If you have very sensitive skin like me, stay away from shaving creams or soaps that contain Alcohol. Unfortunately 90% of them do. I always broke out with acne and irritation until I found this out. Today I use Avenno and Nivia shaving cream. My face is completely clear. You can also Google " Shaving soaps and creams that are organic and with no Alcohol". I also recommend trying a single edge razor. Parker, Leaf, Schick and others make standerd and adjustable razors. I hope this helps you.
Brut just smells like that lavender talc old people wear
Burberry Brit smells amazing I’m surprised you didn’t like it
You nailed it. Slow down n enjoy the process. Like Bilbo n Gandalf. They busy but they slow down n enjoy their pipe weed.
Don't use expensive soaps. I use and love dove men's + it's creamy and lathers well. Experiment, may be surprised at how cheap it is. Lather it in a bowl.
I just ran across your video. There are excellent DE safety razors on the market for $40 to $60. Even some $10 DEs will give close, comfortable shaves. I recommend that anyone watching this video and thinking about DE shaving should watch other videos to learn the proper techniques. Poor technique can result in a really bad shave whether it's a Feather or a Derby blade. Experienced wet shavers will tell all newbies to buy a sample pack of different blades to find the ones that work best for their skin and beard type. I do agree that it's important not to expect perfect results on that first shave. Using the right techniques and not over-shaving will only take a few shaves to become proficient. I also had to laugh about saving money. Traditional wet shaving is so relaxing and enjoyable that it becomes more of a hobby than a morning ritual. Most of us have spent a small fortune buying safety razors, brushes, blades, soaps, and accessories that we definitely never needed. We just enjoy that Zen moment to start our day.
Really great points!

I prefer Canoe to Clubman.
Alum is a astringent.
How old were you in this video? 40? Skin looks good! How are you these days? I don’t use aftershave for the scent so 4 hours isn’t really a selling point for me. These all kinda smell like old grandpa IMO but then I haven’t shaved my face since I was 17. I’m a beard guy but now use these for my shaved head. I was using headblade aftershave lotion (Clear Head). It’s probably good for face too! As for the liquids I’m using Aqua Velva and Brut right now. Brut burns more, and I like the smell better. But I still feel like Velva still might be better results as far as less bumps. Plus the Aqua Velva scent seems more subtle. And seems to go away faster which is what I need.
I'm 37 i love the smell of BRUT it's what I've always wrore it's very masculine
One could argue that it is a form of meditation. I now look forward to my shaves and I take my time. I have a process which involves not being rushed or in a hurry. The only thing on my mind at the time is my shave. If you're still using plastic razors and shit in a can to shave with then it's a chore that you want to hurry up and get over. With wet shaving you take your time. You lay everything out and you prepare for the shave. You choose and load a blade while your brush is soaking. You apply a fragrant pre-shave oil (I use almond oil) and then work up a lather with your brush either in the bowl or on your face. It's a process that you can make your own. Cartridge razors are a one size fits all type product and it's good enough, but not great. With wet shaving your can really dial it in. Get a good razor that you can afford and then try a variety of blades. After some time you'll find what works best of you and you'll be a master of your face.
I’m 38 years old, i had a compliment and inquiry about this cologne today. I’ve only had it since Sunday:)
Good video! I've worn it occasionally over the years because my wife loves it and have gotten many compliments on it. But honestly, I find it very strong and perfumey. To me, it seems better suited for a posh evening setting. Certainely not for everyday wear but it's cheap and the ladies like it so it's a good addition to the top of the dresser. Ppl
« Brut De Fabergé » est le meilleur. Ça sent la France !
All of these are fantastic. Love the classics!
I use stetson aftershave it does dry down to a less flowery scent, the one in the glass bottle of aftershave smells better or different then the one in the plastic bottle that says moisterizing, that has a more lavender aroma In comparison
After the reformulation, I choose not to really wear this, because it honestly after the dry down, gives a reminiscent scent of urine. And for me personally that’s a no go. I remember my father wearing this, but he had the older formulation before they reformulated it back in 2013. So for me the modern formulation is a Knogo and I’m not really willing to gamble on a vintage bottle. My understanding is that the original scent was a powerhouse absolutely incredible, rich, dark, mysterious, and very warming. And that is all you could expect from Halston absolute class. I still keep the 14 in the collection primarily so I can remember they smelled my father, but once it dries down, it’s a no go.
