and blocks as well. And I balance every motor to within a half a gram. I put alot of time in every motor I build. It's tough to explain to people that these cookie cutter motors are not the answer. Have a great one! I will be live at the 40th annual Good Guy's Show this weekend. I will announce the times on Fri evening. B
Choke horn huh
What duration cam specs forget lift mean little
Garage in storage sheds ? How did you pull that off ?
Hard to do. Have to find an independent owner who is also a car guy!! B
We had one and built bikes. We also lived in it.
Owner is a car guy°
Lets hear that 10,000 Rpm's !!!!
.620 lift cam and AL heads through those tiny headers… why? Just what you had or what?
It's still just a 355, so the smaller primaries will actually promote better laminar flow of the exhaust gases, thus better scavaging.
They are just for the test run stand. I actually built this motor for my Vega. The studs don't clear the oil pan, so I'm building another motor for it.
Also the .620 lift cam broke and I had to tear the motor down and replace the cam. This cam is a .520/ .540 lift. There is a video about on My chanel. B
@@cjbreit2806 cam and heads promote more air flow… its not just a 355, bigger cam bigger heads more air flow that’s literally basically why people add a bigger cam and larger heads
@@ni_wink84 please provide us with the differential equation used to derive high temp gas velocity through different cross sectional areas, since your the expert on the subject....
Sounds good!🎶😍
Now I've got a headache, 😂
Wow
I think roller is flat out dumb I’ll stick to my solid and hydraulic flat tappet never had an issue
dumb how? its way better. the only downside is price. no way you could make a 620 lift cam live without being a roller
Nobody cares
Literally the most uneducated comment on the internet.
You’re not going fast enough then
Flat tappets are garbage compared to rollers
Bumpity bump bump bumpity bump bump look at frosty go..
Angry SOB!
Wow its un mistakenly definitely a cam shaft. Probably a comp cam
Brand new cam. Right out of the box!!
@@BLR_Race_Engines was it a comp or by who. And how did the can break
@bd8839 ya it was Comp. Solid Roller. Tore the whole Motor back down. I do R&D on some new stuff for different companies for compensation. Parts,etc...
@@BLR_Race_Engines yep see comp = trash. I never had a good comp product. I herd delta cams is great
@bd8839 I use Erson alot and Clay Smith custom grinds. Problem is that people don't understand that they to factor everything in when choosing a camshaft. You can make any motor sound good. But in the end it's all about the Longevity. I've been at this for 40+ years. People think the answer is what they see in a video. Apples to apples, if uou want to go fast, get out your wallet. Especially if you want a motor that's going to stay together. Hard to get through to people on that one. Thanks for watching my videos and chanel. I'm in Pensacola for the Snowball Derby. Will be posting some new videos next week. Br safe!! Happy Thanksgiving. Buddy Langford. BLR Race Engine's.
Motor sounds real strong
Thanks. It should pull hard up to about 7200. If it doesn't sell by racing season, I'm going to put in my new Vega I'm buying.
Thanks. It's for sale. Many more for sale. 283.327.355.360.
It's for sale. Have Many ready to go. Thanks for watching!! B
That's some great acting.... He's obviously furious. Poor guy.... 😢 🤣
Lol. Buddy.
About how much TQ & HP can I get outta 355 (ft)10.3 comp with HR 560 in/out lift °240 flowing to 190/64cc heads, open 3" exh?
Valves?
@@BLR_Race_EnginesHi. And Thank You for your response. 2.02/1.60
Go 2½ exh I get more power with my 355 and I'm 12.1 comp afr heads 660 special grind doub Herbert camshaft 850 carb I got the car in the 11 secs. Get in the 11s isn't easy don't let nobody tell you different partner tellem show u a ticket
That sounds nasty...I bet it's badass
I built that for the guy jumping up and downs 66 Corvette. It'll get out of it's own way to say the least!! Thanks for watching!! Buddy
Hi, can you build me a transmission, thanks
Lol!! Good one !!
What cam you running? Cubic inch?
355 CID .520/.540 Comp Cams Silid Roller. This is a motor sale. I have other new ones built as well. Inquire. B 1:07 1:47
What !!!! Could hear ya, motor sound good tho
I was discussing using the vacuum gauge to verify a leak. You can locate a leak with carb cleaner, but if you have a wire arcing out it can cause a flash fire in your face. You can use WD40 also. The problem with that is it gets all over your motor and makes a mess. The vacuum gauge can be used to adjust your carb also. Mine is a Snap On. Harbor Freight sells one for a very ŕeasonable price. Good tool to have all around. Thanks for watching my channel. Buddy Langford. BLR Race Engine's.
Discussed finding a Vacuum Leak with a Vacuum gauge. Also Adjusting Carb With Vacuum Gauge.
What
Nice an crisp 👍
Thanks Mike!!
@@BLR_Race_Engines I call em like I see em!

Sounds nasty 👍😎 cheers
Thanks!! I've been building them for 40+years. Started racing when I was 15 on dirt tracks in the Southeast. Was Drag racing as well. Graduated to asphalt. It's been a wild ride! Building a 76 Vega Wagon right now. Will be posting video of the build. This Motor on the test stand was built for the Vega. The oilpan won't clear the studs and Windage Tray in the pan. Thanks again! Be safe. Buddy Langford. BLR Race Engine's.
Thanks!! It's a Screamer!! B
You know the timing is real close when they pop off like that. Sounds goods
Thanks!! Built it for myself, but my oilpan won't clear the studs. Was going to put in my Vega that I'm building. Will be a great one for someone!! B
Gonna have to set the valve lash very often. But that’s badass!
Thanks!! I've building them! Bot as much fun as Racing with them! This one I built for my Vega but the Iil Pab Won't Clear Th Windage Tray And Studs.
I run a 680 lift solid roller on my sbc 421 and street drive it I get a year without adjusting my rockers
Myth!!! Checked every so often? Yes. Not like you think. Solid roller is the only roller!
Set mine once a year and they are almost never off
🟥 What compression ratio, and did you have to fly cut the pistons? Also...did you advance cam or put it straight up? Nice work...love the sound.
What the specs
For this Motor? Cam?
Awesome video, learned a lot.
Sorry I haven't followed up with you. Glad you learned from the Video. I will be doing a Tear down series and a build series start to finish. It will show key points and the importance of certain procedures. Some are already illustrated in my first Videos, when I first opened this shop. I thank you for watching. Hope you find my future Videos educational as well. Buddy Langford. BLR Race Engine's. Pacheco California.
They have everything at this shop. Amazing!!!!
Listen to that engine! Yours can sound like that too!!!!
Awesome engine. Love performance engines!
Sounds great 👍
Thanks!
Who wants to go racing?
Always up for some RACING!
Great insight into heads and springs!
Thank you sir. More to come. I will be concentrating on Spring and Valve travel. This determines how big of a cam( high lift due to trav) using a Spring micrometer. Also it will show how to get more travel and when you have to change Springs. Should be a good one. Thanks again for watching. Buddy Langford. BLR Race Engine's.
That's a pretty rad engine. Loud!!!
Thanks! Had a bad plugwire. If you look close at the video you can see the wire arcing out on the header. I didn't sè it. That's why I grabbed my stethoscope. Something didn't sound right and I was trying to see what the problem was. Buddy Langford. BLR Race Engine's.
Great video. I need to learn how to do the valves.
I will be showing a little more detail on mechanical cam valve adjustment in a future video. Thanks for watching!! Buddy Langford. BLR Race Engine's
Great video!!!!
Very cool! Good Guys show?
Don’t tease! Give us more specs! Sounds great!!