Great video, awesome pep talk
I do wish they’d stop cheating out and bring back the original glass bottles.
Dunno if I've just got a natural feel for it but when I used my safety razor for the first time it was the best shave of my life. No cuts or anything just a smooth shave.
I love this scent so much I got a shave soap dupe of it
You should get into traditional WetShaving, I think you’ll like and really enjoy it. It’s shaving with a safety razor or straight razor, a shaving brush and some artisan or traditional shave soap. There are a bunch of videos on here if you want more information and there are also Facebook groups and forums
I think the pinaud clubman smells like piss and gasoline. I tried the aftershave but then passed it along to my step father.
Stetson and Paul Sebastian are offensive to my nose
I have the English leather set as well the splash and cologne. I think the aftershave splash smells a bit better. I also have a shave soap that is inspired by this fragrance. Stirling soap co “British leather”
Maan, you are idiot.
Nice I have must of them thanks
Wow good
Hello , I just want to ask about a perfume which was available in the nineties, I can’t remember it’s name, but I recall its package, the package had windmill with British rural home with British flag , and it looks similar to silver Lapidus perfume , if you have any idea about such description, please notify me,
I love Halston Z-14.
you forgot to mention Bay-Rum.
My top 3 Aqua velva musk, Axe africa ,tabac
Had this happen the other day after popping a 7 o’clock Gillette blade into my new parker slant razor. Glided across my face beautifully with absolutely no tugging. But after i finished and inspected the work, suddenly my face slowly starting popping up with weepers 😂 Went from baby smooth to a slab of freshly cut raw meet in a matter on a minute haha. Love the razor still, toned down the blades though
Not to brag, no , actually to brag Im very well known in the traditional WetShaving community. Great group of guys and we have fun in the fourms, FB groups, and YT comment section. It’s really the best way to shave. Something we used to think of as a chore is not a fun enthusiastic hobby! 💈😁🤙🏻💈 ~Mike 🌹
I really liked how you summed up in the end. Great video!
i love it but it's getting expensive to buy in the Uk
I just got this. But I got the spray bottle. I'm liking it very much and will use it in rotation with Aramis and Drakkar Noir when the Retro mood hits me!!
I love Brut and Old Spice, own both.👍😃
teakey here- bearded guy. I clicked.
Now that I got Master well comb Topaz aftershave, I am thinking that there is a way to recreate or to get close to the original smell of Old Spice by Shulton. The more close version of Old spice by Shulton is the Old Spice Original made in india, by P&G, it comes into glass bottles by the way, it smells very similar, it is very spicy, but it is not as creamy or thick or soapy or powdery as the original, it feels that burns, it feels thinner. May be mixing this old spice made in india and Master Topaz you turn your old spice more close to the Shulton's formula (powdery, creamy, thick, Soapy, more gentle, etc.). May be starting with 80% OS and 20% topaz, and tryinig differente percentajes, but I think the mix should be good. The plastic bottle version availabe in America is less spicy and it is sweet, very different than the original formula. I suggest you to try mixing and then give your opinions. PD. I prefer Splash than atomizer. Greetings from Mexico.
The old aftershaves are the like you said been out fir decades because there popular best I've still got and keep buying Brut and Old spice.
I've had a bottle of Old Spice for many years, I haven't used it due to the "no scent" policy in my office, bu tin the last month or so I have picked up some Skin Bracer, Aqua Velva and Brut. Wow! I am getting a few compliments as to the "Old School" scents and I have to say I love them.
@MrGtownjake the barbasol brisk from what i hear has a nice barbershop smell i also have the old spice classic deodorant. it's great stuff.
My favorites are Skin Bracer, Aqua Velva, Taconic Eucalyptus and Mint and Taconic Bay Rum. Taconic is alcohol free but they still give you a nice mild menthol kick. The Eucalyptus and Mint a little more so with the mint ingredients since they're natural ingredients.
The best Cologne video I've ever watched
If you pray Cologne in the air and walk into it. It will not work I heard this from a professional model
I love British Sterling.
Really, a decent razor can cost from 12 to 30 dollars. At the $30 level one can find King C Gillette Traditional Double Edge Razor at Walgreens.
